I wouldn't call it a moral -- that would constitute right and wrong -- and while the thought is poignant, and certainly romantic (in the actual sense of the word), it does seem a rather cliché platitude, and personally, I would think it arrogant to not fear death: there is nothing wrong with being terrified of finality.

Death loomed over her. Over the many years that it followed her she got closer and closer to it. Sleeping along side her, being with her while she ate, and watching over her family. Over time she grew old, weary, or sick. She knew it was time... As her family left the forest to graze she stopped. Pausing only for a moment and looked back to the death that had watched over her. She walked towards it calmly. She had lived her life; with understanding and trust she embraced death. The friend that would come for her and all that followed.

You know how people say your more close to death then ever as you sleep or blink? That's how death sticks with us. It's there through the whole journey and that's how death was used in this video I guess it looks like the deer was saying thanks in the video and it's a sweet moment but that's where it rests. In my opinion, the character of "Death" touches the animals not to kill them but because he wants to touch something, to play, to have an embrace. This is clearly evident when he touches the flower and it withers immediately, shocking him. So in the end, the deer chooses him to touch and give him the embrace he was seeking. It was time for her to die. This is apparent because the deer seems to tremble and not be well when the others depart. Very, very touching from every perspective.

Hmmm, perhaps, but the bird on the ground looked pretty bummed about it. I think when he touched the flower and it died, it was a mistake, and death questioned its own judgment for a moment. This allowed the doe to continue living, and death time to fall in love and cherish her. But when the doe welcomed death's embrace, it brought death back to the reality of what its purpose is.

He wasn't ashamed of himself. He just realized that he held the power of taking life with one touch of his hand. And it's not that he wanted that power, in fact you could see that he struggled with it, but it was his task and he understood it and knew what it meant. In the end, he reluctantly gave rest to his best friend, and felt the grief of it. I think if I had to think of it in a spiritual sense I could imagine G-d loving us just as death loved the little deer. But like death, G-d realizes that He must deliver us to our death. Though it hurts, he does it. But it doesn't mean He doesn't love us. It's simply our time.

Borrowed Time-Memento mori, (Latin for 'remember that you [have to] die’) James 4:13-15 13 Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a town and spend a year there and trade and make a profit”- 14 yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes. 15 Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that.” Most of us live as though there is no tomorrow. We simply have no concept of a world without us and yet each second the clock ticks away is one less second off our lives and as King David said, "It is soon cut off, and we fly away."(Bible Verse Psalm 90:10). Our whole existence is a gift from God. From the day of our birth until the day of our death we are on borrowed time. ("It is appointed unto man once to die"). One of the great questions of all time is, What is the meaning of life? This greatest of all philosophical questions is answered in the greatest of theological books. (Eccl. 12:13) -- "Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man." (Mark 12:30) -- "And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength." The wisest use of our borrowed time is to invest it in the love and worship of our Creator. The Swahili language of the Bantu people of East Africa has a unique way of translating Psalm 31:15 which reads: "My times are in thy hand". They translate it, "My whens and hows are in thy hand." Poem: The clock of life is wound but once, and no man has the power To tell just when the hands will stop at late or early hour. To lose one’s wealth is sad indeed. To lose one’s health is more. To lose one’s soul is such a loss as no man can restore. It is said that, on the average, 39 people died in the time it took to read that little poem. Every hour almost 6,000 people go to meet their maker. You could have been one of them and sooner or later you will be. Are you ready? (Amos 4:12) -- "Therefore, thus will I do unto thee; and because I will do this unto thee, Prepare to meet thy God." Psalm 103:15-16 As for man, his days are like grass; As a flower of the field, so he flourishes. When the wind has passed over it, it is no more, And its place acknowledges it no longer.

Death seems like a genuine dude who wants nothing but a friend, but simply can’t have one because of his killing capabilities. Despite that, he tries his hardest to fit in with the rest of nature, but doesn’t seem to do it very well. The only “friend” he had was a deer, who didn’t mind him coming near her. At the end, she seems to fully embrace the fact that she is old and accepts her fate, giving death something he always wanted.. a hug.

During my nap I heard sounds of her by her bed and then what sounded like her walking around the room. 30 minutes later the doctor called and told me she went into cardiac arrest and attempts to resuscitate were unsuccessful. The horrible thing is that death new what it's job was. It was ok with the fact that it killed anything it touched... until it took the time to learn about the creature. Of course... when the deer excepted death, and the deer died... death knew that it's job isn't to kill. It's job is to know when a soul is finished on the Earth and end it's pain. People say that death is a scary thing. I disagree. I think it's beautiful. This was an absolutely beautiful animation of what deaths life would be. It moved me to tears. Well done. Well done.

Heres what I interpret... Death was doing its usual routine of taking the lives of the old animals whos time has come. It can sense when an animals time has come, so when he sensed a nearby animal, it went to take its life, only to realize it was a doe. Surprised and mesmerised by her beauty, death forgot what it came for and instead followed the doe for a while, becoming her friend. After a cold winter, spring blossomed, summer passed, and finally fall arrived. But the doe found no strength to continue, as her days were now truly over. She was at her peak in life, and turned to face death as it tilted its head. The doe got closer to signify that she was ready, but death didnt want to kill its beautiful friend. Nevertheless, something must die in order for something else to live. The doe dies in the arms of death, peacefully, leaving a broken hearted death, who mourns for the doe before he accepts that she is somewhere where the meadow is always green. This was my interpretation.

I clearly got lost on KZbin again because I just found this video and I literally used to watch it in 2017 when I was third grade, this is crazy. This animation is still very beautiful I still love it❤

Lmao it sneaked up on me. At first I was like, "meh" then as I realized the deer was acting more and more tired I said, "oh no!" That ending got me though, when she tried to come to him and he didn't want to do it.

I notice that everything Death touches dies peacefully. I wonder if there's another Death that takes the souls of those who die in chaos.

? it's an animation in the wild there is no peacefull deaths... only humans find a way to do peacefull deaths, with chemistry

lol, i was playing video games, and wanted to listen to music at the same time, and the the music video for it showed this, so i looked it up, and thought "huh, this shouldn't be so bad" and at the end, started crying my heart out, because that poor deer wanted to make death happy (at least i think so)

I don't think I've ever cried this much over an animation. It's so beautifully done. The relationship between Death and Life is a complicated one, but both serve their purpose at the right time. When you know it's time, it's ok to embrace Death, to let Death embrace you.

It's so emotionally developed. I was stunned after watching it for nearly thirty eight seconds. Its Central Idea is very clear that we shall not be afraid of death if we learn to live a life. I respect the creators who have put so much efforts in creating this animation. Keep spreading Positivity in everyone's minds
