I don't think anyone knows more about KISS than I do. Peter: I'm sorry. What was that? Lois: It's not important. Peter: Let him answer, Lois! Dave: I said, no one knows more about KISS than I do. Dottie: Fellows, please keep it civil. Peter: I'm not sure I like the tone of your voice, Dave. Dave: Well, throw down, if that's what you want. Peter: Name Gene Simmons' special-effects mentor. Dave: Amazo the Magician. What high school did Paul Stanley go to? Peter: New York High School of Music. Paul and Gene's band before KISS? Dave: Wicked Lester. What year did KISS appear on the Jim Nabor's Halloween special? Peter: Trick question. It was Paul Lynde, and it was 1975. Now recite the ad that brought Peter Criss to Paul and Gene's attention. Peter & Dave: "Drummer willing to do anything to make it." Rolling Stone, October, 1972. Dave: Exemplary. Peter: Rock 'n' roll!

In 1979, four of our high school math teachers dressed as KISS for Halloween. To this day, I can remember them standing together at the school assembly. KISS was such a big deal in those days. My younger brother convinced my talented older sister (home from college) to paint the tongue logo on the outside of his bedroom door. To the credit of my very conservative parents, they allowed him to leave it in place and didn't scold me sister for doing it. His bedroom was at the other end of the hallway from my room, so I was greeted by Gene Simmons tongue each morning. Rock and Roll All Nite (youth's anthem) and Beth are my KISS favorites.

Kiss was my first favorite band. My family got me Guitar Hero III for my birthday back when I was in elementary school because of the interest I had shown in the rock music that my parents played around the house, and I was introduced to many a great song and band. But it was this one that really solidified it for me. Rock music is still my favorite musical genre, and I was fortunate enough to see Kiss and Def Leppard in Detroit several years ago with my grandfather. I can say without question these guys were still as amazing on stage then as they were in their heyday. I may not have been alive to see it, but all you really need to keep that magic alive is to have fun, and they very clearly were.

This video shows a kind of history of the band KISS. When the song was originally done, it was Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Ace Frehley, and Peter Criss. In a KISS emulator band, I was doing the part of Paul Stanley, and like him, I was the lead singer. We did this song at every concert we did. That's because it not only is a Rock n Roll Anthem, but a really good and super fun one! This is what Rock was created for. Thanks for your reaction! I enjoyed every second of it.

A kid in my class brought the single ( yes a 45 rpm vinyl platter ) and we wore that thing out. I was in 6th grade. I was a KISS fan for life. There is no telling how much different my life would have been if not for this song. BTW... I performed it with various bands both on bass and drums and did lead vocals too.

Jamal, It is interesting that you said it sounded more like an anthem, than a regular song. That is because that is exactly what Rock and Roll all Nite is. After their second album their manager was talking to them and told them they Needed an Anthem... a song that told the world what KISS was about, what they stood for so to speak. As Paul said in an interview, the whole thing sounded alien to him, but thought about it for a while. Both He and Gene tinkered around with it and one of the most well known Rock songs was born. Cheers!!

I begged for a Gene Simmons doll for Christmas 1979. Catherine, who was my mom, got it for me! She was the best!

KISS and RUSH toured together for something like 72 shows. They got along well and both bands shared a hunger and passion for the music and everything that came along with it in the early 70s. Except that the members of RUSH we're married or in committed relationships, so they steered the groupies in Gene's direction. Joking.

Psycho Circus was a good one! My dad had a couple of 8 tracks of KISS. I was 3 or 4 when I put the headphones on and I was hooked on rock and I loved KISS. Probably shouldn’t have been listening at that age but I didn’t understand what they were singing about yet. Lol

This was KISS's first hit and more or less became their theme song.

The studio version of this song was released in 1975 and only made to #69. Kiss re-eleased this song as a live version which became their first top 40 hit that reached #12 in 1976.
