Fellow Legends, welcome! Today we dive into the next exciting installment of False Swipe Gaming's Theorem series, this time we analyze the Volcarona Theorem and how it impacts how we play Pokemon. We have all dealt with Typing in one way or another, from our first battles figuring out Type match-ups to theory crafting how one could streamline the Type chart. This was nothing short of stellar, and if you liked this video as much as I did then I absolutely recommend you go and check out the original video to show some support for the source material!

Tbf it’s one of the few Pokémon with a over world sprite and it’s tucked away deep underground in a special area you you have to go out of your way to, like a lot of legends

Terastalisation also got Regieleki banned because it became far too strong. Even Tera Ice was considered OP. BoltBeam has probably never seen a stronger user than Regieleki. It’s amazing how being able to change a Pokémon’s typing but keep all of its STAB bonuses can break Pokémon

Same Type Tera STAB is 2.0x instead of 1.5x. So a Tera Electric Regileki is firing off 2.0x STAB Electric moves. Same with Chien Pao, Tera Ice could be absolutely bonkers.

17:29 Tulip from Violet got me with that yesterday. I’ve been replaying all of the Pokémon games I own with Pokémon I’ve never used for the main story (which has been very fun, if challenging to keep track of. Trying to avoid type overlap and still have coverage with Pokémon you haven’t used before is tricky) and still hadn’t quite figured out Farigiraf (?) and used Shadow Ball on it with Méndez the Skeledirge (named after Father Méndez from RE4) only to quickly figure out it’s a Normal/Psychic type. After 1000 Pokémon it gets difficult keeping those typings in perfect order. Should have just used Snarl from the start lol

They can not add shedinja to scarlet and violet because it could become immortal in theory tbh quite literally

@@KipReacts it doesn't matter how strong the Regieleki's stab is if the ground type that is prerequisite for any worthwhile ream entirely stuffs it

Stealth rocks is still the most BS move. But I want a Volcarona plush that is just fluff. I've had moths land on me. They are friend shaped.

I say we just rebalance the Rock and Ice types. For Ice type... - add ×2 Damage to the Rock and Bug types. - receive normal damage from Fighting type attacks. - receive 1/2 damage from Ground, water, Flying and Normal type attacks. ...and for the Rock type. - Deals normal damage to Fighting type and other Rock types - receive half damage from Electric type - receive normal damage from Ground type - Poison Type immunity

For the most part, looking back on what original moves existed in Gen 1, it kind of makes sense why certain moves were listed as either physical or special. For example, the only Ghost type moves that existed in Gen 1 were Confuse Ray, Lick, and Night Shade. One is a status move, another is definitively physical, and the last one can be argued either way, but because of that it's justifiable to list it as a physical Type. However, what I cannot in any way justify is listing Dark type as special. Beat Up, Bite, Crunch, Fake Tears, Feint Attack, Flatter, Knock Off, Memento, Pursuit, Snatch, Taunt, Thief, and Torment. These are all the Dark type moves prior to Gen 4; excluding Status moves, there is not a single one of these attacks which /doesn't/ make physical contact. And yet, it's listed as Special. Womp Womp.

Steel lost Ghost and Dark resistance in gen 6, mostly because Aegislash was about to be a thing. Could you imagine dealing with an Aegislash only weak to Ground and Fire? My favourite Pokémon is Steel/Fairy lol.

Aegislash was just such a dominating force. It was good even with what it was already weak to. Less would be bonkers.

Normal Ghost typing is very clever on H Zoroark, pose as something weak to fighting or ghost and some tera to offset other weaknesses

It was Gen 6, which introduced the Fairy typing, that Steel lost its Dark AND Ghost resistances, gaining one in Fairy. You said Gen 7/8 and only Dark. You were wrong. Revisionism! Steel and Dark types were added to stop the overpowered Normal and Psychic types of the previous generation, helped out by the Special stat being split into two. Fairy was added in Gen 6 to stop Dragon types. So, personally, I don't really think we can cut any of the types. Poison and Dark are too opposing in resistances, immunities and strengths to be put together, it only works in TCG because it already is a simplified type chart. As for Rock and Ground, what they resist is different and can't really be consolidated. The reason they are two different types that also get paired together is because Pokémon made from the earth often contain both rocks, Rock type, and soil/dirt, Ground type. I mean, it wouldn't be hard to take the same arguments and fuse Grass and Fairy typing togethers because of how nature based both are, which obviously won't work. 8:09 Dragon Tail Gale Wings was nerfed generationally, so it was nerfed in Gen 7.

When I saw this, my brain automatically went to one of my favorite Gen1 Pokémon, Parasect. Its Bug/Grass typing combined with middling stats make it really bad for competitive use, but it does have a unique ability in Gen4 that keeps it from being utter trash (IMO) - Dry Skin. Now, I don't know if it got changed in recent generations, but it used to give Leftovers-like regeneration in the rain as well as the ability to absorb Water-type attacks (which isn't exactly a widely available perk). Did that make it unstoppable? Heck no, but I guarantee you no one expected it, and between Spore, Swords Dance, and X-Scissor, opponents were definitely salty (and since this was before the utter ban on Baton Pass, you can bet I had plenty of ways to get it out onto the field). Yes, I can be a complete troll sometimes. 😂

There definitely aren’t too many types, to use your example ground may be better than rock more often than not but eventually you’re gonna run into a gyarados or a landorous, rock covers both evenly while both ground and electric fall short on one or the other, combining types to try and reduce the number is one of the worst ideas possible, they can tweak effectiveness and resistances all they want but removing a type altogether would completely throw the balance into oblivion, especially if you combine dark and poison into a single typing, dark is one of 7 types with an actual immunity while poison is weak to that immunity (psychic) and while dark is weak to fairy, poison is one of its only two counters, trying to remove or combine typings would be one of the most idiotic things gamefreak could ever try to do in a main game

It does make more sense for the cards to consolidate it as it simplifies deck building.

Now as for som1 who has pkmn sun (the og), ive refused to reset the game to the point trying to access the festival plaza (were u go online) just crashes the game. I havnt been able to trade since 2018-2019. Ive gotten a diff pkmn sun just to trade agajn bc quick link works. at this point ive almost maxed the storage space in the pc (950+ pkmn) yet no access to the pkmn bank bc u cant access th eshop anymore to pay for it. Ive also played the game so long i learned how iv's & ev's work. Breeding iv's, (havnt learned egg groups) natures, etc. The only fun i get is from the battle tree. The highest row i got was 29 b4 accidently soft restting th game. My Xurkitree w/its high sp atk (204 due to the lvl 50 only rule) & enough def sp def to survive earthquakes from pkmn w/high atk. But wen i use tail glow. It 1 shots E V R Y T H I N G. I taught it Thunderbolt, Energy Ball, Signal Beam, & Tail Glow. Tail glow buffs sp atk 3x. Wich is alr op af with its alr high sp atk combined w/beast boost. But the fact ive learned all of the alolan pkmn plus gen 1-7 pkmns typings, ik all of ther weaknessess. I even raised a mega charizard x & y for competitive. I also hav battle bond greninja. Also if u wish to test my knowledge of weaknessess. Name a dual typing in the repliez. Ill responde with immunities, weakness, advantages, all of it. Ive memorized gens kanto to alola. Anyway i hav an immens addiction to pkmn so i love sharing my knowledge so ask if yall need help. Also no, i havnt studied anything past the og pkmn sun & moon, i wish i had the book with gens 1-8.
Who has won ?? 😀 #shortvideo #lizzyisaeva
