Yamato had her moments here and there before this chapter, but there were also a lot of cringe and weird moments she had too. She wasn't bad but most definitely wasn't great either. However, after THIS chapter Yamato has offset a LOT of those weird and cringe moments with her before and, I think, she showing GOOD signs for a future Straw Hat prospect.

Yamato is one of those characters who on first impression gives a potential straw hat vibe. I got the same vibe when i first got introduced to characters like Sanji, Chopper, Brooke and even Franky. Zoro and Nami were a dead giveaway.

It would actually be dope for Yamato to join the Strawhats because I don't see Sanji wanting and allowing himself to be weaker than her because he would want to protect all women. So, I would see with that dynamic, Sanji definitely getting to a point where his strength will not be questioned anymore. Yamato is very very strong, so Sanji would definitely step it up. Also, the dynamic with how everyone will interact with each other would be very interesting.

Honestly I think what solifies yamato as a strawhat member is that she has close ties to ace and to me that is a good enough reason for her to become straw hat. Its like ace's will is still living on through Yamato because you know oda originally never wanted to kill ace and probably had ace become a potentual straw hat member but of course the story changed. Though I am happy ace died because it was a large part to luffy's development and backstory. I think everything that has been laid out though in the story, if there is anyone to join as straw hat, it would be yamato probably even more so then carrot or Kawamatsu, kiku, marco or any other character fans want to join. Also if you ever noticed there is a current trend with straw hat members in one piece. Every new straw hat member is someone from a different race exhisting at that location. So wano country is a completely new area in the world with a new race called oni's or ogre's and it would be fitting if one of those races joined as a member.

His other goal is to become a doctor who can cure anything which he hasn’t done. It’s funny, I’m reading through the manga from the beginning now and in Usopp’s flashback when he tells his mom “haven’t you heard of the wonder cure from far away that can cure anything?” I immediately thought of Chopper’s goal.
