Yes I know, the music is horrible. Here's a more recent, and more ear-pleasing, video of the same location: kzbin.info/www/bejne/e2rNkmObrautmtE

@HoleInTheHead I loved your narration for Marcus. Spot on. What a badass. Also, how cool was that adventure? To not only meet new people, but to bond with the dogs as well. And such great dogs. Not even mentioning the experience.

Yes Marcus is truly a legend! Unfortunately he’s retired from being a full time guide. I’m hoping to talk him into a couple more trips here and there. The first trip I went on was by myself, but the people I met were amazing. We keep in touch through the summer and some of us return every year for another adventure. It’s great going out with 7 good friends. Doesn’t look like 2021 will happen, might have to skip a year.

Cool, liked the music too, but then I like most of those musical artists you use. I have a dog sled, but don't have enough dogs. They pull me on my bicycle and snowskates.

This kind of tours should be done at many places around the world with local dog breeds that love running or very high energy individuals. Maybe the sled could be something more like a bicycle. To help the beginners and un-experienced people could be used some kind of tandem frame, side-car or a front cargo bicycle. The match with nature and empowering experience for the visitor should be a new way to see self improvement and relate each other.

I live in Mexico city (temperate weather, rainy summer, cold nights and cold early mornings, cold to very cold winter). The hotter time can be found at spring and summer afternoons and even in the first middle of those nights. I promote the sledding behavior with my dogs. The first time it was with an akita and a mix (napolitan mastiff+akita). Those two male dogs loved to run and pull with all their heart, mind and soul. Nowadays my sister helps dog shelters to find new owners for some dogs and she chose two females to live with my parents, one is a malinois shepherd and the other is kind of a pit-bull. Both of them love to run like crazy, very very energetic, right next to a bicycle. They don't stop to smell every tree or make marks, evenly they rarely stop to release their digestive system content. And they always start running as hell after any stop lapse. I use a regular chest harness and a double 8 mm dynamic rope with two single lock carabiners. We have been training a 6 to 10 Km (3.6 to 6 miles) route every two days. And we have increased the route to 12 Km one every six sessions. The route is very hilly and, apparently, they don't like much middle day sun and temperature. Now that colder days are coming, I will try to improve their comfort choosing better time of the day, every time. I hope, with proper fitness training, we can reach easy going 20 Km (13 miles) soon.

Seem to me Hass-an was making a point & telling you not to go through that slushy area, Some areas in Sweden have just as Norway & Denmark a polluted river even thought some ponds whereof the thaw slush can hurt their paws, you'll notice when it hurts when they start moving their feet as of they would dance in the snow. Take care
@FocusOnAdventure

Yeah it was a tough spot. Since I was last in line the trail was in the worst condition and more spots had filled with water. The teams at the front of the line were able to make it through with less effort. The dogs don't exactly "listen" to the tourists and are trained to just follow the sled in front, so I didn't have the option to blaze a new path. We probably did about 5 miles that day, had 3-4 spots like seen in the video, so it was small sections of the overall day but very tough spots. I've been on 7 trips and that remains the hardest day by far (this video is my first trip). Our guide, Marcus, has always said that day remains the most difficult he's had over his career. He's the most experienced guide in the region and if there was another option he would have found it. So it's very unusual, we just got unlucky with conditions. As for the water, I certainly hope it's not polluted as that's our drinking water for the week! And yes I do think the water hurts their feet, as it will freeze between their paws and many times on breaks they will lick their feet trying to clear it. Thanks for watching!

There's not much you can do if you get out on the trail and get caught in a bad spot you didn't see coming. The deep snow covered the trail and we couldn't see where the water was. You help the team as much as you can and give the dogs lots of patience. Our guide also called in a snowmobile to drive ahead of us and make a better trail. We cut the day short and got back to base camp as quick as we could so that the dogs could rest.
