I really appreciated your video. I am a relatively new tractor owner (Bad Boy 2025 / Kioti brand) and have just reached the 50 hour service. The good thing is, most of these tractors are basically the same so I was able to visually relate to a lot of what you were doing. I’m older and slower moving but making progress. Thank you for your clear and easy to understand explanation.

Man I’m so glad it helped you out, this is why I do this. Feel free to ask questions any time. It’s tough getting some of the camera angles and trying to explain things sometimes. Couple other videos you might want to check out in my videos tab. How to grease your tractor, pre trip and my tractor won’t start. Hope you have a good time with your new tractor. Congratulations.

Good, clear, and well done. Do my own maintenance as well, and have the baby 3520 with just a few hours so far. Greased her once and hope I found all the points, had to get a pin attachment for the grease gun for a couple of tiny spots on the grapple. Very helpful, and thank you Sir! Best of luck with your property and projects!

Thank you so much for this walk through. I am about to start my own channel, partially due to KZbinrs like yourself that have been such a huge help to me. A few notes, your thoroughness is appreciated. I really liked your "band style" filter remover -- where did you get that? I found the hydraulic filter challenging to get to due to some hoses and the limitation of my clamp style filter remover. I totally ignored your advice at 26:35 about comparing new components. I purchased all the parts I needed for my 400 hour service from a dealer that shipped it to me so I didn't have to drive for hours. I have purchased other items from them in the past with no issues. i put on the new oil filter. It fit perfectly. When I started the tractor, oil was POURING out of the engine -- or so I thought.... I had the hood up and was checking something behind me on the 3 point connection and I literally lost 1.5 gallons of oil before I realized what was happening. Fortunately, no engine damage. It took me a few minutes of shock before I decided to pull off the filter. It was instantly visually smaller than the old one. Part numbers confirmed it. They shipped the wrong one -- it fit so I didn't think a thing about it as I assumed it was the correct filter and it fit with no issues. Never again will I skip the comparison process! Lesson learned. Lastly, there is a grease fitting to the right and up of the 3 point top link arm. Perhaps you showed that I missed that too😁, but just in case, I missed it at my 50 hour service. I have a DK4210 SE and I assume it is the same as yours. Sorry for the long comment, but I wanted to thank you again for this. Keep up the great work.

I don’t have a dip stick on the front axle. Is this common?

@@rileywilson8390 that’s strange, mine is on the right side. Yellow plug on top of the axle. You might want to ask your dealer about that.

Man my HST filter was a bear to get loose at the 50hr mark. I have the backhoe subframe in the way. When I went to put on the new one, i could only tighten it about a third of a turn. The new filter had 29Nm listed on it for torque. Thats hand tight and thats it. Is it good to keave it like that?
@workinonitsteve
@workinonitsteve Ай бұрын
@@cowboybear010 I generally hand tighten filters but I have a pretty strong grip. Most filter are tightened one full of turn after the o-ring makes contact. Usually about as tight as you can get them by hand.

@@workinonitsteve Thank you for the quick reply. I know most filters take 1 full rotation that's why I asked. I tried using a strap wrench to tighten it more but it didn't budge. For reference should the castle nut portion of that filter make full contact with the mounting flange or should there be about 1/16th to 1/8in gap between the two?
@workinonitsteve
@workinonitsteve Ай бұрын
@@cowboybear010 I’m wondering if the center is backed out? Are you able to put a wrench on it and check? If I remember right that threads in on o-ring.

@@workinonitsteve I believe so. I have the same DK5310 as you do. So the HST filter has that oring right inside the castle but part of the filter. You said your oring moved around on you in the video but mine was stuck in the filter firm and even so I just used some used oil as lube on it and spun it on

Very detailed and helpful video. I volunteer at a donkey sanctuary and am just in the process of doing the 400 hr. service on their DK5310 Kioti. One issue I have is with the fuel filter. I haven't changed yet because I don't see where the screw is to release the pump to prime the filter and I didn't see that detail in your video. Can you help me out? One other comment is could they put the oil fill cap in a more difficult place? Fortunately we have an offset funnel that works well to feed in through the loader arm.

Man I wish I had some donkeys, neat little animals. Yeah the oil fill is a pain. I think I showed the primer in the video but I’ll go look tonight. If I remember correctly it just pushes in but I’ll get back to you on that.

Hey bro dumb question but gotta ask the 50 hr service only calls for the transmission filter to be changed....and ive asked a few fellas about their experience....and well all of them said they may as well have changed all the fluid cause by the time they got the filters out they dumped a few gallon. 1 fella who i trust big time says to use a shop vac on the fluid inlet to create neg pressure so ya dont dump tons of fluid.... You are someone id trust too looking at your vids bro. Guess im just looking for advise on if this works or not......second opinion before i get under this beast and dump potentially 300 bucks into a pan.....expensive up here in Canada

When I did my 50 hour i drained the fluid into clean pans so I could see any contamination and have time to clean the magnets. If it looks clean you can pour it right back in. If it’s contaminated you can change it at that point. Shop vac trick should work fine, I just drained mine because I wanted to see what the oil looked like.

Thanks, Im glad you liked the video. I run mostly napa oil in my equipment and have had great luck with it. Check the requirements in your owners manual and find something that meets those specs. Most importantly I believe that changing fluids and doing maintenance on schedule will prolong the life of your equipment.
