Guys I saw them in 1977 one of my very first concerts I was barely 12 - Gene Simmons spit fire and blood - their showmanship was insane - their boots and accoutrements were sculpted pieces of art and they could actually jam - they have decades of hits - Strutter, Dr. Love, Hard Luck Woman, Detroit Rock City, etc. - you couldn't swing a dead cat without hitting a KISS song somewhere😂

Kiss are a good rock band. They took theatrics to another level. In terms of musicianship, there are other better rock musicians but as performers? They are right up there with the best of them!

They said it themselves, they were more performers than great singers. Ace Frehley really is a great guitarist. They were masters of promotion. They do have better songs though than this, even if it is their most played song on the radio. "Detroit Rock City", "Strutter '76", "Cold Gin", "God of Thunder" and "Calling Dr Love" are all better early songs of theirs, IMO.

Although I love so many bands, this will always b my fav. You gotta try, watching u, I stole your love, let me go rock and roll ....but live versions of these 3 are the absolute best...or 100,000 years, Black Diamond and many more...

Early (original members) Kiss is where it's at. Take away the make-up and you still have a pretty good rock band: Ace being the most talented of the bunch....in my opinion. They are great promoters of themselves and have a great mind for business. My favorite song by them, which shows their musical ability, is "Rock Bottom" from the "Dressed to Kill" album. That album also has the studio version of "Rock and Roll All Night." My favorite album by them, though, is "Rock-n-Roll Over."

I've seen kiss 40 times in 11 different countries. You might not like them but they still sellout shows after 50 years. They have the most gold albums of any American band. Their popular songs are Detroit rock city, rock nroll all night, I was made for loving you, lick it up, some others love gun, strutter, duece, heavens on fire tears are falling, forever, war machine, I love it loud, cold gin. Hide your heart, some obscure ones, strange ways, naked city, dirty living, thrills in the night, rock n roll hell, once you see them live, you get it.

Okay, so y'all made this video 7 days ago and y'all only know this one song by them? Hmm... This is gonna be difficult already... lol Firstly, I was never a huge fan of "Rock and Roll All Night," I like it sure, but it's not their best, plus the video is a hodgepodge from various performances and times of their career. Not a great representation but not necessarily inaccurate either because they were wild. Since this song first appeared on their Dressed to Kill album, y'all should listen to "Room Service" and "Rock Bottom"... But my favorites from their discography (and in my opinion strongest tunes) are "Strutter", the whole Destroyer album tbh (Detroit Rose City, Beth, etc) and "Cold Gin" amongst others. I always thought KISS was a fantastic band. KISS ARMY!! 😁 They had a visual idea to differentiate themselves from the rest and it worked! Yes, they were over-saturated like a mother****** which made people not take them seriously but they're still great. The showmanship isn't hard to reconcile with the music because it perfectly complements each other. You need both. Personally, I never considered them overrated because while definitely popular in the industry; I say mostly amongst other rock fans, definitely with a lot of musicians too, they're not that highly praised. Some, er many people legit hate KISS. lol And I mean that's fair... I think they're too hard to ignore but that doesn't mean you shouldn't listen to their full catalog.

If you're going to do KISS, then you need to do Spinal Tap. 😂 They were very mediocre musically, but they had some songs and they had The Act. I was a huge fan as a teen. Now I'm embarrassed to tell anyone.

The video sucked. It didnt relate to this song at all. That said, been a fan since I was prob 7, of course. What 7 year old boy didn't like these guys just cuz of their looks and merchandise? Lunchbox, posters, action figures... you name it. But they do have some really good songs - Strutter and Cold Gin are just a coup I love. Their stage show is phenomenal !!! Live video of original Kiss is prob pretty rare. Music videos like this are horrible. Gene and Paul (star eye guy) are incredible marketers. It wouldn't surprise if most of their money comes from licensing deals, merchandise and the like - rather than the music and concert sales. It was kind of a big deal to be in the KISS ARMY when you were a kid in the 70s. That was the first time they took 50 cents out of my pocket. The last time they got some cash was at a show the year before the world shut down. Can't wait til they come back. They def have enough great songs to fill a concert lineup with plenty to spare. As a lifelong fan I hate to admit that most of the music is, eh. Some of it, especially the disco years, absolutely sucks. Their earliest music with the original lineup was their best imho. Musically Kiss is over rated, in my opinion. What they did do was put on a great show. They shook up the buttoned up pop look with glam/theatre rock and shocked mainstreet. It worked. Gene Simmons was a master marketer. I would love for y'all to react to Aerosmith. One of my favs is "Back In The Saddle". It is one of their earlier songs

Linkin park helped out hip hop in the 90s and early 2000s…. They helped by bringing it to all the repressed metal heads and ppl who couldn’t see past their own realities to understand that it doesn’t matter what “genre” we all decidedly chose in our early years…. Music is good as long as it done correctly and thought out. They brought scratches and fx to rock and pop music showing ppl all good musicians are artists and shouldn’t have “genres” to stick to or solely be that way. It’s all just sounds we like to play with and hear no matter who’s listening. Enjoi it all and find REAL (not auto tuned) musicians and explore all styles.

kiss was a marketing group who played so so music. musically highly overrated but they sure could sell lunch boxes, trading cards and pretty much anything else they could stick their logo on. ace was def the best musician of the group, paul was next. ironically their best song (imo) was sung by their least talented member - Beth, check it out

This is song is a compilation video from their exposed video. And it’s in their name kiss keep it simple stupid, they were never great musicians 3 chord band and made millions of dollars. Their live show is off the charts, catch them out on the same song under the Brooklyn Bridge astronauts said they could see the fireworks from the space shuttle, the fire, pyrotechnics, blood vomiting, breathing fire, the Ace playing his guitar while on fire, rocket shooting guitars it was a party. Kiss couldn’t sell records until Alive! Came out. Detroit Rock city is about a guy dieing on the way to a kiss concert true story, god of thunder with gene vomiting blood during his solo. They close their show with r-n-r all night there is so much pyro, fireworks going off, fire balls and confetti everywhere you can’t even see the stage the guy with the star smashing his guitar on stage and the fireworks going off every time he swings the guitar down towards the ground until he smashes it and throws it out to the crowd. Kiss blows up the stage. You go to one kiss show you’ll be a fan, you’ll never see anything like this again. All the bands you see live have taken something from kiss but kiss will always be the original that came up with all the special effects, even did a tour in 3D gave you the glasses when you came in, no one did anything like this before they were the originals creating a concert they wanted to see but never got the opportunity to see when they were fans seeing other bands
