I have a pampered chef measuring cup plunger type thing and I hate using it so much but it is great for things that are difficult to get out of a measuring cup like say peanut butter. It literally gets every bit of it. My best friend got me those liquid measuring cups (they are larger, are from 1 cup to I think 4) so you can pour liquid in and see while it's flat on the counter exactly when to stop pouring. I use those for liquids, regular measuring cups for dry and measuring spoons for spices. Never let me down.

The point of a measuring utensil is to be exact to be able to level it out. All your measuring spoons and cup are exact so this cube being exact only makes sense. You're supposed to spoon flour into the measure device anyway, not scoop with it. Flour reacts oddly to pressure and humidity. In fact, better to measure by weight than volume, but regardless, spooning and leveling off is preferred to scooping directly.

@sandrastreifel6452 2 жыл бұрын
I was taught in Home Ec that to measure flour accurately, you need to spoon it into the measuring cup and level it off with a knife, not use the cup to scoop. That will put more flour in your bowl than the recipe calls for, sometimes this can cause baking failures! Pancakes are pretty forgiving, though… Where are you going to store this cube???

I actually printed this on my 3D printer a few years ago. They definitely ripped it off. I don’t need it for dry ingredients only wet ones, and it works perfect for me. I still have my original one and use it a few times a week.

The next gen measuring gadget is called a digital scale, if it's using the metric system it's even more precise. This is the solution for perfect pancakes and perfect anything related to measuring, you are welcome Imperial comment section. (Nothing on the video, love your content).

We've been cooking fine with imperial though? Notice the insecurity as it is typically people going "why use imperial, metric is betterrrrr" for no good reason.
@lithiumfury
@lithiumfury 2 жыл бұрын
@@amak1131 I agree anyone should use the system they are comfortable with, it's more of a recommendation for those that really struggle with the imprecision of the imperial system and overall "measuring tradition" using spoons and cups.

I have 3D printed a few of these and agree with your review. They have moments of being useful but mostly they require other tools to measure. I ended up designing my own stackable ones that’s split the quarter and third measurements into their own measuring cups and just left the small measurements off since most of the time a spoon would work better.

As a Canadian, I laughed when you said "US and metric". Saw a conversation in the comments of a video recently where an American was being snarky about the metric system. He said it was "stupid", and "..who uses it anyway..." Ummm....🤔😄

This was never intended to be a product but a cool diy concept for you to test your 3d printer with. Its a cool thing to print when you have a 3D printer as a demonstration, but they stole the free open design to sell as a product

The problem with all-in-one gadgets is that they try to solve problems that don't exist. The sheer amount of "benefits" ultimately result in a clunky product that can perform each task passably well, but nowhere near as well as the individual tools.

I have one I printed on my 3D printer. I use it fairly often and it's pretty decent. The main reason I have it is so I don't have to use the wife's measureing spoons and cups because God knows she's got a list of rules and regulations for her kitchen stuff that would make Sheldon Cooper blush with envy. I can use my cube, rinse it out and toss it back in my drawer.
