I ended up here after a journey starting with screaming cowboys, but after listening to a few songs I actually really like Kirin, and going back to Big Enough after contextualizing it I appreciate it a lot more than initially.

It starts with the meme scream, then the curious ones start looking at the whole song and for myself it seemed as though it was Cameron's song so I dug a bit deeper finding another SAD song; once you're all wrapped up in plastic and thrown down the stairs, feeling fantastic you listen to more of the album and this whole town is freaking out because he is a great musician! Then you're back in the family home and bravado takes over.

I rowed my boat For a thousand years With the river tide Searching for the ocean I drifted downstream The banks all closed in I birthed at the next docks Said "Take me for a landslide" At a previous port In Spain as a child I knew your face It made me smile We struggled then As we suffer now Further downstream we'll be Courted by the trial Of the landslide Alive, it's a landslide We are dirt Falling with the landslide It's a landslide A life, it's a landslide There's a river of souls But right here, it's a landslide It's a landslide Alive, it's a landslide We are dirt Falling, falling with the landslide A life, it's a landslide There's a river of souls But right here, it's a landslide Dust and dirt Dust and dirt Dust and dirt Dust and dirt Dust and dirt Sea, sky and dirt Sea, sky and dirt Ocean and dirt The stars are all dirt The stars are all dirt The stars are all dirt And God is in the water God is in the water God is in the water God is in the water God is in the water And hell is right here on Earth Hell is right here on Earth Hell is right here on Earth God is in the water God is in the water And Hell is right here Though we may walk the land We're tied to the sea The moon pulls the tides Inside you and I And under our soles The Earth and sea grind We are dirt Falling

It saddens me this song won't become known as an Australian classic, only due to the general idiocy of music industry types and 99% of the general public.In 20 years FM radio will still be playing "Khe Sahn" 10 times a day and this 5 minutes of rare beauty will be forgotten.

+Luc Knight Have faith!!! Kirin J Callinan forever!
@Moneyman-337 жыл бұрын
Luc Knight Man you're looking at it all wrong. The charts are rarely topped by good music. I learned in a literature class that something is truly great when 50 years past it's creation people care about it. These songs you hate so much will be forgotten in two years but give this guy time to grow and evolve as a musician and let the sands of time pass and he will be recognized almost certainly. It's not like in the 80's the charts were just filled with the great music we remember from that time. We just remember the good stuff because the crap got forgotten. It's a cycle. Some music is art, and some is a trend.
