Some good tips. I took my fins off a few years ago and found how more playful the board was . Learnt a lot like you said about understanding the board and pop. I now ride with wake fins as I don’t like the feel with big fins 😀

I love the last tip. You can't spell Legendary without Leg Day! Also the first tip is great, I also rode without fins and when I put them back on, a lot of tricks based on the release (like the backroll) became a lot more consisdent. But I'm sure I fully agree with less rockered, stiffer boards give better pop. It depends on the type of trick. For unhooked tricks where the kite is parked load, and the take-off is going downwind slightly followed by a progressive edge upwind on flat water, then a highly rockered, stiff board would give the best pop. For hooked in tricks, where the kite is sent to 12 and pulled in, and the take-off is going upwind, building lots of line tension and then going even more upwind to take off in choppy or wavey conditions, then I think a board with flex in the tips would be best in the chop. I think rocker also helps on the release, but you can gain more speed riding with a less rockered board which allows you to jump high. Do people feel the same way?

That last tip is the key! Developing the posterior chain will work wonders for any athletic endeavor! Not to mention the other benefits such as injury prevention and greater work capacity. You can have the the most ideal set up in the world but you can’t pop much if you’re tired after a half hour of riding🤣

True that! This winter I plan on doing some videos on my training regime. I’m not sure how well received they will be but I’m going to anyway haha! I was kind of surprised to see how few kiteboarders view the sport as a sport. 😂 - Rygo

Very true, kiteboarding is a sport and core strength is fundamental. I cannot imagine expecting a progress from myself without solid training regime like fitness and running.

Really good advices not so obvious but thats a value! Back in time when I was a snowboard pro I also played a lot in basketball and train my vert jump as crazy to dunk. And this basketball jump trainings adds to my big air jumps a looooot of power I fly higher and longer than anybody else. So 3rd advice is for sure works 100%.

random question, does anybody feel like they are over using their forearm muscle, specifically close to wrist when making small adjustments? Mine feels weird for about a week now since the last session and I was curious if it was a common thing?

Yes for one hand control using the weaker arm. Wrist strengthening & stretching exercises seem a good idea.

Very useful video! The last tip is really the most important one. Can you tell me where can I find some kite-related workout programme? Thanks in advance. :)

A big mistake people do on pop, including my self is not Loading effectively and just rather stomp the back foot and let the air do the rest, especially when overpowered. When ever i have the chance to kite in light wind i practice my load and pop as its clear if you do it well or not with out air helping you out.
