I'm an owner of a '22 NX350h fully loaded Executive model here in Canada. I have just over 47,000 kms or 30,000 miles. Yes the brakes are not very linear in their application in the first month or so of driving but after that they're great! The issue at hand here is that the car utilizes regen braking as much as possible obviously, but when the car is stopping all the way down to a complete stop the system finishes the last bit with the standard brakes run through hydraulics just as a regular ICE setup, as regen braking can't function all the way down to 0 mph. The brake pads 'grab' shall will say, or stopping force changes as the pads seat themselves as they wear into rotors. After this process is over the transition is seamless. My wife would yell at me for braking too hard when we first got it. I told her 'it's not me!' After a few tank fulls of gas or a couple thousand miles the brakes were fine. Whenever I get a loaner car when I'm in for service and it only has a few hundred miles on it I can feel the difference.

I recently bought a Crown Signia XLT; my wife drives the NX 350h (2025). The Lexus feels way more luxurious but she got the upgraded (not the premium) version--with a huge screen. The 2nd row is bigger and more comfortable in the Signia. There is more storage in the Signia. The price difference is around $9,000 (plus).

Can I ask you a question please?? Heck, I'm old and have been knees. I drive SUV's because I can sit up higher and get in and out of the car easily. But in a sedan, I can get in, but getting OUT of it can be a challenge of pulling myself up & out (or sometime I can "roll" out of the door and then stand up. Is the Crown Signia like driving a sedan? If it is, then that will kill it for my consideration. Thanks so much
@10tenman1012 күн бұрын
@2269tah I think of the Signia as a raised Camry wagon, albeit more luxurious and more comfortable. Rides nicely. I am giving my current CX90 to my daughter; it is way higher (sort of like the high feeling). No problem in getting in and out; the Signia is raised, albeit just a bit. My wife's NX350H is definitely higher and more luxurious but it was almost $10,000 more expensive.

While I can see the draw to the Lexus for some, I would be very happy with the luxury the Signia offers. However, I would be even happier if Toyota made an 'Estate' version of the Camry that could be had for around $35k (in LE trim) and could achieve around 50 mpg (that's not a pipe dream, some are achieving 60 in the sedan version). NOT another Venza, but a real wagon with a real useable cargo area like the Camry's of the 80's and 90's had. And available with or without AWD like every Camry is today.

I’ve seen a few crown signias on the road i belive all XLE and the wagon look is amazing however overall I absolutely hate the new hammerhead design language on this and the camry whereas the prius looks good with it. Also the Crown could benefit from amber turn signals like the NX has. Using the brake lights is a very inexpensive car thing to do. Bring the venza back already 😂
@djplonghead540312 күн бұрын
The lights for rear turn signals on the Venza are simply dangerous. They were out way too low for what people expect.
@wetzel8212 күн бұрын
@ While some people may believe this, the simple fact is Many vehicles have low mounted turn signals. Including semis when you are driving another semi. However any good driver can keep enough distance to see the rear tires of the car in front of them at a stop, and a further distance when driving. Therefore you should always be able to see the entire vehicle and the venza having amber turn signals make it more noticeable whereas in the crown signia people may not notice you have your blinker on in traffic where everyone is braking off and on. I find it hard to notice red turn signals especially when they’re flashing while braking.

I test drove the Signia and the NX350h Luxury and bought the latter. While the Signia is a very nice vehicle, it feels and looks too "Toyotaish" especially, when you get into the driver's seat and see their big logo on the steering wheel. . . the same logo you find on the Prius and other lower priced models. The Lexus feels more luxurious and is definitely quieter on all levels in my opinion, especially under modest acceleration. The NX feels more luxurious overall. The Mark Levinson stereo is sincerely concert quality and remarkably better than the JBL stereo which sounds very entry level in comparison. While everyone agrees the dependability of Toyota/Lexus is sensational, it's pretty obvious the few thousand dollars more spent on the NX buys you better quality, more advanced features not available on the Signia, and the Lexus resale will be higher at trade-in time. The touch sensitive steering controls for the heads up display are horrible. You have to touch it once then touch it again to select. And even close to being worth the $60k out the door price. The RX - same dislikes as the NX. Same price at my local dealer. Decent though. Much much better than the signia. But…none of them were nearly as nice to drive or see out of than a 2023+ Japanese built RAV4 XSE. It drove better, steered smooth, and was quieter than my Canadian made RAV4 XSE. Yes the center controls for the ac unit look like sausage nipples….but that’s fine with me. 2023+ RAV4 XSE built in Japan is much better than the three in the video. But my go to is the grand highlander hybrid AWD.

You do realize the Crown Signia is also exclusively built in Japan right?
@americandude382512 күн бұрын
@ yep. I know. The reason I say a Japanese built rav4 XSE is because they drive better, etx than the American and Canadian ones. Way better than my 2022 XSE from Canada.

Lexus ES 350 vs Crown please!
@cbotten106Күн бұрын
I'd just wait for Lexus to get their own version of the Crown Signia and buy that one. Might get a plug-in hybrid drivetrain in that one. Fingers crossed.

It is not fair comparison. Lexus Luxury model nearly 10k more than base model. You need to compare with Sicknia limited if you go to dealer Sicknia limited priced more than Lexus base model… this is so sick

Out of the 2, i prefer the Crown Signia. Crossing my fingers hoping toyota brings the Crown Sport to the US, bit not betting on it.

Neither for me. Good smooth linear brakes are super important to me. I drove the Tesla vehicles and hated those brakes too.
@WokeisaJoke052212 күн бұрын
I don’t know what he’s referring to, to be honest. I’ve owned two 2nd gen Venzas and a 2025 NX350h, both brake fine. The Lexus brakes for you when you’re getting to close to vehicles. It’s a bit sensitive, but I’m used to it. The car is doing more for me and I’ve gotten spoiled

The sad thing for me is, the crown is the better vehicle but nerfed so it doesnt step on Lexus' toes.

Crown Signia should have the RX's 17-gallon gas tank to maximize range, since these models are in the same size range... but Crown Signia just gets the typical 14.5 gallon Toyota tank.

The NX's interior looks shockingly cheap for a luxury vehicle, but I'd still take it over the Crown Signia. The NX also looks better on the outside and has the Lexus nameplate. But the thing that seals the deal for me is the Lexus is better regarding NVH.

If it's not considered an SUV that means you can't tint the back windows more than 35% and most states. That's one of the best reasons to daily drive an SUV.

man those wheels on the Signia look like an airport rental

I still hate the NX grill. I think the Signia has more cargo room, at least in terms of length. If you can't open the doors on the NX without power, that can be an issue in an accident.
@andersforsman428912 күн бұрын
I think the NX has Run Flat tires as standard, stiffer sidewalls is the key factor for the overall road noise and vibration in the cabin.
@WokeisaJoke052212 күн бұрын
You’re correct . I replaced the run flats on my NX with Cross Climate 2 from Michelin. Less road noise, better stopping power, smoother ride and better handling. But now if I get a flat I’m gonna have to try and repair it or use fix a flat. Side wall puncture means I’m calling Geico. Oh well.

I can’t say I agree or understand why KZbinrs (and I do like your channel a lot) compare a lexus to a Toyota. I know Lexus is made by Toyota but I don’t think it’s a fair comparison. I’ve had three 4Runners, a GX460 and now a LX570. Have friends and family with RAV4s, highlanders, RX, camrys, ES, etc. What I’m saying is I’ve owned or spent time in many Lexus and Toyotas. It’s not a close comparison. They are incredibly different. It’s not even close. I hate the LC250 vs GX550 comparison. I’ve ridden in both. It’s not even close. It comes off as nothing more than content filler. Again, I really enjoy ur channel though.
@Mylifeislegendary982vd3-vI12 күн бұрын
You are absolutely correct 💯 . even in this Case NX is miles better than any toyota
@lukenukem120712 күн бұрын
I think it’s useful to compare for viewers that are actually considering buying the products. Which is likely because a lot of people don’t want to venture outside Toyota/lexus due to reliability
@PWCDN12 күн бұрын
When price is factor in it does matter. Your argument is which one is better, of course the Lexus is better, else it wouldn't exist. These types of video is to determine if you want to spend the extra dollars or settle for a Toyota and keep more money in the bank.
@rrcbiker12 күн бұрын

The video is apparent that the gap between Toyota and Lexus is shrinking, and if consumers are willing to rally additional dollars for the Lexus badge.
@blackgold75411 күн бұрын
Ain't gon lie, I'd choose toyota crown or toyota models over Lexus. For me, only Lexus LC and Rx is the better vehicle. Because most stuff you get in lexus can be found intoyota anyway. The only thing unique is Lexus LC, which of toyota released a camry coupe, that'd be even better in hybrid.
@user-adam-12 күн бұрын
Exactly, Lexus NX. Crown is overpriced
@janc.8197Күн бұрын
The Lexus RX is much closer to the size of the Crown Signia. The Crown Signia is mid size while the NX is compact. Not understanding why you compared these two!
@ja6ix11 күн бұрын
Signia has all bells whistles techs, etc, but no f'n reclining rear seats? Does Toyota know how uncomfy it is on 8-10 hrs road trip without the ability to recline and sleep?

I have never liked the proportions of the NX, it just looks so stumpy and squished. The rear 3/4 view has odd proportions. The Signia looks more premium with better proportions and styling.

A ride that big with only one engine option? That was the same strategy with the Venza. Big mis-step. More power would be great.
