The transitions visor is cool for certain applications. The issue I can see for me is that in Georgia I can go from bright sunny areas to tree dappled shade. With my flip up sun visor, it's quick and easy to go back to the clear shield instantaneously and be able to see. I'm concerned that the transitions shield will take too long and I'll have impaired vision in the darker shaded off-road areas.
@manybikes4 жыл бұрын
Yes, there are some dark wooded areas I have dropped into that have caused me to open the visor to get better vision... This is rare and the Transition shield is amazing!

Nice real world review, even with the added noise. I am considering transitioning to one from a Bell MX9 Adventure with Transition lens. I am wondering what the noise difference is between the two, if any. The Bell is pretty loud and has a bit too much buffeting at higher speeds. Hoping the Klim has better aero and a little quieter.
@manybikes4 жыл бұрын
Glad it was helpful! The KLIM will be about the same noise level as your Bell MX9. As for buffeting I have ZERO without the peak, but with it... its pretty bad. This Krios Pro is the best helmet I have worn Weight and Heat wise... Hope this helps. - Kyle

Hi Kyle. I have same helmet - the transition visor is brilliant and they are super light but they are not the quietest of helmets for sure. Can I ask where did you purchase the side mount? Can you link to the actually surface mount bracket itself please ?

Yes Martin... I will. If you have a helmet that the Wannabes mounts fit... I recommend that first! First off, 2500 miles in a month? Impressive! While exposed to full-wind (I have a T120 without a windscreen), do you experience lift or vibration/buffeting while at highway speed up to 100+mph? I also have a racebike and do trackdays, so if you get into a tucked position behind your windscreen, is there lift or vibration/buffeting while at similar speeds? Thanks in advance!
@manybikes4 жыл бұрын
With the peak installed I did have “negative results” but with the peak removed I don’t have any high speed issues. I’ve run it on close to 15 different bikes now... and it works well on them all. 140ish mph is the fastest I’ve ridden it. Thanks for watching.

@@manybikes Excellent! Any problems or feedback on the buckle? I'm a D ring loyalist, this would be my first ratchet helmet.
@manybikes4 жыл бұрын
Nspinicelli it’s not a ratchet, but rather a Fidlock - a mechanical latch pulled into place by a magnet. I LOVE LOVE it! I too prefer D-rings over ratchets, it this is a whole different level!!!
@nspinicelli4 жыл бұрын
@@manybikes Is there any doubt in your mind at all that it will come undone in a crash? I've never used a Fidlock before, but judging from how easy it is to latch on, I'd be nervous it would fail in a serious crash.
@manybikes4 жыл бұрын
@@nspinicelli No way! The Fidlock uses a magnet to pull the two metal clasps together and down. The buckle has to be PULLED apart by the red tab. There is no amount of jarring that can break the fidlock loose. Check this out: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oarJaZeifrmkf5Y

Right on Kyle!! Holy crap you are everywhere!! From tires to helmets. And boy do I respect you for knowingly trying out a spooky smooth tire in that sandy wash and hard core offroad!! Christopher Moritz Ha! Ha! I do get around. Not just a single genre of bike either ;) I myself don’t fit well into Shoei as I have a long oval head. Nice review. Use a dead cat wind filter for your mic! The wind buffeting is distracting from this review.
@manybikes4 жыл бұрын
Kevin Ho Thanks for your suggestion. I’ve actually got a traditional wind sock on the mic and that set-up is stuffed into a dead cat. This helmet is unique with the Koroyd and the noise is not from direct wind contact, but buffeting of the wind over the shell of the helmet. I’ve tried no less than 50 covers / placements / different 🎤‘s... all had this same odd sound. Thanks for watching! - Kyle
