The comment sections reflect how most people misunderstood Yonas. His intention is not to lead people to sin. He has a based argument. His is saying "Orgies/ Komos the word translated in to ' Zefagnenet' in our Amharic Bible translation is not equivalent to secular music." Pr. Solomon in turn argued that the word zefen in our context as broad as it is can represent secular music. We cannot deny that in the Old testament Israel as a nation had cultures involving singing songs not related to worshiping God and these were mentioned in the Bible without getting neither condemnation nor approval. I'd want to add this: what's morally acceptable even for us evangelical Christians is not necessarily derived from the Bible alone. Culture, language and social issues cannot be neglected.These factors profoundly affect how we interpret the Bible. I'm not saying let's see some secular songs as morally acceptable; I'm just saying let's try to understand what Yonas is saying before calling him names.

Secular music has a very dangerous way of manipulating our minds. Yes there are some secular songs that talk about sexual sinus and immorality in general, that is obviously a sin. But the ones some people put out as "the good ones" are actually a lot more dangerous. They have a way of making us believe in 'fate' rather than "faith" they make us believe that all you need is to be good and there is no need of believing in God. So we can believe in luck rather than grace. So my point is, secular music is a sin period.
