Just recently moved to Canada from Japan. I didn’t realize I took convenience stores in Japan for granted. I miss the onigiri and cafe latte from Lawson and 7/11. I miss the good food and convenience I had in Japan over all. Love to see more food contents from you Martina😊

I think there may be now. Cause I read it somewhere , where Japanese 7/11 owns the American 711. So there are convenient stores that are testing stores before they enforce in the main stores.

I have been on the train of just trying to eat at least 2x a day, but I don't have a lot of energy to cook because I am in a grief/depression period since my mom died and my relationship ended with my last partner. I find that oatmeal in the morning (they have neat little single packs that allows me to not have to wash dishes all the time), and using canned soups and adding single packs of steamed rice (these make for easy clean up). My only issue with this is that I hate all the trash i make, so i have been looking for eco friendly packages, but rn I am just trying to keep myself fed and stress-free. That is my issue when I have a hard time building a ladder, I tend to not eat, just sleep. But so far, I have been getting better at staying fed. Thanks for this hack. Its super helpful.

Do you ever notice vegan meals at a conbini? Since I was a teen I'd always wanted to go japan and try all the foods, but I went vegan 2 years ago and I'm worried it would be a difficult place to be vegan... I'm aware of 1 vegan store in Tokyo but I feel like it's very niche
@nutrinogirl456
@nutrinogirl456 2 жыл бұрын
Having lived in Japan, I'm going to be real honest you are 99.9% not going to. If something is even vegetarian it'll have cheese. Plus, many times there wasn't even any pasta that was vegetarian. Your best bet would be something like onigiri but honestly you won't find pasta that's vegan
@nutrinogirl456
@nutrinogirl456 2 жыл бұрын
In general being vegan in Japan I think is very difficult unless you are committed to cooking all the time. Many times even something that looks vegetarian on the menu won't actually be vegetarian. For example I've ordered salad ask them if it had meat on it and then still got served something with bacon bits on top. It's difficult because they often don't have a concept of being vegan or vegetarian at all. Japan does have a good amount of nice vegan restaurants though you just have to look them up in advance. I really recommend the app Happy cow for that. But yeah for day today you're going to really struggle unless you are cooking by yourself. But honestly if you're not living there and just traveling I wouldn't worry too much you'll be able to find vegan restaurants or places that have vegan options as long as you plan in advance. it's just a lot more difficult if you live there because you can't always pay to eat a restaurant of course you're going to have to cook by yourself
