I had knee injury and torn my ACL, PCL, MCL and LCL. Also, i had my literal meniscus removed. I had those surgery 3 and 2 years ago. I hardly climb stair, and cant squat! Im so scared and I cried when the doctor said i showed symptoms of arthritis when i have my knee stiff sometimes, pain when i try to stand after a long sit and knee popping. Another problem is i gained a lot of weight since the surgery and im overweight now. I wish I could do something... Im not ready for this. Im just 25!!!

Knee injuries are the worst. I ruptured my articular cartilage at a soccer game. I had my surgery and half of my cartilage is gone and i have arthritis now. I was a candidate for Carticel (ligament transplant that is grown out of my cartilage) but since i am 22 yrs old my doc said that hopefully i can heal better to avoid carticel. 7 months after surgery and therapy i still have a hard time running without any pain. My flexibility is good and i have stability but running is so hard and painful.

@Firestormify why would you use PRP as opposed to stem cell injections? My answer is there no stem cells available for injection . you need to get them isolate them grow them treat them then inject them i use adult stem cells from the patient marrow as a concentrate in nonunion and avascular necrosis these devices are available to help to concentrate the marrow

I wasn't even aware I had it .. I can still squat and run etc... but im not sure how bad it is... is 8mm big compared to whole of cartilidge on knee? should I have something done?

Sometimes the back of my left knee hurts like it shot out pain for a few second and when I touch it, it hurts. Okay I think it might be because I don't exercise a lot and this pain started to appear last summer on June 2016. But I get freaked out when I searched it up saying it might be blood clot or varicose veins. I just feel relieved if someone tells me I'm going to be fine. I can't do what I want if there is a person encouraging me to do it. I'm weird right? I depend on a person's comment for my emotions :/

Many osteoarthritis patients are waiting for further research into platelet and stem cell therapies. In my considered opinion, these hold the best hope for a cure for knee osteoarthritis. Currently, insurance companies will usually not pay for these therapies, because the techniques aren't yet mature or thoroughly proven to be effective.

It feels like it'll pop or have a slight crack if i went into a complete squat position. Unlike the person in this video, i haven't had any knee injuries before. I THINK it might have been caused from when i jumped and fell from about a 7 feet height today. I didn't think i hurt my knee during the fall, but i felt the pain later on. I tore my meniscus one year ago due to a hiking accident and developed a baker's cyst. An x-ray diagnosed me with osteoarthritis, but I'm certain it was accelerated by the fall on my knee. My previous ortho gave me a steroid injection which did nothing. Then he gave me tons of nsaids which are killing my stomach. I'm still in excruciating pain and have difficulty walking. Needless to say, I'm ditching my old ortho for a second opinion.

At your own risk and expense, please try KNOX GELATINE found in the baking aisle in your local Grocery Store. Two packets a day for two weeks in your cereals or juice drinks will yield noticeable relief of the pain while the body healss itself and restores the cartilage between joints.

Hello Sir, I'm Afsal from Kerala. 2 years ago, I had a bike accident, my right knee and bones are broken. Doctors inserted a steel rode from the top of thigh to heel. Due to that I cant bend my knee. Is there any surgical solution to make my knee bendable? Waiting for your kind reply, thank you.
@bigpardner2 жыл бұрын
Sorry; but I am unqualified to advise you. I will just say that I was in ORs in the US often as a technician for orthopedic surgeries and never saw, or heard of, a rod inserted all the way from hip to heel. Was the ankle also injured? If not why disable it with the rod? I have seen rods from just below hip to the knee (in the femur) and from just below the knee to the ankle (in the tibia), but never the entire leg. I guess I have not seen everything. Where you are I guess is high level of medical practice. Have you consulted with doctors to see if the rod can be removed entirely are partially. Perhaps your knee was so destroyed that they can not reconstruct a functioning joint, even a total artificial knee. Good luck.

Cortisone injections over a period of time can cause and contribute to injury.And can result in swelling in the body.Then the results of steroids can be with damage already done.Also inflammation of nerves endings from years of wear and tear and pressure on joints can lead from arthritis conditions both can contibute to loss of cartilidge.Injury and wear and tear overtime through the years.Inflammation and cortisone administered to much can contribute to loss of cartilidge.The Medical Industry should know never to administer to much cortisone.Just like anabolic steroids that sports athletes use can lead to sports injuries.The body can also have injury due to arhritis.Joint cartilidge loss can happen if you have a condition that causes inflammation.All of these contibute.

I told her about the UT Ortho and about the pain management that is available at the center. Would this be beneficial for her. Her present doc keeps telling her to wait and give it more time. She lives within an hour drive to Toledo. I thought the pain management doc could help, or maybe there is something wrong with her knee replacement.

4cClubT I agree ..you got that right ..I used to do the British race walking and that will not just cause you to lose weight but it literally will sculpt and trim off the flab if it is done correctly ; because the hips are twisting and turning . Also the first place I noticed results was right below the buttocks : it chisels out any fat or flab there and then halfway down the back of the thigh gives a nice slight muscular bulge like a dancer. I originally saw that quick result within two weeks of doing the British race walking for about a half hour to 45 minutes 3× a week ...I could not believe how quickly I saw the results and it was not jarring to my joints . The problem is one needs to keep the shoulders up and back , and the rib cage cannot hang down... it actually takes a bit of concentration but I currently cannot do it because I carried something really heavy and now have a torn and punctured meniscus ..it also gave me a slipped disc but that is much better now. The problem with the British race walking which is actually an Olympic sport now ; is a lot of people don't want to be seen doing it cuz it does look kind of crazy but I always tell people : IT GETS RESULTS and will not age you as quickly as jogging or running... notice slow motion film footage of people jogging or running ..their face , their cheeks are wobbling up and down and it looks horrible .
