I would imagine that you need a pretty large room to really push that speaker to it's full potential. I absolutely love the version III of the 7s and 64 and have considered selling my RP-280FAs and 450c so I can step up to these babies. Would still need to get the wife's buy in first LOL.

Nice unboxing video :-). These are some seriously impressive center channel speakers. I was wondering... Would matching these with a pair of SVS Ultra Tower speakers be a good idea? I know they aren't voice matched but since you've heard both, what do you think? As an aside I can't help but smile at the enthusiasm you show when you get a new set of speakers. Your videos are excellent and I thoroughly enjoy watching them. The effort you put into the videos can definitely be seen and goes a long way. I had the Reference Premiere 11channel Dolby ATMOS system which is on my KZbin channel however I just sold it and I’m changing gears completely. I’m very interested in you taking a look into the B&W702S2 and 700 series models. Looks like you are in Florida and if you visit your local Best Buy Magnolia theater they have the 702S2 in stock for demo; next time you are out and about shopping please swing by and give them a spin. I’d love to hear your take in comparison to what you have. Who knows you just might even use that trial option on the SVS to return and upgrade to these B&W because I think you’d like them that much.

Why not get another RF-7 as center and then put them all behind your acoustically transparent screen? Or are these not replacing your LaScala's?
@Youthman
@Youthman 6 жыл бұрын
David, these will not be replacing the LaScalas. I previously owned and compared the RF-83 / RC-64 and there was no comparison. LaScala won in every part except for the slam factor in the RF-83. Plus the RF-7 III tweeter would be way too high if I placed them behind the screen.

Do they even make receivers that put out 200 watts to a center Channel
@Youthman
@Youthman 6 жыл бұрын
Possibly but I'm not aware of one. Besides, once you begin adding speakers, that 200 wpc would begin to decrease. With a dedicated amp, you typically get the full 200 wpc.

Hey Youthman, great channel. I have a question for you, at the back of this speaker, there are 4 binding posts aligned, which 2 do i use?
@Youthman
@Youthman 5 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the kind words. You can use either pair of black and red terminals. The reason you have two pair is for people that want to bi-amp or bi-wire by removing the two metal jumpers between the terminals and connecting two pair of speaker wires to them.
@bzorro1
@bzorro1 5 жыл бұрын
@@Youthman great, do I remove the connectors if I'm only using 2 binding posts?
@Youthman
@Youthman 5 жыл бұрын
No. You would leave the metal jumpers connected. The top two binding posts are for your tweeter and the bottom two are for the woofer. The jumper sends the signal to both the tweeter and the woofers. If you remove the jumpers, you would put one pair of speaker wire to one pair and a separate pair of speaker wires on the second pair.

I am currently looking for a horn driven center channel to dynamically match my self-made horn reference speakers which are more detailed and more intimate with higher resolving power then the slightly harsh and somewhat boomy RF 7. I had not found any great horn center channel yet without costing a fortune. I was lusting after the Blumenhofer Center 25 which is way too experience for what it delivers (3800 Euros). The only thing I do not like about the Klipsch is their rural, wooden design. I like smooth and puristic, elegant speakers in the Bauhaus or cubism tradition. The RC 64 is not yet avalibale in Germany, I guess. Do you know for what it retails in the US? I would love to buy this center but it is a shame Klipsch do not provide alternatively a smooth satin white or black paintwork. I also do not like the copper color of the drivers. Still, I consider buying it as I can see no affordable alternative to the Odeon und Blumenhofer centers. I still would have loved and update of the RC 7 or a center equivalent to the RF 7 in size and output capability. I also own the R 115 SW sub which outperforms Velodyne and SVS which is funny but true. So brutal, like a festival bass when seeing Suicide Silence! Try and play those over the RF 7 ;) By the way Youthman, I like your voice :)

The RC-64 III retails for $1500 in the US. The RC-64 III does come in Black Ash wood veneer but as you mentioned, that's more of a classic, traditional finish. The RC-7 was a great speaker but having dual 8" woofers, it simply didn't fit in most entertainment centers. That is likely why Klipsch moved to the RC-64 II and RC-64 III with quad 6.25" drivers. Klipsch will be sending me an R-115SW in the near future so I am anxious to hear how it compares to the SVS SB-16 and PB-16 that I'm currently reviewing. Thanks for watching!

Would it be an upgrade? Yes. Will it be a night and day difference? Likely not. I guess it depends on what you are wanting. If you want to maximize your system with the best speaker your space can accommodate, then go for the RP-260.

I have a full Klipsch Reference Premiere 5.1 setup, with the RP-450C and thought that's a big centre speaker... But after watching your video i have to think it twice... :D By the way i think having a good centre speaker (means: BIG :D) is a very important in home cinema. Most of the manufactures produces relatively small ones comparing to their big towers. I don't really get this since most of the movie's soundtrack is coming out from the centre speaker.
@Youthman
@Youthman 6 жыл бұрын
You are absolutely correct. They say about 80% of everything that happens on screen comes through your center channel so yes it’s extremely important not to skimp on it. Same goes for your sub.

But low frequency signals are very rare on the center channel. The center should have a very good midrange but it doesnt have to be big. I think the RC center is better im voice reproduction compared to the center speakers of the RP Series.

“Sounds better” is always subjective. Our ears hear differently and we all have different preferences. I love the liveliness, detail and clarity of Klipsch but some find them harsh or bright. Some like a more subtle, laid back sound while others find them too concealing.

How does Klipsch pair with Marantz? Looking at RF7III and RC64III or the newer Reference Premier models that will be released this Summer. I have been using RF3-II's for the past 15 years, still love them! just want a change, I'm also running an Onkyo TXNR929 (130watt) I enjoy the sound although I preferred the Klipsch with an older Yamaha RX, not quite as bright and in your face....Your thoughts?
@Youthman
@Youthman 6 жыл бұрын
Hi Myk, honestly I do not know yet. Marantz is sending me their new SR8012 to review. It will be a few more weeks before they get one in stock to send me. During my review of the RF-7 III and RC-64 III, I decided to sell my RF-7, upgrade to the RF-7 III and give my son the RF-7 II to match his RC64 II. I have not heard the Premiere Series yet. Klipsch was going to send me a pair of R-280F with an R-115SW to review but I have not received a ship date yet. I too have owned the RF3 II. They sound good but you are going to LOVE the massive sound of the RF7 III. The 1.75" horn is ridiculous. Very refined (unlike the original RF7 that was known for being harsh), yet it maintains the detail Klipsch speakers are known for. I ran Klipsch RF-83 and RC64 with an older Yamaha RX-V1800 and loved it. It's all a matter of taste and personal opinion. If you decide to order the RF7 III and RC64 III and use the links in the description of the video, I will make a small commission for referring you which greatly helps me continue to provide content on this channel. Thanks and let me know if you get them. They are going to rock!

Youthman I’ve had my Klipsch’s paired with the RX-1800 and RX-3900 both were great, I’ve had the Onkyo for almost 3 years now, and to be honest I’m not totally in love with its sound signature, but after having Yamaha’s for about 10 years with the RF3’s the Onkyo was a welcomed change. At the time I loved more in your face presentation, and punchy sound signature...but, over the last year my ears are wanting a more relaxed “natural” sound but want to keep using Klipsch’s, no matter what model. To be honest I’ve been turning off Audyssey for 2 channel music and I much prefer it over Audyssey music or movie mode, Audyssey just makes them to bright and resolving for my taste...sometimes harsh sounding as well. I do however use Audyssey for movies as I love how it tightens up my Sunfire subwoofer, also does a great deal with the rear channels, my room isn’t ideal for rears, they are in corners (front firing) speakers and Audyssey does a lot to to level the boomy corner bass. Ideally I’d love to have a better room acoustically treated and leave Audyssey off at all times. I’d like that some (including Marantz) is now letting you tweak the Audyssey settings and save different configurations via the app. As a professional sound engineer and audio nerd, I’m going to love this!!! Thanks again. Cheers!
