Translation: You filming? We are going to do an interesting exercise. I really love it. It fully imitates the snatch at all its main points. Watch! (movement) Good exercise.

Klokov is an amazing athlete, an elite olympic lifter who doesn't disrespect crossfit and other disciplines that arguably bastardize the training movements of olympic weightlifting, but actually participates and dominates in them.
@kblkbl7 жыл бұрын
That's because he's an enterpreneur and visionary. Commercially, Crossfit is the best thing that ever happend to Olympic Weightlifting. Only short-sighted hobbyists criticize the influence Crossfit is having in the general perception of Olympic Weightlifting. It's going from the general notion of fat guys lifting big weights to understanding what an amazing and difficult sport it is.

I don’t think people understand how difficult it is to do a press like that from the bottom of a squat. I can only do it with a pvc pipe lol

Most I’ve ever managed is 95 pounds. And I can snatch press 225 standing. Klokov doing it here with my standing press weight is fucking insane.

@VladislavXz10 жыл бұрын
Ни в коем случае. О нагрузках вы будете всегда помнить. Память не является противопоказанием при остеохондрозе.

okay so don't rip me apart here because I love klokov and respect him, but aren't his knees valgus basically from :40 seconds and on? It seriously seems like this could cause damage to the cartilage of the knee at the high weights he uses with that form...
@Iberstine1911458 жыл бұрын
He's bow legged so it looks like it when his heels are in line with his hips because of the curved tibia. All weightlifters will have joint problems to an extent anyways
@GPaulTheThrashKing5 жыл бұрын
Internal rotation of the femur in the hips seems to be advantageous at the bottom position, which is why most of the strong weightlifters do it.

Compressive forces are very high at the complete flexion of the knees, yes, there is more risk to the ligaments on the sides of the knees past 90 degrees studies have shown. Keep in mind that this movement is still much safer than the leg press at any angle. Leg presses should be eliminated. I know this from personal experience and actual studies.
