I’m 3 weeks going off 2mg daily with a prescription sleeping pill. I only been on this drug for like 6 months and it’s been absolutely hell with the withdrawals. Tapering off is hard the first couple weeks and next week I’ll be on .5 and I’m excited to get through this. Your body is capable of getting through this. The Ashton Method slowly switches from all benzos to diazepam (Valium) b/c it has the longest 1/2 life & goes to lower doses. I’ve only ever taken 0.5mg of clonazepam, however on for 35 yrs 😳🫣 Anyway, over a couple yrs. I tapered to 0.25mg pill. I have since read & heard there is no real ‘low dose’. 0.5mg of clonazepam = 10mg. Of Diazepam .. 🙄 Main thing is how we approach the taper, have we dealt with reading we were put on to begin with? Are we in a healthy place - clean eating, no alcohol, exercise, meditation, walking in nature (grounding), acceptance that this may be bumpy but it shall pass AND knowing if it is really rough we can plateau thr dose (don’t go back up) to get through. I am grateful you’ve posted this. I am using a scale like you, It is a very good $100 USD - however the support rep told me to be patient with them. They are precision digital do, as you said … let the scale find the weight of dose.. it may drift a bit til it gets to final weight. He also said to keep scale away from any drafts, AC, and have it on a very so,I’d surface that won’t move. I also read best to keep any electrical devices away from it. I’m looking for a 2nd scale, like idea of double checking. I had one less expensive one that was not good. The one I have now is good - I am tapering & holding for a month at a time or more if I need to plateau longer. Have supportive Dr., it’s not a race… All the best - thanks for your vulnerability. Excellent video. I was prescribed Clonazepam for insomnia and took it for over ten years. It took me 5 yrs to taper off. I looked into using a scale but chose to liquid micro taper instead because it just seemed to suit me better. I ended my taper at about 0.008 mg in January and feel better all the time. Sleeping better than ever. I hope you, too, are feeling well. BTW, I used a lot more water than Benzobuddies DLMT recommends. I put 0.5 mg in 500 mL water after dissolving the tablet in Vodka. They wanted everybody to use a concentrated solution, that didn't work out for me. There are some videos on my channel if anybody is interested. Again, thanks for this video and I do really hope you recover quickly.

Much more accurate dosing and you can easily hold at the same dose if things get to rough. This can be done easily at home. I also take a shit ton of supplements, eat cleanly and get some sort of excercise every day. I don't know if you can DM through KZbin, but I'd be willing to help you out. Benzos are diabolical and I feel what you're going through Supplements: 4000mg fish oil, L theanine, Tumeric, Taurine, Glycine, Magnesium (glycinate or L-thoreonate), NAC, CoQ10, probiotics, vitamin d, b-complex, B12 sublingual and tons of water.

Basically I was put on & off so many different types of meds throughout my life... A lot of them made me feel worse... I have anxiety disorders (like, panic attacks, panic disorder, social anxiety, ocd). I also have ASD (Autism), ADHD, Learning Disabilities... The worst is anxiety & panic... Only things that actually has ever helped me has been benzodiazepines & I wish I didn't have to take them. I've tried stopping, I've also been suddenly forced off my meds many years ago, it ruined my life & I almost died, so I'm really scared of Drs & scared of my future, I worry cuz idk how I will ever live without my meds I'm on & I also have chronic pain... If I could get rid of any 2 things, it would definitely be, if I could get rid of all my anxiety disorders & get rid of all my pain... It definitely would be nice to be able to taper off meds very slowly by myself... I'm worried cuz I've never had success in the past & prolly cuz I was suddenly taken off, or very quickly tapered off in less than a month. I've been on & off them for MANY years (At least 20 years/ Most my life).

First of all, great video and my heart goes out to you as I may have to go through the same process myself. Even though people are starting to become more educated with mental health issues, I find it's still very misunderstood and a lonely venture. I've been researching how to taper off of Clonazepam safely as I've been on it for the last 6 years. I've tried to taper off of it a couple of times before and it was always a disaster. The last time was under a doctor's supervision, and I was down to .25 mg. once a day, and then came to a point where I was told I could stop taking it. About 4 days later I started to experience what I knew were withdrawal symptoms, because I experienced the same thing the last time I tried to quit. I contacted the doctor and told her this, and asked if she would send in a prescription so I could go back on a low dose. Sadly, she refused saying that there was no way I could be having withdrawal symptoms after being on as little as .25 mg. for as long as I was. Luckily (at least I thought at the time) I was able to get a prescription through another doctor. Just goes to show you how little even some doctors know about this. I've been taking .5 mg. twice a day since Dec. 21, but decided I wanted to try again and am determined to succeed this time. I've learned the first part of the taper is usually the easiest, but trying to get off the last small amount is where it gets tricky. For the last two weeks I've been taking .5 mg. in the morning and .25 mg. in the afternoon. I was going to start taking .25 mg. twice a day but now I'm rethinking it from what I've learned elsewhere and from your video. Someone watching this video may think your process is overkill, but it is what it is as some have a more difficult time than others when trying to quit. I think I may be one of them. Seeing as how this video is nearly a year old, I'm wondering how your doing now and hope you've had success yourself in beating the living hell this stuff can cause. Most benzos are only supposed to be prescribed for short term use, but again I was trusting the doctors that had been prescribing for me. That is until I learned the truth. I also wonder how you came to purchase several scales instead of just trusting the first one you bought. And even when you found that they can be imprecise you are still using two scales to check the weight. Better safe than sorry I guess. Thanks again for taking the time to share your personal experience for others in the same boat.

Omg dude thank you for leaving this comment! I'm currently on week 7 of 8. I'm going back and forth on whether or not to take this slower than .25mg weekly because the withdrawals I've been experiencing since the start of week 6 are getting intense. But I know myself, and if I don't chop the head off the snake this time, I won't try this again. I'm grateful to know that the last little bit is the hardest and I'm not actually losing my mind!!! Holy smokes, I can't believe your doctor tried to taper you off so quickly! I'm so sorry you went through that. I joined benzo buddies 1.5 years ago and started tapering down from 2 mg Klonopin, and yikes, I'm only halfway there, 1 1/2 years later, but I haven't suffered much because of going so slowly (and I'm not that far along). I use a Gemini scale, and now that I'm down to 1 mg, I'm really noticing the difference in the pill weights, and it's messing with my brain. So, I might have to get a mortar and pestle and average out the pill weights.

Hi. I saw your question and wanted to let you know that Zoloft can be crushed and dissolved in water and water tapered slowly. For example, a 5 month taper would be putting it in 150 ml of water and removing 1 extra ml of the water/med mixture (and disposing) each day (drink the rest). 300 ml water is a 10 month taper, but you can speed it up or slow it down by removing more or less of the water/med mixture each day (30 days x 10 months =300). Just write the amount you are removing on a calendar or somewhere to remember where you are at. My son will be tapering Zoloft 100mg in near future.

That seems like it would upset my stomach doing it that way. I take 150 mg. So I have to brake a 100mg pill in half and when I don't drink it down fast and with lots of water it gives me severe esophagus burning. So drinking it in water idk if that's a good idea

After 10 years of taking clonozepan, I decided to quit clonozepan, the first week was torture, I thought about killing myself just to not feel the pain, which is absurd, because with the pain I would also lose my life, but at that moment it seemed to be the only way out of the situation. After exactly a month, the pain seems to have subsided, but I'm in a terrible condition, I've done everything I could, I don't work, I eat mediocre food, I only go out with my dog and go home to bed. It's only the second month, so I'm still under the illusion that maybe one day it will go away and I'll get my life back, but I'm withdrawn from society, I have problems with speaking, logical thinking, counting, I get lost in space, etc. It's possible that I suffered brain damage because I didn't reduce doses, but it's too late. It's a pity that there is so little general medical knowledge about benzodiazepine withdrawal, I have quit alcohol and heroin addiction many times in recent years, benzodiazepines are much worse.

It is the precursor to GABA that helps the brain begin creating its own gaba again. Also if you aren’t doing this yet, try doing some short bursts of vigorous exercise each day. It’s called interval training.. it’s really good for your circulation and helps your body build new systems and pathways including the brain. Last thing, gut health is about 80% responsible for feeling well as it’s considered the second brain.

Fast forward 7 years I am reinstated on a low dose after 5 years in a group home (I didn't want to be in). But this time I will go very slow! There actually should be a black box warning.to the Drs who suggest rapid tapers. I was miserable sick and I wouldn't wish it on anyone!

What brand of scales are you using? I am going to taper from 14 to 10mg Valium . I dose 4 times daily so I am going to take 1 mg off each dose . I get heart palps . Did you get those and do you think it’s better to microtaper or cut and hold ? Hope doing well . I made an error and went up by 4 mg due to a bad illness now gave to come down . If you could let me know I would appreciate it . Thank you and hope ok

The only symptom i cant get past is the heart flutters, my heart just pounds all day but on top of it, skipped beats, added beats, all type of of scary symptoms with the heart, I hear people complain more about the overall anxiety and tension when dealing with this withdrawal but who else feels the withdrawal directly impact their heart rhythm more then anything? I read forums where people exercised through their withdrawal and i get so jealous as that was my hobby before this started, now i cant excerise. Only 22 years old 5'9 and 170, yet walking up a flight of stairs makes my whole neck stiff up and my heart just throb, I have a bottle of propranolol but havnt had the courage to trust it yet, specially when tapering off a medication that already slows the heart rate.

Yes. I had terrible withdrawals
@victoriawilson72922 жыл бұрын
At a guess, I'd say that what you were experiencing wasn't benzo withdrawals but was in fact SSRI start-up symptoms. What doctors tell you about it taking around four to six weeks for SSRIs to settle in your body is absolute nonsense - the reality is more like four to six MONTHS! There is a Facebook group dedicated to this. I was put on 150mgs of Sertraline with 1.5mgs a day Ativan while I adjusted. That was at the end of December - it is now April and, as I feel I am almost level on the Sertraline, I have begun tapering off my 0.5mg Ativan, shaving off a quarter each week. I have had no notable withdrawals and I can honestly say, I would take this over SSRI start-up symptoms. There needs to be more information out there about how long SSRIs REALLY take to settle - but I suppose if people knew it took months not weeks they wouldn't take them. So, to summarise, anyone taking SSRIs should be sure they have fully adjusted to that medication, before thinking they're in benzo withdrawal.
@GunnerGOAT7304 ай бұрын
Interesting method. You must be very sensitive to the adjustments if you have to shave pills to taper off of them. I have tapered benzos before as well and have never been that accurate with it. Just a pill cutter. Of course they were never even for the most part, but it worked. Then again, I have only done relatively fast tapers. You must have been on for a long time if you had to taper that way. Since this was 3 years ago, hope you're doing well now!

@@BulletsGarage How did the switch to liquid go man? I also saw a new psychiatrist who would like me to switch to liquid Klonopin for more accurate dosing.
@BulletsGarage3 жыл бұрын
It's going ok. So I was in 0.037g of K once a day so the conversion of that to liquid diazapam is 2ml. So what I did was lower the 0.037g to half which was 0.018g and took 0.018g in the morning and 1ml of diazapam at night for 2 weeks to gradually lower the K and get on the diazapam. This past week I fully stopped the k and am on 1ml diazapam in the morning n one at night. The head fog is very bad. Headaches are back. Body is just adjusting to having no more klonazepan so it's in withdrawal.

If you can talk straight then your you are lucky with withdrawals. I went from a cold turkey to citalopram because of my doctor. They have no feeling for you whatsoever. I had to go to the ER because I have to drive for a living and I felt like I couldnt drive or do anything really. The slow taper is the only way to go along with other medications like citalopram.
