My favourite behind-the-scenes story is when the animatronic started reacting to the rain on set; something in the rubber or gears or something-or-other made the model shake. The crew realised it was reacting like a real actor, by shivering in the cold water.
@TheRealRodent4 жыл бұрын
Actually that was always supposed to happen. Pre-production footage taken about 6 months before shooting, shows Spielberg talking to Stan Winston and Mike Lantieri, about getting the Rex to burst through the car's roof, encapsulating the kids inside the glass bubble.

JLRules the foam Latex (skin) would soak up all the water from the rain machines and in between shots - need to be dried off, since the water would add weight to the T-Rex, the mechanical (hydraulic system) would shudder- making it actually look like the T-Rex was shivering from the rain .

The CGI always looked too skinny and starving and the skull looked too streamlined. Ethan Snyder it’s about when they chose to show the CGI. It looks amazing in most shots but there are some that aged poorly. When she first roses behind the Jeep, for example, because that area had to have a lot of light in that night scene which made the model look awkward as hell. The model is infinitely superior in Jurassic world, but because it looks so good, they put it into questionable shots where the limitations become obvious...mostly they do this because they spent millions on her design, they didn’t want to make an animatronic while also maximizing their use of her model. It’s lazy but also business smart, I suppose. I’m not saying that she looks better in Jurassic world, just that the CGI model is far more realistic but was used very poorly as opposed to the older and less realistic model that was used expertly.

Although I imagine that a full sized Indominus still would be the strongest because super genetic mutant that is smart. I really loved the Hybrid storyline especially for Jurassic World. I think it is a bit squandered of its full potential in FK. I really like that they are returning to form and keeping the super hybrids out of the last movie in this trilogy.
@JETZcorp2 жыл бұрын
One thing I'd say about Rexy vs Indominus, just by looking at their skills you can tell Rexy would bite way harder. Indominus's skull is built like a big raptor. Skinny upper jaw, super wide but flat and weak lower jaw, and none of the wide beefy hinge area where all of T-Rex's muscles are. Indominus also doesn't have very much binocular vision overlap, whereas T-Rex has better binocular overlap than a hawk or eagle. Indominus's teeth also come out of it's jaws at funky angles, which looks snarly and mean for a movie monster but would make them prone to breaking, compared to the straight round anchored bananas Rexy has. Indominus would have to use it's arms, agility, and intelligence to try and win that fight. One neck bite from Rexy and you're the headless horseman. They have Triceratops fossils with chunks of the head frills bitten off by T-Rex teeth. Backbones and ribs and femurs and other enormous bones from big hadrosaurs, absolutely crunched to bits by Rexes. Most other carnivores stripped meat from the bone like we do from chicken drumsticks. T-Rex just went right through the bones hyena style. God I love Tyrannosaurus. Long Live the King.

Well, the number ofnteeth are different, the size of the eye and the snout itself are just way too noticeable for it to be ageing. It was actually a purposeful choice by the special effects supervisors. I don't understand why though. But some aspects were for ageing.
@taliesincoleman65694 жыл бұрын
@@bastianpalma5609 1- animals change the number of teeth as they grow, as does their snout so yes those are ageing. 2- it was a choice to combine the stan winston animatronic with the CGIof thew first film, combined with ageing.

Nearly thirty years have been pas since I saw for first time the T. Rex in the original movie, and I absolutely prefer the first design, is very clear for me that the model has been changed trought the pass of the years, but I don understad why thirty years after, we have a worse T. rex?, for me is a cartoon T. Rex, the computers still don`t have enought power to emulate the reality, and it si very clear for me when I see a CGI model or an animatronic. In myt opinion, the perfect combination of both technics was developed in the firs movie.

I do have to say that the Stan Winston animatronic is amazing but I have to give credit to Fallen Kingdom for making her feel the same way she was in the original, those 2 are definitely my favourites. I also noticed she changed colour over time that's best seen in her CGI models, in JP she's shades of browns with bluish purple stripes while in JW and JWFK a lot of the brown has darkened while some others have lightened to sandy bronzeish ,the stripes have gone. Side note I think the final battle of JW would have gone differently if Big Mama Reberta was like she was in Fallen Kingdom.
@perigosu84494 жыл бұрын
Well you gotta realize that they also had to make IR look "cooler" in the first JW... so that would explain why T-Rex couldn't be in tip top shape.

The healthy and muscular Fallen Kingdom Rexy would’ve done much better against the Indominous Rex. She still would’ve lost on her own but she would’ve put up a much better fight. It was hard to watch Indominous beating the shit out of her. Also Rexy vs Spino from Jp3 would’ve handled that differently.
JW and JWFK were on crack for how they made Rexy look. Skinnier or not, it doesn't look like the same rex. The chin, the body, things are just way off. How they messed that up in this era of tech, I don't know.

I think it should get less exposed shots for future movies, the less you expose a monster, the scarier it is. For example, at the T. Rex paddock scene, most scenes didn't show the full dino (gotta tease a bit, let the sensation of size sink), and also the acting is essential, like when the glass fell, that really got the ticket (fun fact: that part wasn't planned). I think the trick is to make it believable. Anyway, thanks for reading this, have a nice life :)

Rexy, or Roberta’s roar has also changed throughout the years. Of course her yells and famous roars can be easily recognizable in the original JP. In Jurassic World and Fallen Kingdom, the Trex has the same roars from The Lost World Trex’s. She rarely dose her famous roar anymore.

I‘ve even noticed that the animatronic T-Rexes in The Lost World: Jurassic Park also looked different than their CGI counterparts, despite the maquettes coming straight from Stan Winston Studios that ILM used for reference. Most noticeably I see it in the arms of the T-Rexes, with a prime example being the scene where the Rexes rip up Eddie Carr’s car.

My Favorite detail about the JW & JWFK Rexy designs is the fact that they put the effort to make sure that when the audience first sees her, they KNOW it’s her, they KNOW that this ain’t no ordinary T-Rex, that they KNOW that this is REXY, THE T-Rex from the first movie. The fact that the combined both the models used for her originally but then made her battle damaged, those claw mark scars on her neck I love so much because if anyone were to try and argue that this ain’t the same Rexy, you can just point to those and say that she is because of the scars on her are in the SAME LOCATION as when the velociraptors in JP1 jumped on her at the end. I mean when I saw the movie in theaters I thought that it was Rexy and then I found out it IS Rexy and the scars on her, I loved this detail so much, cause it just tells so much about her and that scene as well since the Velociraptors had to have clawed at her pretty hard to have left all those ginormous scars on her that are bright and visible to this day and the fact that she was able to walk away with that probably viewing those massive scars as just a scratch on her. I also LOVE the fact that they took into consideration that since this is the same Rexy, that she probably would age quite a bit and I find that so cool especially when you consider the skeletons they have found of T-Rex’s are that old(I think the oldest on the find was Sue’s and she was aged to be like in her 20’s when she died, though they did find Scott last year and I think they aged him to being a bit older than her, still they are the odd balls out of the T-Rex game of life) Also from what I’ve heard a couple of people point out in anylasis of the first Jurassic World movie, Rexy being really old does kinda helps explain why Claire was able to outrun her in heels(plus scientists were able to predict that a T-Rex can run between 15-25 miles per hour, and if your an Olympic runner you’d be able to do so in heels in the ones top speed is 15), and since Rexy IS old for a T-Rex, she would definitely be a bit slower in terms of running speed, along with the fact that she hasn’t really gotten to stretch her legs in a while.
