Is the Hyundai i30N Good Enough to Sway a Type R Enthusiast?

as a type R and s2000 owner....who has never driven the I30n as I am in America. I felt the i30N is more representative as package of what a Honda hot hatch should of been. Not that the Fk8 is not good looking, but the sheer size/dimension of it, and lack of hand brake makes me think I'm in an Accord R. With the Fl5, it certainly can be said it IS an Accord R.

Yeah the new FL5 is a good mix of the overstyled FK8 but more featuresome and liveable i30N

If you go into the N mode you can set all the settings to the most aggressive but have the suspension on the softest. Thats the go for the street.

A worthy competitor to the Type R is the Megane RS, especially the MK3 with its Cup chassis and actually quite good reliability.

I was driving one few weeks ago. I never expected to be as good as i heard. I was really in love in it. Great gearbox, power, engine, handling. And you can live with it normally. One downside was i really didin't want to go out haha Great review, hope that channel will grow!

@@KiwiCarLife dct elantra N can do a 0-60mph sub 4.7 which is astounding for a fwd car. I guess it depends what the driver wants. In my case i dont like having to drive manuals so im going with either a kona N or elantra N.

In Australia, a 2018 i30 n goes for about 35 to 40 k AUD. A Civic FD2R (8th gen civic) is similar pricing. If i had the money, i would take the honda for sure.
