I’m 25 and I’ve been trying to do this since I was 12. Landed my first Kip Up today! I know now that The hardest thing about the kip up is not to give up you fail over and over again. It’ll happen with enough practice.

I'm in the b boy club at skool and the way that taught me how to do it was the way where u said you hurt your knees. As soon as I got this video down perfectly in about 2 days, i did it at skool and everybody after session came up to me and told me to teach them the way I did it. This is one of the best tutorials Ive seen around keep it up GNT

People shouldn't get discouraged if they don't get it right away. It takes a while for most people to get the timing down. It took me a whole week to do a regular kip up and ever longer than that to do an armless kip up. After that it took some time for me to get the consistency down. Just keep practicing.
@GingerNinjaTrickster9 жыл бұрын

I appreciate you saying that. Thank you :) Flexibility certainly helps with making the move cleaner but with power and technique you can still land it pretty well. Advise is in the tutorial but i'm assuming you do the most common mistake which is kicking straight out instead of kicking up which gives you less height/time to land the move. Hope that helps and good luck :)
@GingerNinjaTrickster12 жыл бұрын
This move is not just about flexibility. It's about timing, power in the kick and the angle you are exerting it also. My advise is watch the tutorial, follow the steps and i'm sure you will get it :)

I recommend a soft surface as it will absorb your impact when you are attempting the move. Stone or wooden floor is not a very good idea. If that's your only option in doors, then practice on grass or sand outside. Good luck :)

I have seen bigger people than you do a kip up :) I was lucky to get it first go but my back was quite flexible already from training in martial arts. I have seen people my build trying it for a couple of months and no success so it's just understanding and being persistent. The bridge doesn't have to be perfect but it helps make your kip up more efficient and i'm sure yours will progress with time. Good luck my friend :)

Your back flexibility is important to get a good kip up. Bridges help a lot. The rest is timing and power you get from the kick and your hands pushing. Hands are easy to do so back and legs are the most important part to have in my opinion. Good luck :)

This is the way to get your kip up clean and upright so it's the most efficient you can make it. If you want to get up quicker then you would kick with less of an angle and it would be faster but lower. It depends what you want.
