@@JokerG16 Nissan has always been about 4 years behind Toyota on updates and innovations. They are the discount brand and their reliability is not as good, however, their strategy is going to pay off big time right now because everyone is going to pivot if money matters. Honda, I don’t agree with you. Their issue is their dealer markups and MSRP creeping up on existing models. In my area, they are really marking up the Civic. Forget about getting a Civic Type R, they have about a $15k markup. Si has about a $2k markup. It’s ruining the brand. The other thing is that the Ridgeline is about $44.5k and it has basically been unchanged since 2017, so it’s not a bargain. The 2017 MSRP was $31.5k. That’s $13k more for the same exact same truck. A 41% price increase. It’s mostly a third generation Honda Pilot with about 3/4 of shared parts, so it actually is a developed product from pre-2015 R&D and tooling. Honda is not passing down any savings on R&D and tooling costs like Nissan has. They are selling more every year just because they have that V6 and a dead reliable transmission. People want a V6.

@@asajayunknown6290 the starting price for a 2024 CX-30 is $24.5k. $4.5k is not a big leap considering they were required to jam more tech in the vehicle since 2019. A 22.5% increase. You’ll never find one for under $30k though a dealer, but I found plenty of CX-30s for at or under MSRP. I just did a quick look. Basic economics, pricing has reached the point of diminishing returns. The dealer gouging has amplified the problem. Ford and GM have had similar labor issues with production due to strikes. The Range is way behind on production. Competition is high in the midsize truck market. This is great for consumers, bad for dealers and manufacturers.

I personally don’t have a problem with the turbo 4 as long as there’s the V6 option. And Toyota is probably getting to work with the reliability of the turbo 4 (hopefully!). I think the major sore spot for the Tacoma is the 20k jump in price. It’s just too expensive for being a Toyota pickup.

Could you please calculate inventory as days of sales on hand? That gives a basis of comparison to other models.

Too expensive, and not giving customers a choice. Most do not want a turbo.

Is there any connection with the new 4Runner and LC? Will these new models also suffer from the factors you listed - high prices, 4 cylinders, the economy…

Hey Kirk, first time commenting here but I watch most of your videos, is good to face the mud if you like the rain and I really like you addressing comments with negative feedback, please stay neutral and dont sell your soul to nobody......people are leaving toyota fan boys channels, after all the dust I am rightfully concern because I have a 2023 lease Sequoia and after 3 months I also purchase a 2024Tundra.......honestly I am concern about the failures. because I have 2 of the platforms and I can hear in both a small noise from the transmission like milling metals, the sound is very random and not constant......I know about mechanics and I know is not normal.....so yeah I am very concern

Classic Toyota and their price gauging. Not surprised. I bought a loaded half ton with OR package for 53k. Why on earth would anyone spend 50k on a Tacoma?

After giving the jump in truck prices over the years some thought I have come to some conclusions. Most people I know who own trucks are also employed in the construction industry and they use their trucks both as a work/family vehicle. Therefore have one single family vehicle it would explain why buyers were willing to pay higher prices so they could haul the family around in a more comfortable and luxurious style. The last few years the US government has been pouring money into the construction industry to pump up the economy. Now that the economy is slowing, so is the construction industry and the income is no longer there for trucks with all the bells and whistles. Time for manufactures to focus on more practical affordable trucks.

When you couple the interest rates with the new prices it’s not feasible to purchase a new Tacoma for many people. Because of the horrible interest rates they should have kept the pricing the same as the outgoing model.

The manufacturing issues are a blessing in disguise for Toyota. Otherwise there would more trucks sitting on lots. Toyota hides the price increase in options bundles but, compared to 2023 with inflation there $10K per model too expensive. Nissan for the win! - I can't believe I just said that.
@Ryan-cf6lc4 ай бұрын
It’s crazy to think about how much excitement there was for a new Tacoma. Now, only a few months later, everyone is pissed off and the trucks aren’t selling. Safe to say Toyota has dropped the ball on this one.

The biggest ball drop since new years. I really can’t believe they just decided to phase out the V6 entirely. I trust Toyotas engineering, they know what they’re doing - but to mark it up as superior to the prior generation by charging $10-$20k MORE? I doubt I’ll get my worth in reliability from that amount
@akila2194 ай бұрын
If it’s a V6 hybrid, I’ll probably buy one for that price but not a 4 cylinder turbo nor a hybrid max with 4cyl turbo.

This pricing and the deletion of features (no rear doors on the bonus cab 4x2) is causing a tidal wave of loyal toyota buyers to go across the street and shop for options where they would not have done that before

It’s the structure of the option packages on the trims specifically trd sport and trd off road, to get power seats it simply costs too much, now granted you get 12 way power for driver and passenger which is a big win but like 48k basically with 4WD to get power seats, at that point may as well get the limited and get everything for 53k
@andersonrodriguez82584 ай бұрын
