My journey to Christ was very similar to Lee’s. I was a very pragmatic agnostic who believed people created religion as a crutch. But suddenly I wondered what if I’m wrong and what if they are right? What if Jesus asks me when I die why I never gave him a chance. So I read the whole Bible in 5 months and suspended my skepticism. I prayed to Jesus and surrendered to him privately in my room. I figured what’s the risk? Turns out the holy spirit immediately came into my heart. I felt euphoric for a week. I almost couldn’t function because I felt so much love. It’s like it all made sense. I thanked God for the love but asked him to dial it down until later so I can function. I had a taste of what’s waiting for me for an eternity in heaven some day but I always feel His love in my heart even on tough days. My only goal in life now is to help lost souls find relief in Christ. I hope you will temporarily suspend your criticism and just give it a try and see for yourself. ❤😊

When I turned back to Christ and then got married I lost my best friend at the time. I never judged him, but he cut me off I think because he was afraid he would ruin my life if he stayed friends with me. It always made me sad, and I still pray for him. I think he also might have been worried he would get saved. I had plenty of people who judged me for my changes, and he never did. I still hope he finds the truth someday.

Fellow dear Christians, keep on, always be ready to defend your faith to the extent of your knowledge even as you strive to learn more about it. Never be ashamed, do not be discouraged, your Salvation is a gift beyond value to always be Joyful about. More than evangelizing, PRAY for the unbelievers in and around your lives. There is only so much words not backed by the Holy Spirit’s working can do. Above all speak the Truth in LOVE. God help us all in the name Jesus Christ 🙏🏼

just a quick reminder that the first amendment conflicts with the first commandment "thou shalt worship whoever you want" and that the declaration of human rights gives ME more rights than god. and a history lesson cos the USA is a secular nation, not many people seem to know that, and the founding fathers were at best deists and certainly not christian. hitchens became a naturalised american purely because of the constitution. the UK is officially christian, the US is officially secular. is it annoying that the satanic temple has the SAME RIGHTS as the church? god died with the constitution.

Such is the arrogance of the atheist. And many who actually pursue such quests find themselves facing the unthinkable: the bible is true and it helps them find God. That's how most atheists come to Jesus, by arrogantly attempting to disprove him.
@Tinesthia

@@NeonShores Also many Christians who try to show that the Bible is true find the unthinkable: that it isn’t. It isn’t too unthinkable that books contain some things that are true, and some things that are false. Or that some people like Lee Strobel don’t fairly represent all the available evidence and methodology to draw *tentative* conclusions on historical events.

@@NeonShores How do we figure out what stories are true and what stories are not true? It has to do with making an analogy with stories that we can believe happened, and an analogy with stories that we believe did not happen. And use the thousands, hundreds of thousands and millions of stories that humans have created, both true and not true. Do we think the stories of the moon landings are true? Do we think the stories of Star Trek are true? Why do we think the moon landings and coming back to the Earth actually happened? Because Neil Armstrong was a great pilot of jets, Buzz Aldrin had a PhD from MIT in orbital mechanics. The Scientists and Engineers knew how to build rocket ships. Why might we think that the stories of Star Trek are not true? Aside from the timeline problems. Because the stories don't contain knowledge on how to make Warp Drive Star Ships, Photon Torpedoes, Transporters. In order for us to think the stories of Star Trek, we would have to be able to build a Warp Drive Star Ship and fly to Vulcan and look and see if there is anybody there that looks like Spook. Then we might think that Star Trek is true. It is all about knowledge vs story claims. In order for someone to turn a 3 day old stinky body to new again, that being would have to know a lot about the human body, about blood, skin, bones, eye balls, liver, heart, etc.. Did Jesus tell us anything about the human body? Anything about first aid that we humans can use? Anything about CPR? Anything that would start Science to research into starting Medical Science so humans can build hospitals, medical research facilities and ways to prevent diseases naturally? All Jesus of Christianity gives us is God Magic. Did Jesus tell us about Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geology, Geography, etc.. If Jesus was a God, Jesus should have been able to fill entire books on economics, much more than Adam Smith's Wealth of Nations, 1776. Instead of just telling people to give to the poor. If Jesus cared about humans, Jesus would have talked about how to build more wealth with good economic practices to build businesses and on how to make things. Then lets understand Thomas Jefferson and his phrase in the Declaration of Independence of the United States, "Laws of Nature and of Nature's God." Thomas Jefferson did not think that Christianity is true. Jefferson knew that the stories of Christianity only gets to a human created story God, stories created by humans. Jesus is a Supernatural Superhero, who only knows God magic. Jefferson thought that a Nature's God would have knowledge of Nature. That is what the Philosophers of the Age of Enlightenment gave us, is to not believe in Supernatural Superhero Magic Gods, but to build on knowledge of Nature and Reason. A phrase used to describe the Age of Enlightenment was 'Dare to Know.' It is the Age of Enlightenment Philosophies that gave us the advances of Nature, like electricity, electronics and machine created power, medical care and medical hospitals. Not the Magic Gods Philosophies from the ancient world.

@@NeonShoresThats such a gross misunderstanding of burden of proof…. Have you never seen a court case?? If your claim is that “god exists”, then you, the prosecution, must present evidence to adequately support that claim. The evidence for it can’t be “well, the defense doesn’t have a good case.” Lol. The defense doesn’t have to present ANYTHING, the jury can decide fully on the prosecution’s case, since that is who is making the claim. The default position of everyone else is to assume you’re not correct unless YOU can present evidence for your claim. Everyone else is on the jury, weighing the evidence. The defense, atheists, aren’t making any claims. They’re taking a position on the theists claim that a god exists. The theist HAD to make the claim first, so the atheist is a response to the theist claim, not the other way around. (An atheist didn’t go around first saying no gods exist, until theists came around to define a god lol.) If you’re waiting for atheists to disprove god, you should also be in the position that non-believers in santa claus should have to disprove santa exists, because according to you, not having any actual evidence that “SANTA DOES EXIST” wouldn’t be enough. You want evidence for the COMPLETELY different claim, “he DOESN’t exist”, right? Well, that’s backwards. Lol.

Keep asking our Father God for help. Scripture says we have not because we ask not. I had a terrible temper. Without going into all the details, God showed me the effect of my temper, and I was able to surrender it to Him. When I describe who I was then to people who only know me now, they only believe me because they know I don’t tell lies. Keep reading your Bible. Keep praying. Keep learning the truth of who you are in Christ. Keep surrendering your anger to God. He is going to continue to sanctify and grow you in righteousness. The Narrow Gate 13 “You can enter God’s Kingdom only through the narrow gate. The highway to hell[f] is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose that way. 14 But the gateway to life is very narrow and the road is difficult, and only a few ever find it. The Tree and Its Fruit 15 “Beware of false prophets who come disguised as harmless sheep but are really vicious wolves. 16 You can identify them by their fruit, that is, by the way they act. Can you pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? 17 A good tree produces good fruit, and a bad tree produces bad fruit. 18 A good tree can’t produce bad fruit, and a bad tree can’t produce good fruit. 19 So every tree that does not produce good fruit is chopped down and thrown into the fire. 20 Yes, just as you can identify a tree by its fruit, so you can identify people by their actions. True Disciples 21 “Not everyone who calls out to me, ‘Lord! Lord!’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Only those who actually do the will of my Father in heaven will enter. 22 On judgment day many will say to me, ‘Lord! Lord! We prophesied in your name and cast out demons in your name and performed many miracles in your name.’ 23 But I will reply, ‘I never knew you. Get away from me, you who break God’s laws.’

Jesus Was Born Incarnate Jesus was born incarnate to a young Jewish virgin, lived a sin free life, was illegally persecuted and then crucified on a cross on Calvary. He arose three days later defeating death and ascended into Heaven where He sits at the right hand of God.. Jesus met with 515 people after His resurrection in a dozen different occasions over a period of about 40 days before He ascended into Heaven. Jesus knew He was entering the world to be the final and ultimate sacrifice for the sin of mankind. His body had been divinely prepared by God specifically for that purpose. Jesus was going to die for the sins of the world, and He knew it. Moreover, He was doing it willingly and joyfully. Jesus came to earth to reveal God to mankind and teach truth. He came to fulfill the Law and offer His kingdom to mankind. He came to show us how to live. He came to reveal God’s love. He came to bring peace. He came to heal the sick. He came to minister to the needy. He was raised in a family who didn't believe in His divinity. He had six half-brothers and two or three half-sisters who didn't believe in His divinity until after His resurrection. What gets me is demons knew His divinity but many men and women of His time didn't. I presume Mary and Joseph knew His divinity. But in Luke 2:49-50 [NKJV] “He said to them, [His earthly parents] “Why did you seek Me? Did you not know that I must be about My Father’s business?” This makes me wonder, did they not understand Jesus' divinity? "But seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you." (Matthew 6:33 NKJV) Luke 3:23 states that Jesus was "about 30 years of age" at the start of his ministry. Jesus preformed 14-15 miracles (they were called signs) in the three years or so of His ministry on earth. Many miracles were preformed by Jesus Christ but not specifically identified and recorded in God's word. Jesus' miracles were followed by Jesus forgiving the individuals of their sins and commanding they sin no more. Many of Jesus' miracles were not identified. No other religious leader forgave mankind of their sins. Our sins separate us from God, and there’s nothing we can do to make things right. So, we need someone to save us from our sins and make us acceptable to God. That someone is Jesus Christ. “Neither is there salvation in any other: for among men there is given no other Name under heaven, whereby we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12 GNV) That’s why God sent Jesus to earth. Jesus’ death on the cross paid for every wrong we’ve ever committed or will commit in the future. Jesus made it possible for us to have a relationship with God the Father. We are sinner from birth and need help, Jesus Christ is that help, our only hope. Therefore by the deeds of the law (Ten Commandments) no flesh will be justified in His sight, for by the law our sins are recognized not saved. We must confess (repent) of our sins and iniquities before Jesus Christ, at the foot of the cross daily. Jesus said in Matthew 28:19, to His disciples that: “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.” I will not stand before The Great White Throne of God, my sins have been cleansed by Jesus Christ's crucifixion on the cross. And I am clothed in the righteousness of Christ of all my sins and iniquities before-today, today and forever. I Love Jesus Christ and despite of the fact that I'm human and I fail Him daily, I pick up my cross daily and follow Him. I believe that Jesus is the Son of God and that He was crucified on the cross where He died for my sins and inequities and that He rose again on the 3rd day to give me a way through salvation and sanctification, known and unknown. He loves me dearly and has forgiven me of my sins and inequities. His Word says that if I deny Him before men, He will deny me before His Father. Following, I believe are the greatest verses in God's Word. "But seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you." (Matthew 6:33 NKJV) “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16 NKJV) I am a Christ-follower and live in the Kingdom of God on earth in Jesus Christ, my Lord, Savior and Leader. I have faith and trust in the grace and mercy of God for eternal life for my soul in Heaven when I pass from this life into paradise. I proclaim this openly to the world, that I am sinner, that I am sorry for my sins and iniquities and repent of my sins and iniquities and receive Jesus Christ by faith into my heart, mind and soul as my Lord, Savior and Leader. I openly confess Him as Lord from this moment on, I want to follow Him, I pledge to obey Him daily, and read His word. I will include those in my prayers who are lost and have chosen to deny God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. Our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ declared: “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” (John 14:6 NKJV) I am in the “Lamb's Book of Life” and will not face “The Great White Throne of God” which leads to Hell. Jesus said: “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.” (Matthew 11:28-29 KJV) The grace and glory be to God. God bless

1) Pre-Paulinian means before Paul started writing to the Corinthians, it doesn't mean before Paul was converted to Christianity. 2) Guilt and PTSD can cause a loss of a sense of self and create a mystical experience that he gave over to God after killing people. 3) The creed that 500 people have seen the risen Christ, is just that, a creed. It has no evidential value. No one is named. No one has come forward. Except for Peter and James. James was not an apostle, he was Jesus's Brother, and thus could've definitely had a grief hallucination. Peter as well could have a grief hallucination. The early church was built by Peter and then expanded by Paul. No other disciples are disciples are discussed. 4) The criterium of Embarrassment is not something that is often used in history. Many people will use embarrassing details to humanize themselves. The crucifixion was a normal way to be put to death under Roman rule. it wasn't special. And women finding the body would've been strange if it was any other way, since women are the ones that are supposed to go to the grave and care for the body as part of the rituals. If they changed that, it would've been a huge red flag. But Lee Strobel seems to misunderstand how religion is spread. It's not by making the best case and having the best facts. No. Religion is spread through the household. Which is how he came to his religion. And no matter the tradition, or the culture, the woman who makes your food, and bears your children, still has a great level of control on what you believe, and what God you worship. Women bringing in foreign gods that corrupt people was the fall of Solomon. Thus no one batted an eye at the idea that women would go to the tomb, and this proves nothing, nor is it an embarrassment. This is just bad journalism and historical research and cultural research. 5) The empty tomb. We still don't even know if there was a tomb. And just because some people get buried doesn't mean that Jesus got buried. But even if he did. We have several locations for the tomb and have no idea which one is the tomb of Christ, so we don't know if it is empty or not. 6) The gospels are not eye witness accounts. Mark and Luke definitely aren't. Luke and Matthew copy mark and then share scriptural similarities themselves, which suggest they were both using the same source. John is the only potential eyewitness, but it was written nearly 60 years after Christ death, which makes it highly unlikely that it was written by the disciple and most even Christian researchers don't think it was. 7) Your two people proclaiming Christ, didn't proclaim christ, but proclaimed the earnestness in the belief that someone like Peter had in Christ. Every other point is just you saying, cause the bible says it. Which, if you're going to use the bible, you need to prove the veracity of the bible to begin with. Why should we trust the bible as an accurate historical text. Literally, Lee Strobel was one of the reasons that I left the faith. It was bad journalism. It's bad research. And what's so sad is that it's said with such confidence.

@@vaska1999 No, I left the Christian church because I read the bible 8 times including in Hebrew and Koine Greek and finally couldn't coincide the science I knew with the bible. I also began studying many of the other religions in the region at the time. Canaanites worshipped Yahweh as well, as part of the pantheon. The stories eventually just become clear they were cultural myths. Then came astronomy. As I looked up into the universe and peered into stars, it occurred to me no God so wanting to be worshipped, he murdered people for not doing it, would have created all that I could see and not tell his followers about every bit of it. It tells me how to treat a slave, but not about the trillions of planets, of quasars, and gas giants, in nebulas and galaxies... no... no God wanting worship would leave that out. Then finally, came the point where I began to meditate frequently, for hours on end. And something amazing happened, I became one with all things, and all my anger, and sadness, and fear and anxiety... It all went away As I was and wasn't, as I became nothing and everything, it occurred to me that no God need create a single book to talk and share his message. There was this... This state. And soon I understood what God was, and it wasn't some tyrannical egotist who demands worship and praise and thanks. It was the infinite, a consciousness far greater and more complex, for which we are all a part of. It takes no sides. Does no good and no wrong. And it is everywhere and it is all things.

Did you know that the gospel teacher who left the message for the Lost sheep of Isra'el is not the jwsus made up by Paul of Tarsus, the sower of the tares after Yehoshua sowed the good word,the truth?? Paul/Satan made the test of Deuteronomy chapter 13. Mattan/matthew gospel chapter 13 and 24 expose those who came after. Paul is directly exposed as the man in the desert who said he saw GOD'S teacher as an angel of light and that new god told him the commandments don't mean anything now and to just believe and support the churches, the pagan places of worship. Paul mockingly tells his children, his flocks that the Satan masquerades as an angel of light, whom he saw in the desert and Paul snidely tells them about the man of sin who lead the whole world into deep sin, breaking all GOD'S COMMANDMENTS. Choose GOD and go back and find your roots so this knowledge doesn't evaporate. Go to Abraham, see him separate from the entire world that was filled with idol worship, images to bow down to. I am an atheist and have been a very long time. God is an unknown entity created by the people for the sake of salvation, redemption, coercion, manipulation, control, indoctrination, conflicts, battles, separation, and mental illness. I believe that there was a man existed named Jesus. Stories in the Bible of him are fabricated and fictionalized to the point of fantasies. For example: birth from a virgin, three Magi, star up above pointing to the new born savior, escaping from Harrod, miracles ( magical tricks can be life threatening), perception of Jesus in the Bible is misleading, loud mouth, arrogant, humiliating, mocking, non-compliant to the rules and regulations of Jewish law, scholars can't decide who is responsible in killing Jesus, whipped him nearly into shreds causing him to bleed, despair, agony, and pain. Was burdened to carry that heavy cross and supposedly fell three times while being whipped and scourged. How could anyone live through that before being nailed to the cross? Bible says nailed through the hands but rather through the wrists. Nailed through the top of his feet rather below the ankle. Which makes sense in staying fastened to the cross? Wrists and ankles. Crown of thorns around his head is painful enough. Lanced through the heart to put Jesus out of his misery. Taken down later and transferred to a nearby tomb and covered up with a stone block to keep the scavengers away. I think there was a passage for trusted dignitaries to come and get the body and dispose of it quickly. Not sure how they did it but I think the most appropriate way to do it is cremate it and spread the ashes. This is when they believe Jesus resurrected from the dead. There is absolutely no way a human body coming back from the dead. Never has, never will, and never in the future. From my observances of the Bible as a whole it starts with the Old Testament and ends with Revelation in the New Testament. We all know that the Jews like to fabricate their stories in the Torah and it spills over in the New Testament. In my opinion as much as they hated Jesus and still do to this day, their INFLUENCE is throughout the Bible. Oh don't forget their influence is with Islam since Judaism, Christianity, and Islam are of Abrahamic religion. Who has the last word of it all? GUESS. Jews. Think about it folks. This is why we have antisemitism. The Middle East has been a hotbed of pain, despair, and agony since Abraham.

Actually, the fact that the disciples recorded that the women discovered the empty tomb is evidence itself. Because back in the day, since men are above women, it's actually embarrassing for the disciples to write about the women finding the empty tomb first. If it was a joke, then they would write themselves to have found the empty tomb. Otherwise, they would write about the empty tomb, get over the embarrassment and plenty of witnesses saw Christ after his death.

Doesn't matter who saw the empty tomb. It is written that Jesus was seen by as many as 500 witnesses at once, and appeared to others many other times in the 40 days after the resurrection. And he ate with them, showed them the nail holes in his hands and the gash in his side. There is no mention afterwards of those who put him to death. They were too scared to try it again. They knew it wouldn't work and there was nothing more they could do to him.

I’m afraid that Lee is being quite disingenuous with his ’evidence’. Paul’s creed in Corinthians is the closest point in tome to the death of Jesus. His witness is Peter, a known liar. There are no contemporary reports of Jesus outside of the Bible. Josephus and Tacitus are simply nodding towards the new sect. The resurrection accounts of John and Mark are quite different. There is so much wrong with all these accounts, including the birth of Jesus, that one could only conclude they were made up. I suspect that Lee did lead a terrible mental life up until his wife’s conversion and that he needed some sort of crutch to get through his problems. Those problems had nothing to do with atheism. It’s also possible that his wife’s conversion was a way to escape a bad domestic situation. All that Lee has shown that he was prepared to toss aside his critical faculties in order to resolve his own problems. He has added zero to the resurrection narrative.
