That's not a mahogany log the bark scales are way to big and the wrong color . Mahogany has much smaller darker bark scales. I'm pretty sure this is a tamarind tree log we're looking at

If you went there and told those workers to stop working cause they deserve to have a safe work environment, they laugh at you and go right back to work. If they did threaten to quit, they’d be let go and 30 other people will happily take their place. Safety is only a priority when you can afford it.

Nowadays safety has gone beyond silly in North America. This is part of the reason everything is so expensive here: It takes 6 men to do the job of 1 because it's safer that way. And for any job you need to purchase 5 or 600 dollars worth of safety equipment. If these guys want to work wearing flipflops and baseball hats, power to them. They are able to purchase safety boots etc should they choose to.

This tree was probably taken illegally. But who cares. That tree is most likely over 300 years old. Older than the age of the United States. But who cares. At least Some people will have fancy floors that most people would not even notice. These trees are on the endangered list. And I'm sure the land around it was raped as well 😢
