You should do a compilation video of all your "balance tests". You are the only reviewer who throws pretty much everything you test. I'm new to throwing knives, so I'm enjoying learning what can and cannot be thrown well (aside from dedicated throwers).

A lot of jurisdictions don't permit "combat" knives. So the description is probably intended to skirt that.

When I was a teenager, I had an 8" Bowie knife and i juggled it, threw it, chopped with it, sliced with it and generally used and abused it. That was 40 years ago. I still have it,and wouldn’t be parted from it, but guess what? It has a loose pommel. In40 years it hasn’t come off, or seemed like it might, but that is what happens when you abuse things.

That’s a good honest review on that knife. But, for the money, I’d go with an Eric Outer designed knife of the Outer Limitless channel. His outdoor/indoor bushcraft and camping/survival knives are built, tried and tested to do what you were doing here successfully. He has a whole line of knives in different sizes. That’s a knife I’d like to see an independent and honest review of.

Thanks for the thorough review. This is certainly a tactical/combat knife. It will serve some outdoor needs in survival situations, bit generally is not made specifically for that. Btw, the first few strikes you made produced a lot of sparks, just ned to find the right angle, i guess... Well, that handle thing is annoying at least... Was looking at it, but will probably pass - there's a bunch of knives that are better and cheaper.

You can’t easily tighten up the handle but you can use a needle to slowly seep some crazy glue between the scales and the blade handle - let the glue seep and quickly wipe off the extree - and you have a great little stabber - I would replace the scales but that might effect the retention - at that point a nice kydex sheathe would be the next move - this could be a great knife if the spear point was professionally sharpened same as the tip

I believe that the groove down the middle is called a blood channel to allow the blood to flow from a the target if the knife is mistakenly left in the target. And the 1st thing i would do is sharpen the false upper edge.Well if battoning it caused the handle or blade to become loose its not worth the money they want. Its worth about 25 to 30bucks in my mind.If you cant baton a knife to split wood in a pinch then the knife is not worth the money as a survival knife. It should be able to be used for any need in the outdoors if its considered an outdoor survival knife. Thanks for the honesty and im glad i have my Strongarm! lol

Good review. Definitely targeting the wrong market by calling that an outdoor or survival knife. Like you said, whether you are in the batoning camp or not, it's good to know if the knife can stand up to it. In a true emergency survival situation you may not have your full kit with a hatchet for splitting kindling, etc.

I myself do not like a knife that has parts that gets loose or can't be fixed easily. I like the blade style with the point in the center for drilling. I like the sheath, but that's too much dough for loose grips. They should have at least used some micarta with screws, at least a person could put threadlock on them if they came loose.

Great review. I was really starting to like the knife and go look up that steel. Same as inox on Marttiini knives? Then the handle - doh Saved me some time I guess. At that price, it should have done fine, it is an "outdoor" knife. I don't baton knives! - not a hater. I carry a tool for batoning (ax or bigger knife). But, I don't see anything wrong with your test facility. Warranty? or is that just Esee? I never, ever seen one of those wire saws worth a nickle. Thank you for showing us these knives, Brian. Not having an easy way to tighten the handle, or change it is a bit of a downer for me. Yeah, that's a "tactical" knife. It's not a good quality knife. Made in China with a "Russian" sounding name. They're known for breaking blades. As far as being an outdoor knife, it would be ok, but the blade is too thick and the bevel is too steep.....Just a "bayonet" from Korea with a fancy handle, so to speak.
