ive been flying some popup attacks like in this video with the OH-6 and a similar load out. id recommend being super conscious of your breakaway distance. you really dont want to overfly the target/get too close because you’re vulnerable to even small arms.

Living on the edge without doors! And agreed on the mission design part. It's always nice designing your own little fun mission (I've got a Georgian mission I love running where I can take Apaches from a FARP or various jets to help push back Abkhazian and South Ossetian forces supplied by Russia) but then you've got to do so much scripting work to make things feel truly random so you aren't just going "Okay, I'll fly this exact route, because I know right where the SAM sites are".

Also, re-watching, did you have a tank or something in there that you forgot about? When you're making your attack run, there seems to be a big plume of smoke like a tank cannon firing at you, and it didn't seem to be like the BMP-2's autocannon.

Yeah, DCS currently has a huge lack of a dynamics mission generator to make missions both full of life and random too without having to spend 3 years creating a single mission yourself. One day!

@@CommandT Yeah, it's one reason I'm pretty excited for the Dynamic Campaign. I've been flying pretty much solo for the past...well, since whenever Flanker 2.5 came out, and it's always been enjoyable just making my own missions, but the more immersive and realistic world of something like BMS is really hard to beat when you want to just fly along and not know what to expect in the world around you.

Did you tried the ka-50 black shark III? I really like that helicopter, because it's much less complex to operate than the apache but is almost as powerful

I used to fly the Ka-50 a lot when it was basically the only full fidelity module available in DCS in like 2008 maybe... recently I don't fly it only because I can't think of any realistic settings for it. In real life only a handful were produced and only 2 of them really saw any action during test trials in the Chechen war. I know it's not a big deal for most DCS players but I prefer creating and flying realistic plausible missions. Ka-50 is very niche but a great chopper for sure :)
