I like how in Squire of Gothos, Trelane points his gun to mr. Spock, instead of pointing it to miss Uhura or the doctor. He noticed that Spock and Kirk have a deeper bound that makes the captain obey, despite his better judgement or the well being of his crew.

dipping little girls curls into inkwells? What kind of school did Jimmy Kirk attend? 1:54 Kirk to Spock: 'You will know the peace of Landra.' 2:12 Kirk and Spock teach the natives about the 'Peace of Landra', Apparently this was before Spock learned the more peaceful techniques of Vulcan... That last scene with Spock was one of the most riveting of the character. Showing his inner world. What a show and it was made for TV!
@annehaight9963 Жыл бұрын
The writer of the episode created such a terrible anachronism with the lines about "dipping little girls curls in inkwells". The show aired in the late '60s, so it would have been a reference to a childhood environment of America in the 1920s and 1930s. It hasn't aged well at all, and by the time period Star Trek takes place, would have made absolutely no sense. Then again, perhaps it gives the viewer the same sense of bafflement that Spock clearly feels here.

"I have a responsibility to this ship, that man on the bridge. I am what I am, Leila. If there are self-made purgatories, then we all have to live in them; mine can be no worse than someone else's." One of the best lines explaining Spock in this season. Next season's opener is "Amok TIme" where we learn that every seven years Vulcans have to mate. And guess who he was with on Earth seven years previously? Leila Kaloni. But, "You couldn't even put your arms around me" in public, she meant. It was sad to see her hold our her hand to him to lead him to the spores, and he puts his behind his back. I've been watching videos about the music and they scored about 8 episodes and used "cues" from them for the rest of the season, so "Ruth" from "Shore Leave" was used when he gets hit by the spores, and it works better in this episode. I'm not sure where the breakup music here was from.

01:37 Sorry people, Spock's logic is dead wrong. Whatever knowledge that pilot brought back with him regarding the Enterprise would be minuscule and few if any people would believe his being abducted by aliens from the future via a matter/energy transporter. In essence, his military superiors would have told him to keep his mouth shut.

In the movie, _Frequency,_ he tells his friend who's a kid in the past to invest in Yahoo! And when things change he has a license plate that says that. Of course that makes no sense. I think you make money _selling_ stock at a high price (unless it splits on you). Maybe some stocks provide dividends, I don't know. It would have been funnier if he had invested in Yoo-Hoo.
