I've been following this man and his band for 49 years, all my friends thought I was completely nuts, but they don't think I'm nuts anymore! They have been around all these years and still are working in their 70's! I'm in my 60's and plan to work as long as I can and like Gene I was always a curious person and still ask questions till this day about everything. I am a musician and worked in the music business in my 20's and decided it wasn't for me and went into dentistry...lol...I will stay in dentistry until I am ready to retire from working a four day week. Then I think I would like to work with animals in some capacity. Kiss is a piece of history that we will never see the likes of again! I'm so glad I was exposed to them and saw them as mentors, the message they sent was if you want it, you can get it, no matter what anyone tells you! Believe in Yourself❤

I wish a Diehard would interview the band. I want to hear KISS questions! For example, When Eric Carr joined the band was there any pressure for Eric to use Pearl drums instead of Ludwig drums? Why did Paul change from a straight mic stand to a boom mic stand beginning with The Elder thru the EOTR tour? And a ton more! Interview him again with more questions like this! Thank you.

Great businessman, SMART. HE AND PAUL very smart. Let's get that straight. But I must say, what strikes me is how grounded he is in his values. Yes he had his vice for women. But he has obviously grown into a wonderful devoted man. Kudos to you Gene. As a mom myself, married for almost 30 years, my husband and I know what it takes to be a devoted person. That's the most rewarding, challenging undertaking you can ever delve into. No one hands you a manual . You have a great Mom Gene. You did her proud.

The thing with Gene, if you want to bother with it of course, is to get over the image he wants to give of himself. All this theatricality, these puns, these interruptions, these awkward jokes, etc... It's all fireworks. For those who are interested, we then discover an endearing, curious, interesting, generous, sensitive and altruistic being. Unfortunately, not everyone has the patience or interest to make the effort to get past all these smoke screens and, sometimes, obscenity. But it's Gene. Take it or leave it. I, for one, find him endearing. How about you?

Gene Simmons was my idol growing up which is why i played bass guitar in bands Then I seen Simmons family Jewels I read many of interviews where he threw Ace and Peter under the bus Constantly .Ace ,Peter and Eric were and still the most loved members of Kiss Gene and Paul are egotistical Paul was the driving force and main song writer and Gene went along for the ride Gene was good at marketing kiss products
@Sgtwilsonn
@Sgtwilsonn 2 ай бұрын
he’s successful with business because of the band he co-created with the help of Bill Aucoin, Sean Delaney and Neil Bogart fifty years ago. Everything he’s tried to do by himself has been a flop. Simmons Records, flop. Tongue Magazine, cancelled after four issues and they refunded everyone. Celeb Apprentice - got fired on the third episode. Who Wants to be a Millionaire - bombed out after the fourth question and won zero for his charity. All the albums he produced - Black n Blue, Loz Netto etc - all flops. Simmons/Abraham Marketing - flop. Everything he has ever done not directly related to KISS has flopped. Paul even says in his book the biggest success Gene ever had was convincing everyone he was a business guru. It’s all nonsense.
@regaltip8A

Finally some truth lets not forget that Bill Aucoin had debts over $20 000 in the early 70s to keep the band running. If he had pulled the plug Gene would be teaching elementary school somewhere.

Well Gene has always been honest about those ventures as you just mentioned. He admitted that in Me Inc. However that's how it is with business, you win some and lose some. You failed to mention he scaled Kiss merch to another level. He has also invested successfully in many things such as stocks and real estate. The Gene Simmons Family Jewels was also succesfull to some degree. He is not afraid to fail. But yeah the KISS thing is his mothership. He's got some things to be proud of for sure.

Same script, same hiding behind the man, 'it's a pleasure talking to me' blah blah blah... the guy would never let anything out, and he definitely won't let anybody in. The real him and the finding out of who he really is will never transpire in front of a Camera. Never. Gene is a giant cliche. he is not nearly as interesting as he thinks. I would love to have m et his mother. She sounds lovely! He is all his own fault.

This makes me ashamed to be a former kiss fan. Gene is needlessly so tacky and obnoxious throughout this whole interview, and here I am thinking he lightened up over the years. Not so. Apparently, he's still desperate for any kind of attention he can get. It's a shame. I loved his band, but I don't like the way they act, like they're better than everyone else, and especially the treatment of women. I can sum up every single kiss song in one sentence: "Every woman wants me". Classic overcompensation. And before one of their fanboys squeaks up, you can have hundreds of millions of dollars and thousands of sexual conquests and still be desperately insecure.

@@vinylman6580 he’s successful with business because of the band he co-created with the help of Bill Aucoin, Sean Delaney and Neil Bogart fifty years ago.

Unfortunately, Gene doesn't follow the 7000 words a day for a man. The older he gets, he rambles on for 4x as long as it takes to answer the question. His interviews are becoming unwatchable.
