I sat with Kirk in 1980 in that year's jazz festival in Sao Paulo, Brazil. He was accompanying Dexter Gordon, and took a break later etc. Two years later, I went to school with Mark, at Berklee College of Music. Now, I see and hear them both in this fantastic cllip! Great musicians.

My goodness…where have I been?? I thought Kirk passed years ago…but it was Lester Bowie…RIP. If I had known I would have looked him up years ago 😢

This is a little sad. I have the utmost respect for all of these musicians, but as I get older and realize my body won't work the way it did for decades, I question how long to keep playing before my skill are too diminished.
