That's because it sucks. IMO. Gene and Paul were writing apart. It was a crappy concept album about the "chosen one". That concept was not written about very deeply. The producer never came into the studio to guide and direct or whoever he was due to free basing the hell outta coke. Was a real down time for Kiss but they recovered bigly!

According to his book, Steve Lukather of Toto performed the guitar solo on the album. And I believe it to be true since he is a very prolific and highly-skilled session guitarist, plus it's never been argued or disputed by anyone from Kiss so there's no reason for me to not believe it.

Killer tune. It actually got a lot of airplay in the Charlotte area late '81-early '82. Heard it regularly on the ride to high school. LOVE this album. Kiss was the best Kiss when they did the unexpected. Bought it when it dropped so I could check out the new drummer. Heavy!! Wish they'd made the movie. The comic book was stupid. I always assumed it was Medieval times - more of an Excalibur story.

it's not. they're miming a live performance that was pre-recorded. the key is to watch Paul's solo. at 1:56 he does this massive 4 note bend.... except he doesn't when he's miming here. his left hand barely moves. if you re-watch a few times.. you'll notice anomalies... it just doesn't match up.

@@andresassi526 you just typing the word "bullshit" doesn't change anything. they're miming to a pre-recorded track. if you watch Paul's solo and still think that this is 100% live, you're an even bigger idiot than what you appear to be.

Kiss are a very talented band and I didn't know they could do songs so beautiful like this until I looked into some of this same era of their music which was brief, but rewarding. I also say Angel are far superior to Kiss, but I think we need both bands and I wish we could have them now. Angel are kings and Kiss are kings I feel like crying when I look at what makes it today and I have cried. There was a time when bands like Kiss and Angel were very successful and I'm damned sad I was really just a young kid then. Memories flood back of the distant past. One of the best for me was when in 1988 I was being abused in school and I was 12 years old I got suspended from the shitty school I was in and came home that day and my dad handed me a copy of ROCK AND ROLL OVER. I laughed and laughed and laughed! I played it and grooved to it. I love flamboyance. Let's hear it for America's two best bands of the mid 70s through to eternity KISS and Angel. And please stop the hatred towards Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons they are the two founders of the band.

"A World Without Heroes" A world without heroes Is like a world without sun You can't look up to anyone Without heroes And a world without heroes Is like a never ending race Is like a time without a place A pointless thing devoid of grace Where you don't know what you're after Or if something's after you And you don't know why you don't know In a world without heroes In a world without dreams Things are no more than they seem And a world without heroes Is like a bird without wings Or a bell that never rings Just a sad and useless thing Where you don't know what you're after Or if something's after you And you don't know why you don't know In a world without heroes There's nothing to be It's no place for me

@Dave Garry: This song, and the concept album it was featured on, was an attempt by KISS to show the critics that they were accomplished musicians who could write about something other than tits & ass..... Unfortunately, in the process, they alienated a large portion of their fan base... To make matters worse, it was critically trashed and commercially a flop... As a KISS fan, I appreciate music from ALL incarnations of the band... "A World Without Heroes" is a beautiful song !!! :):):)

Hey Chris, I'm NATURE BOY C.J.Johnson, I'm trying to get this great song to become the anthem for our front line heroes. Where would we be without them, world wide. Lets make it a thing. Stay safe my friend, we're in this together. Much love from Jacksonville Fla.

Paul should play more solos, he may not have a fast and flashy technique but he has lots of feel...

Yes, this is pretty good, although I did hear a bum note or two, but you are right, lots of feel.

I just read the lyrics also. This is the most beautiful song ever written. A World Without Heroes Song by Kiss Lyrics Videos Listen A world without heroes Is like a world without sun You can't look up to anyone Without heroes And a world without heroes Is like a never ending race It's like a time, without a place A pointless thing Devoid of grace Where you don't know what your after Or if something's after you And you don't know why you don't know In a world without heroes In a world without dreams Things are no more than they seem A world without heroes Is like a bird without wings Or a bell that never rings Just a sad and useless thing Where you don't know what you're after Or if somethings after you And you don't know why you don't know In a world without heroes WOW

Once again I repeat myself by saying I think the movie soundtrack the Elder was kind of hidden in music history but had very notable moments . I thought it was different and actually pretty good. The people that like kiss love kiss I count myself as one of them people that don’t just don’t understand Kiss . But with the Music Separated from the make up I still think they were very solid band that could stand on their own especially the first few albums I respect kiss quite a bit. Also I just think that Ace Freley Deserves more respect than he actually got from everyone around him he was not necessarily a technically sound guy but that makes them all the better he did it with improvisation and very notable and identifiable leads. To me that’s the best way to be as a guitar player and I think he gets lost in history I’m definitely a big fan of ACE and Kiss

Gene had such a beautifully rich voice. It's really too bad he didn't use more instead of all that growling while playing the part of the God of Thunder!

Q dices imitadores! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🥁🥁🥁🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎤🎤🎤🎤🎤🎤
