Kirk/Spock: A Love Story

Happy K/S Day, everyone!
This is my little contribution to the epicness that is the space husbands: from "I believe there's hope for you yet, Mr. Spock" to "I have been, and always shall be, yours" - and beyond. Seriously, this vid basically made itself. When you sit down with a design brief that is more or less make a happy love vid that features all the flirty bits and massive space love in TOS and the movies, you might as well just say make a vid that features EVERYTHING IN TOS AND THE MOVIES.
There is not as much dialogue as I would have liked. Most of the truly epic lines had atmospheric music playing in the background and I couldn't use them. Honestly, it's like they weren't even thinking about the vidders when they shot this stuff...
Incidentally, Generations didn't happen. Yup, turns out it was all a collective bad dream and Kirk died peacefully in Spock's arms at the ripe old age of 132, at their home in ShiKahr where they'd moved after Kirk's retirement from Starfleet. The way EPIC LOVE is supposed to end*.
I own none of this. The music is actually copyright free (YAY!) from incompetech.com/ - it's called Eternal Hope, which seemed kind of fitting. Star Trek, of course, is owned by the nice folks at Paramount. And I'm not making any profit either - my only reward is a kind of childlike excitement and skin the colour of porcelain because I spend too much time in front of my MacBook.
* I will allow Star Trek XI, on the grounds that it stars Zachary Quinto.

Operation Annihilate! In German they translated "Your affection for Spock" into "Deine Liebe zu Spock" which literally translates back into "Your LOVE for Spock"

No shit, I watched it in German first and when McCoy said this i was like "What did I miss?? When did they bond??" I mean, they could've easily translated it into "Deine Angetanheit gegenüber Spock" or something like that, but they intentionally left it this way

Omg this was by far the most beautiful Kirk/Spock video I have seen. Not many people use footage from the movies I guess because the characters aren't as young, but that's what makes the relationship so great is it lasts even into their old age.

Ah, the Vulcan make-out session where they declare their love for all to see! That's the sickbay scene from Star Trek: The Motion Picture (the first movie). There's something about sickbay scenes and Kirk and Spock - the new movie pretty much screamed "THEY. ARE. IN. LOVE." in the hospital sequence too :-)

The only Star Trek iteration I am a fan of is that of the Original Series. I've heard about the Kirk Spock love syndrome many years ago but always dismissed it as too much of a sick joke. Only in the last few days have I begun viewing the videos that have perpetuated their so-called illicit relationship. and the more I've seen of them the more convinced there seems something to it, after all. From what I've seen, this video is the best of them all. Kudos for doing a great job

Oh sorry, I don't think I ever answered this, did I? I have all the episodes on DVD and I use 4Media DVD Ripper to convert them to MP4. It uses up a LOT of space, so I keep the ripped episodes on an external HD. I use a Mac, so I have MovieMaker pre-installed - it's pretty basic as a video editor, but I've tried the likes of Final Cut and that, and... I don't know. They just confuse me. I'd need to take a course in how to use it or something! Hope this helps!
