Kings Island OPENING DAY 2014

Banshee, the world's longest inverted roller coaster, opened to the public on Friday, April 18, 2014 at Kings Island. A large crowd showed up for the coaster's debut, and Banshee's line snaked past the Eiffel Tower. Visitors also got to witness the resurrection of The Bat (formerly Top Gun/Flight Deck) and its new color scheme. Filmed Friday, April 18, 2014.
Sorry for such a long video, but I wanted to include as many rides as possible (I still missed a few.) Nothing artsy-fartsy here either, as the large crowd kept me from my usual vantage points. Maybe next time...

Lol so true, I was apart of it, the second I walked through the entrance I stepped about 10 feet into the beginning of the line, *6 hours later* I rode banshee at 9:06 PM and it was the BEST ride but the WORST wait! After that horrible experience everytime i go to KI i buy Fast pass

I was there that day. The fact that is was: Good Friday, perfect weather, Opening Day, and the opening of a new coaster resulted in loooong lines. I bet it'll feel the same way when Steel Vengeance opens.

Lines like this are very uncommon. This ride was new in 2014. Kings Island is almost never this busy. Cedar Point is though

It seems like Kings Island just can't lose it seems to get more popular every year. Reinvesting in new rides and moving the park forward is the big key to there success. That's where other parks that are obsolete now (Americana ect) failed to deliver

I waited 4 hours to ride Banshee on Friday. About an hour of that was due to the ride being shut down a couple of times while they worked on the brakes or sensor at the end of it.

Great video CoasterBob. Was there to on Friday, waited 4 hours 30 minutes for Banshee. Joined the line by Eiffel Tower. That topped my wait for Top Thrill Dragster back in July of 2003.

No my family and I went a few months ago.. We rode rides off and on... We could get off the banshee and get back on in 3 to 4 minutes.. The isalnd time for the delirum is about 115 to 20 minutes

I was there on opening day at opening time,even with gold pass it took me over 5 hours to get through the line. Well worth it. Just came back from 4 day trip to Kings Island rode Banshee at least 8 times.

Ride experience: -Vortex: Rough and jerky. But it is a great ride. -Flight of Fear: Only thing is that you don't know how where you are going which makes it fun.

banshee is the only B&M invert that has a height requirement of 52" the only other inverts with that restriction are the vekoma SLC

The good thing about those B&M inverts is they are absolute throughput monsters. They amount of people that they can get through the lines is insane.

I meant to ask Don about the fountains...didn't notice any significant changes with them. Their website has details on any new restaurants, but one of them is The Chicken Shack - tasty! Kings Island doesn't have a graveyard like CP, but if they do, I'll film it.

At least through last year's Haunt, the SOB station has been used for Wolf Pack, one of the Haunt attractions. My guess is they are going to continue using it as such.
