I live in PA, but my father would have business down in VA when I was a young kid so we used to go and visit Kings Dominion once or twice a summer because of that. As a kid I LOVED the Smurfs. And they used to have Smurf Mountain, Smurf ice cream, Smurf shaped fries, and a Smurf stage show. I loved it and Kings Dominion was my favorite park! This park still has a special place in my heart despite not being there for probably 30 years because of all of the memories and joy it brings.

Awesome job Eddy!! This video takes me back to good memories from my childhood! From riding the skyride, to riding coasters like Volcano and Shockwave. I also remember when Rebel Yell had one car going forwards, racing against another car who went around the track backwards! I also remember riding the monorail over to Lion Country Safari as a kid!! Also I remember as a kid when I went through Yogi's cave, decades before it became BooBlasters. This gets me more excited to see what Kings Dominion has in store for the 50 year anniversary. Looking forward to it!!

Wow thats awesome Wayne! You got to check out some of the best moments in KD history… the monorail and the skyride are two i wish i could have experienced.

Wow, thank you so much for paying homage to my home park ❤️ as well as my childhood, and young adult years. I remember so many things about the park, the Skyride classic, the quickest way to get from one side of the park to the other. The Galaxie, that was before the Shockwave. Before 🌋 the mountain housed multiple rides, the haunted river, smurf mountain but for me it was the Timeshaft...lol..talk about your throwbacks. KD, has been holding a special place in my heart for years. I'm so excited to celebrate it's 50th🎉🎉.

Awesome video! Definitely learned some things here. I’ve only been to the park once so far, in 2022. One of my favourite memories from that day was after riding I-305 a few times, I was in need of a break. So I decided to get some frozen custard and just did a lap around the park for an hour to appreciate the vibes and natural beauty of the park. Can’t wait to return this season!

My first job was at KD in 1975 (age 16) and I worked there for the next three years as seasonal and then part-time employee. The skills I learned at KD allowed me to grow in to management at Philip Morris and retire at a very early age. Have a Prestige Pass today and enjoy KD when ever I can.

In the 80s as a kid I used to ride my bike to the Days Inn down the street from my house to get the travel brochure which always highlighted the new ride for the year. I had pamplets for white water canyon, berserker, diamond falls, sky pilot, shockwave, avalanche, racing rivers, days of thunder, anaconda. Those pamplets got lost over the years a real shame

What a shame but cool…. I wonder if you can find them on ebay or something

Great job! I first came to KD in March 2023 and have enjoyed it. My sister-in-law would take my niece and nephew with friends down in the summer, at one point is seemed like everyday! That was 20 years ago 😂

Enjoyed the video Eddy! - I've only been to Kings Dominion once back in the day. Remember riding 'Volcano', 'Racer 75', 'Anaconda', and 'Shockwave'. I lost my hat while riding Shockwave, and the next day the top of my head was sun burned so bad (ouch!). Wish they had more shade.

They definitely have more trees and shade now :) glad you enjoyed, hope you sub!

Shockwave was one of my favorite stand up roller coasters (just like King Cobra at Kings Island)....I do miss Shockwave and it was a little bit better than King Cobra....but I like both stand up coasters--King Cobra at Kings Island and Shockwave at Kings Dominion although the format is nearly the same though.... One of the most favorite roller coasters at Kings Dominion: Grizzly & Racer 75 (Rebel Yell). Plus I do still have to be thankful that I have my 50th Anniversary button and gold bottle from my home park, Kings Island and it's still here with me. I wish I could add Kings Dominion's 50th Anniversary button to be added to my collection....but would be nice though.
