I totally agree with the sound of a slamming screen door! It is essential! Luv this home. Such a labor of love. Congratulations!

Wowowowowow I have so much appreciation for wood paneling now. Lynda has such a sensibility for classic design. The vertical slats seemed so dreary coming out of the 70s and 80s but the finish in your execution on your walls creates so much warmth in this space. You can just imagine it really coming to life on a cozy winters day. Would be the BEST getaway for the holidays.

Rustic refined aesthetic like the homes of the Rockefellers in the Adirondacks or Edsel Fords vacation home now owned by Martha Stewart in Seal Harbor, Maine. Full of wood, comfy sofas and wicker with a moody atmosphere. This home will be fab in the winter with the fireplaces lit. This is what an antique lake house should look like for all those who think there's to much wood!

I like the kitchen! Especially the armoire. There’s just a lot of wood in there. I hope some of the furniture is lighter to break up the heaviness.

I’ve found that those pop-up stove exhausts really don’t work that well. I do like that kitchen, though. Great finishes, not cookie cutter “look of the year” (ie in 2 years people will proclaim it to be “dated”) stuff.

Not much work to oil counters but emphasising easy access to bowls in open shelves? How often do you need a midnight snack that you need drawer lighting? Two dishwashers? If you are worried about dishes sitting out then just do them in the sink!

What a lovely lake house, but since lake houses turn out to be some of the deadliest places in the USA, as any horror flick affirms . . . IDK, perhaps you need a machete cabinet and a grimoire to have all of your bases covered.

your home beautiful.. however you should learn better ways to live with nature, really it is not your tree, but belongs to all of those who need it to survive. killing caterpillars, kills butterflys or moths. so rude.
@marcirobins51443 жыл бұрын
Right. Go back to the city. Nature is the original beauty. It was there first, and it will remain long after the “cottage” is gone.

Some caterpillars destroy trees. Our whole area is dealing them right now. Hopefully the trees leaves all return next year and we don't lose any due to the non native infestations. The bugs can't keep up!
@chaank10693 жыл бұрын
The forest and tree department came to her property and those “caterpillars” are not the butterfly ones. She said they crawl up the tree trunk. Those type destroy the tree and what she did is a good decision.

Well, it has lost its charm. Entirely. So far so ugly it's hard to believe it took money to achieve. But you're not finished so perhaps I speak too soon.
@mbryan49643 жыл бұрын
@@holographic80s My response wasn't meant to be funny. I'm truly aghast at how the charm and ambience of a gentile life was stripped. The kitchen is not balanced, and the outside color scheme looks like a primer base coat that they never got around to painting. The brief look at the shower tile color and cube design and space utilization was shocking. The sconce choice lowers the ceiling and makes a cave of the home every evening...it's not going to rain inside. Changing to a glass shade was a thank goodness moment. Wants old charm while stripping it out but saving it by not lighting a cabinet doesn't seem thought through. Again, it's not finished so there's hope.

@@holographic80s Your character projects. So more sincerity than you are hearing. The first episodes support my hope in the finished project. I stand on the sincerity of my shock at the charm that has been stripped. It was wholly unexpected. It was classic lakeside early 20th century charm that's turned to a how not to over do the updating process.
