Mine closed a few months ago it was the first Kmart in rochester ny in the town of chili opened in 1976 was going there since I was a kid I'm going to miss Kmart got some cool stuff like you wallie thanks for the cool videos brother

Although I do have to admit it felt a little eeiry around the 6:00 mark when the lady announces on the speaker that the store is getting ready to close for the day, and your walking and panning around the empty store; like something out of a zombie movie.

The game changer was an award they handed out to employees who went above and beyond in their customer service/work experience. I got one before with a 20 dollar gift card or some amount around there.

I really really wish I would've kept my red vest and name tag, I worked at my hometown Kmart during my high school years (98-00) but I never thought this day would come 😭 thanks for your awesome videos!

I was there last Saturday night and it was the sweet spot where some stuff was actually cheap and not completely picked over and ended up spending $700, big difference from this weeks video. All the workers there are pretty cool and in pretty good spirits. Last Sunday I hit the Super K, I wanted to get there before the liquidation started.

I always thought Mother Nature doesn't mean to cause bad weather, it's cause Mother Nature is being "visited" by her time of the month, that's why weather can go from sunny and nice to cold and miserable

My local Kmart closed down a while ago now and the parking lot is being used to store cars. The building looks so sad just siting there.

I forgot to mention, the Kmart Game Changer pin is what you get along with that certificate signed and dated by the store manager and a $25 gift card for winning employee of the month, something our store hasn't done since like midway through 2016

William M. I did do a bunch of shopping but not on camera given the early close time. I bought some cleaning supplies, toilet paper, and a store filing cabinet from their office.

Anytime I go to film these closing Kmarts and Sears I make a point to buy something rather than just go in and document the store closing and leaving. I feel it's only appropriate I spend money in the store I'm filming.

Update 6: Try to buy the Store Closing posters, and the "Thank You For Shopping at Big K-Mart" letters near the exit doors. Update 7: Store closes permanently. Update 8: Store gets abandoned, or demolished. Update 9: Wal-Mart builds and opens a new store. Update 10: K-Mart and Sears closes all their stores.

Jonah Cole Wal-Mart just opened a super Center across the street a couple of years ago. Hence why this Kmart is getting shuttered. I did ask about the store closing signs. When this store closes, they will be going to the Bridgeville Kmart which is on the latest list of store closures. That store is only 15-20 minutes away from this one. And an employee already purchased the Thank you for shopping at Big Kmart signage by the door.

Jonah Cole agreed. I'm happy I got that. They had two of them and I had put my name and number in their notebook for people wanting to buy fixtures but the liquidator had sold one without even calling me. My buddy alerted me of that especially when someone asked for the second one and he told them it was sold to me already. So that night, I hurried up and got there to buy it and help take it down too.

That store looks exactly like Macedonia,Ohio Kmart permanently closed in the first wave of closures in 2002.Despite the endless 💩 weather glad to see your doing OK Wallie.BTW like what you've done with the M&V sign.👍Macedonia store was repurposed into a Petsmart and Burlington can't even tell it was a Kmart @ all now except for the still idle Auto center on the side of building.Appears now Wal-Mart corporate decided to close a lot of Sam's Club stores due to increased competition from popular Costco and GFS outlets.What goes around comes around eh...

I spent my unseasonably warm/then pre winter weathery Friday night at a Kmart too 😂 The one I go to most often is not on the chopping block, but you should totally check it out, it was a former Super Kmart, and there is a part that's kinda cut off where like the deli and meats were but you can still access it to check it out.
