After winning a contest in celebration of TOME’s 1-Year Anniversary, Gamecrazed has brought our heroes along for more than just a simple sidequest! The heroes who defended the Terrain of Magical Expertise against an unseen threat now have the honor of doing battle with the creators of the game: five gifted programmers who call themselves the “Netkings”. Alpha triumphs over the first of their numerous opponents, but as the fight continues on through the Netkings’ realm in the virtual sun, mysteries of our heroes’ previous trials and tribulations may just unravel. The truth hurts, more than ever.

TOME: Terrain of Magical Expertise, is a Flash-Animated webseries about a futuristic virtual reality game from the year 2020. The story focuses on five players in the world of TOME, who become wrapped up in the activity of some bizarre hackers, searching the game for an item called "The Forbidden Power". Follow the adventures of our heroes, Alpha, Kirbopher, Flamegirl, Gamecrazed and Nylocke in the Terrain of Magical Expertise!
Chris Niosi is an animation artist from New York, known for his +100 cartoons on sites like Newgrounds, as well as voicework in various anime and video games. He is also a proud partner of the Channel Frederator network!

Yuri Lowenthal?! I knew Rubirules sounded like him, but- I DIDN'T THINK IT WAS ACTUALLY HIM!! On the topic of awesome things: Bitshrum's entire fight and level was amazing! Not to mention, every fight was a huge reference to videogames of the past- Execk being similar to Smithy/Megaman, Rubirules being the common Mirror duplicator boss, Kindarspirit being similar to Cloud bosses like Kracko, her adorability fixation (and likeness for KIRB!!!) Being a throwback to Kirby itself, Bitshrum being the past and present of the Mario Series, And Webmaster being like Master Hand, cosmic stage and huge hands and all. The whole thing was an amazing batch of episodes.

Alpha’s line of “I swear, Zetto and I both almost DIED trying to get rid of it!” Gives me chills everytime. Shady did a great job voicing Alpha. It really sold how much the Forbidden Power fucked with his mind. I really felt the anxiety and trauma from that line. Props to Shadyvox for such an excellent performance.

I find it interesting that Kirb was able to get by Nylocke's speech about Zetto, since he is especially sensitive about the subject, and focus on Alpha's emotional state instead. I think he's gone through some really good character development; all of them have. Flamegirl is much more passionate than in season 1, Nylocke is willing to leave his online persona and Alpha has matured a bit. Only GC hasn't changed much, but I'm guessing his turn will come soon.

I'm just waiting to see how everyone reacts when Kirb reveals that he's Zetto. I thought that either the Netkings were gonna say Kirb is Zetto, Alpha demanding to know where he is, or some odd reason Kirby confessing. However I don't think your gonna reveal that until later in the story. The tension is high on how the group view's Zetto, can't image what they'll do once they figure it out.

I love this episode because it shows how close Kirb keeps coming to revealing who he is. "STOP MOCKING ME" And when he just fucking loses his temper "I am not a squire... I am NOT AN IMP... i realized that net kings 5-2 had a fighting style based on their assigned jobs Execk; has a mechanical arm that changes into a hammer, Air conditioner, taser, and flame thrower, which might due status effects which can help him in battle (hammer=Dazed, AC=frozen, Taser = shock, Flamethrower=burn) Rubirules; shape-shifts into ANY character in tome AND mimic their attacks Kindarpirit; Uses weather attacks by changing the Background music slightly Bitshrum; summons boxes that can block the way or have traps (also summons P switches that summon falling heavy boxes somehow) very ingenious and it makes them that more dedicated in my opinion GG

TOME THEORY TIME! They revealed that Zetto/Kirb was part of VR testing right? And since the Netkings were so hesitant to talk about it, perhaps the Forbidden Power was placed in the game on purpose during programming. MAYBE the Forbidden Power/Virus is a program related to VR, something to make the game feel real, to make the players feel pain while they play so the game can be as immersive as possible. However the program may (or may not) have been corrupted. And after Zetto's unfortunate incident with the program, it was buried in the game's code, incomplete and not implemented in the final version (think Missingno.). Of course it's likely that I'm totally wrong. I know this is based on an old sprite series, but I know next to nothing about the first version of this story.

As someone who hadn't seen TTA, I feel I should say that I love this show. The characters are hilarious & entertaining to watch. The music is fanominal to listen to. It's on my driving playlist. The cast does an amazing job with every performance. I think each voice is perfectly cast to fit the personality of the character. Even the side characters are cast wonderfully. The story is well paced, has a nice mixture of comedy & action, and always manages to surprise me. I didn't see the Zetto appearing at the end of the last episode coming. Nor did I know what it meant. Also didn't see the Zetto & Kizuna (my spelling might be wrong) are actually webmasters coming. And season 1 caught me completely off guard with the whole Zetto & Kirb are the same person. Didn't even realize it till the Short 7 (or whichever one ended season 1). This show also pulls off its mystery aspect very well. The forbidden power, Kizuna & Zetto hiring the hackers, Gamecrazed, the Zetto/Kirb example again. The animation may not be the best I've ever seen, but it really fits for the world it's trying to create. Some of the shot choices are really amazing too: the fight between Zetto & Alpha, Nylocke's music video, GC & Nylocke vs Zetto & Kizuna, that shot of the floating forbidden power, the shadow of Alpha with the portal in the ending. All beautifully creative and well done. I thoroughly enjoy every episode of TOME. Mr. Niosi, you and your team do amazing work & I hope you know how much your fan base loves you. You have my respect as a person, my admiration as a creator, and my full attention as a fan. You are one of my favorite content creators & I wish I could pick your brain. Best of luck in everything you do.

I think I know what Gamecrazed's deal is. I don't think he exists in the real world. And that he and the forbidden power are both some kind of self-aware bugs in the game tied to it's very existence in the core code. Keep in mind I made this theory without having read the original TTA. No spoilers plz.

Shipomaster I personally think he's the incarnation another original TTA character in disguise, and he's in the game investigating to find the Forbidden Power, though he's only in there on an anonymous tip so he has as little to go on as the rest of the cast. Think of how he searched around on his own in early season one, and his particular hesitation in talking about meeting up in real life, even when Kirb said he'd be up for it here.

DavCube I think you were talking about Gamma (I assume his name can't be a spoiler seeing as how you know who he is or you don't), but I meant if we're speaking in terms of TTA characters crossing into this that he might be _that_ girl (I don't know if she had a name). GC seems to be too young to be Gamma, but I suppose it would make sense as to why GC doesn't care for questing or socializing much. Kinda of impartial to it all.

In TTA He's a normal guy, but there's a girl who's the "heart" of TOME. My theory is that TOME GC is that "girls"/"guys" alt, because they don't want to just sit back and watch; they want to play. Which would make Kirb their possible creator.

(To Shipomaster , because by mistake I didn't share that post on Google+, and maybe you weren't noticed of it because of that.) My personal theory is that GC has a physical handicap in real life. This is why he never walks, always looks like he's sitting on the air (on his wheelchair) and sorts of slides (when he's moving it). This is also why he can fly and morph ; he created this avatar to escape his handicap. It also explains why he cannot easily see others in real life.

I love TOME so much! Always makes me laugh. The jokes are awesome and the story is great, not to mention just the ides of such a game is Brilliant! I know this isn't something everyone would love, but I'd suggest this to anyone! I'm not a big fan of the new designs for the characters, but they aren't near as bad now as I originally thought. Can't wait for next episode!
