This is quite a good guide for someone looking to get into sim racing and wants to know what all the components do and which ones they should prioritize. I wish I had this video about ten years back when I got my first serious gaming PC. This answers most of the questions I had at the time.

Sorry PC gaming is dead due to NVIDIA's greed on the market, almost no competition. I wouldn't recommend anything over the PS5 pro for gaming, price for money. ALSO no GT7 on PC lol

I tend to find better results with just two sticks of higher density RAM than using four. (Making sure you put them in the correct slots as per the mobo manual - usually A2 B2 slots)

ps5 pro and a 120hz monitor is all you need these days and it will be better than most pcs, if it has to be pc exclusive games then make the cpu the main priority for racing games

my rig currently has a sapphire pulse 7900xt. my next planned upgrades for my pc is to replace my 3900x am4 platform to a 7900X3D am5 platform sometime this year.

Yep we buy a new racing sim for 100 odd dollars and than have to spend $10,000 on a new rig to run it! 😂

race simmers often use outdated pc systems but have the state of the art simrigs/ffb gear. Remember when I noticed this way back, a race simmer ie an old dude used an all in one pc system with his top end sim gear. When I think of it I think it was simracing garage or somebody similar.

for a race sim u need cpu power, and if u want the most of it u need to tune the cpu and ram. the thing is, if u start using 4k monitors at max details and/or triples at that then u dont need that impressive cpu or a tune of the cpu and ram as u become gpu bottlenecked. for me prioritising frame rates, I run 1080p but even 1440p will be about the same scenario, at medium settings, I tune my cpu and ram and for that one cant even run a system with 4 ram slots populated with memory sticks.

I play Ace on GeForce Now. 2k over 60FPS. Highest setting. The only problem is GFN doesn’t support wheels. Controller only. 😢

And many people aren’t willing to live with the latency. (Especially when they live far from the nearest GFN servers) for me with a higher tier of GFN over its first year, I noticed the latency was far too poor to use for driving games. I cancelled it after about 18 months because the latency was a killer for me in Canada,

That is correct. GFN is a great option if you are near the servers. For me, I enjoy racing games on GFN.

As a newb, I just want to be able to run a new game at medium graphics settings And not pay more than I have to. My computer budget goes to work computers and I can’t use them for sim racing.

Intel I5 and 4070ti will run everything in flat screen and on quest 3 it looks gorgeous, but you need xrtool kit and over clock your pc with afterburner. And it runs amazing.😅😮😅

This might as well be spoken in French. I have zero knowledge of pc’s but would like a pc that runs the latest games with vr. What’s the ball park figure for a pre built one that would run the correct specs ? I’m only on ps5 with vr2, I don’t really like driving flat screen anymore so I’m limited to gt7. 😂

I always go for air cooling for the cpu. Been through way too many AIO with failed pumps after a year or a few.

Thanks for all your input, but for me to do that at my age, being retired, I would need to win the LOTTO to afford all these expensive play toys just to play 40-50 dollar racing games. It is nice that you can do this, but my upgrading hardware days are long long gone. Thanks for the video into Alice and Wonderland for me. Need to visit the Wizzard of Oz to say - "If I only had a good PC" Anyway, Take care.

I built my own gaming PC. AMD 7800X3D CPU, Asrock RX 7900 XT GPU, X670E Gigabyte Motherboard, 32 GB Ram memory Corsair Dominator, Samsung 1TB & 2TB Hard drive SSD and it works awesomely with LMU, ACC, & ACE. Glad I did the research to build it myself. It's so rewarding once finished and it's up and running.
