One more question I am most likely going to enclose my speakers with my new basement build. Question being that the speakers will be recessed into walls wouldn't architectural speakers make more sense vs in box speakers? Bear in mind the sound is paramount both for movies and music listening in this room. Your thoughts?

Great Video. I am really tempted to buy the RF7 2 FOR A 2.0 OR 2.1 AUDIO system only. I just keep shying away as I don't like a harsh upper range. I owned the RF82's way back but they were in my HT set up. I never used them for music. Great deals going on right now on the 2's. I know you love Klipsch but would you use them for audio set up only??

Hey Eric, check out my other videos. I've been using the RF-7 II for 2ch for several years. They might be on the brighter side. The RF-7 are definitely the brightest, the RF-7 II, then the RF-7 III have the smoothest top end. The RF-83's are also very smooth on the top end as well if you can find a pair of them. Very laid back sound. I've heard the Reference Premiere has a smoothe top end as well. Klipsch will be sending me a pair of RF-280F in March to review so I'll have some first hand experience of how they sound.

Question for you.. What is the widest one should consider for separating the Left and Right Speakers in a HT setup or even for great stereo listening? I have a new HT build in process for my basement and may do a similar setup as you have less the La Scala's unless I can score a great buy on them like you did! I am considering a 120" wide screen. Upstairs in my living room I have a 80" TV thus I have them about 12' apart which seems to work well.
@Youthman
@Youthman 6 жыл бұрын
Hi Gary, most suggest making an equilateral triangle between the distance between your speakers and the distance between your speakers and your listening position. Take a look at this www.crutchfield.com/S-uiSTw4SejjR/learn/learningcenter/home/nonHTspeak.html

Hey youthman been loving the videos. Just wondered I’m thinking of changing my home theatre set up. I currently have a Yamaha receiver, Dali zensor 5 floor standers. Dali zensor vokal centre and Dali pico for surrounds with a rel t5i sub. I am thinking of changing to the klipsch rf7 III series but getting s package for 5.1 would this be a good upgrade and do you think I would enjoy the sound? Thanks for any help and advice 👍🏻
@Youthman
@Youthman 6 жыл бұрын
Hi Kevin, I have not heard the Dai speakers so I cannot comment on how they compare. I love the RF7 III. They are incredibly detailed, yet very smooth and refined on the top end. A 5.1 RF7 III System is amazing for Home Theater. For Home Theater, I would recommend upgrading your 8” to a 15...or at least a 12”. It’s night and day difference.

Yes, I reached out to Klipsch and they are sending me the RC-64 III. And absolutely, the an LCR is the best front soundstage you can get. Absolutely seamless. Have you contacted a dealer for pricing? If not, let me know and I’ll hook you up with Cory. I haven’t found anyone that beats his pricing.

Youthman I'm in Canada (near Toronto). Gibby's electronics seems to be the only place selling the III's and they are $2800 a piece. They had 2 open box II's they were selling for less than the price of one III. I was so tempted but I really want my next upgrade to last and I feel I would have regretted "settling" on the II's. Presently I have RF82's with RC-62.

I typically run Audyssey first, then use my SPL meter to make sure each are same level. I knew Audyssey tuened down my mains because of the LaScalas high sensitivity so I increased the mains to match the surrounds.

Curious on size per room and speaker fit? My room new HT room which is incorporated in a Great Room has a sitting and viewing area of 9' ceilings, x I have a great room which will be also the HT room with a 12" screen. The viewing area is about 18 ' x 22'. Screen area will be about 120" or 104" wide. Would the RF7III be the right size for this viewing area or are they too big?

@@jtc168 The RF7 III are great speakers. It will likely be awhile before I get a pair of JTR towers in for review. The JTR are truly next level speakers and subwoofers. So far, I've been extremely impressed. I will not be switching to the RMC-1. I reviewed it awhile back and it is far too buggy for me. I would be continually frustrated. Thanks On2Red. I wanted to have a very clean look, yet still be functional. Blue Jeans makes great cables. I have used Monoprice Cables and have been very pleased with their quality. I have tried bi-wiring but did not hear any difference in the sound. My understanding is that you would need to bypass the internal crossover and use an active crossover if you want to hear a difference using bi-amping or -bi-wiring. The Shack Meter has served me very well over the years. Thanks for watching!

It's in "dope from hope" written by PWK. Small areas, like yours, speakers placed straight out into the listening area(if you're 6 feet tall then your speakers are about 8 feet apart). Large areas, place in corners, towed in 45 degrees, but large areas with speakers apart 12 feet or more. Very large areas, place towed in at 45 degrees and add a center speaker. That's what the man said, that's what I do. The Klipsch community is full of misinformation (like 99.9999 percent copper wiring that doesn't exist, bi amping in the age of 60 watts per channel or more, large horns in a small room, passive crossovers vs. active crossovers, etc, etc, etc, good for them). Just try it and the harshness of the horns will mellow and stereo imagine will improve.

I completely respect the knowledge of PKW but ultimately what sounds best to my ears in my own home is what I'm going to do. I don't simply do things that others say I should do. I tend to do what sounds best to me, even if that means I'm doing it "incorrectly". BTW, I don't buy into fancy cables or bi amping. ;)
