After doing the knee massage for clients I wanted to do one for myself. Enjoy. I know some of you are very observant and you will notice the whole on my shirt 🤣. It’s to put your thumbs through the holes. It’s not torn even though I’m sure I have torn shirt somewhere. 😂😂😂

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for this video, there isn't a single person who doesn't have problems with their knees, we abuse them and that's why we have problems later in life, but a much younger population also has problems with their legs and knees due to their weight, since they eat unhealthy food.

I just quit my job at a corporate massage chain because I was tricked into massaging a 12 year old. It was the owners daughter, but im not ok with massaging someone that young because thier nervous system hasnt stopped developing. I left cause of this, I should have been asked and when I said no that should have been the end of it. Can you tell us your experience with simular situations and how you navigate them?
@MassageTherapeutics915
@MassageTherapeutics915 3 жыл бұрын
Hello Peach I know I’ve seen you before on my life chats. Let me answer the best way I can with the info you shared. 1. It is ok to massage children under 17 with a parent in the room. 2. If you didn’t feel comfortable & said no. They should have respected that. 3. We reserve the right to refuse service. 4. Not sure why they tricked you into this which is not professional 5. Depends on the gender if you have a tween boy & they feel uncomfortable. 6. You must have the parent sign a release form for you to massage the child. I’m sorry you had to quit due to this unfortunate situation. You sound like a therapist with high standards and healthy boundaries. Any other place will be lucky to have you. Best of luck.

@@MassageTherapeutics915 the parent was the owner, not in the room. At first I was given her 14 year old daughter, i told her I would not do dt on her only Swedish. She switched me last minute because she thought her daughter needed dt. The switch was with her 12 year old daughter, i had no idea she was that young. I only want to work with 16 and older, if I had more training on massaging children I would be ok with doing swedish. But I believe since thier nervous system hasn't stopped developing i could cause harm without realizing it. I quit cause the owner was disrespectful, she didn't take my advice and made me uncomfortable to go back there

Hello. My wife has back pains. She says that it is at the most painful right in the middle of her lower back. Can you help me about where to start?
@MassageTherapeutics915
@MassageTherapeutics915 3 жыл бұрын
I’m sorry to hear she has pain! Are you a massage therapist? It’s really difficult to give suggestions when I don’t have a medical history. Did she lift something, any previous injuries, does she sit at work, any accidents, posture, sleeping habits (on stomach), does she lift weights, walk did she recently have a baby, there’s too many unknowns. How high or low on the back. Lumbar area, sacrum, SI joint. All I can suggest is a light massage around all the low back. It could just be tired muscles or something worse like a herniated disk. Very difficult to know. Has she seen a dr?

@@MassageTherapeutics915 many thanks. Sorry for not supplying enough details... I am not a registered therapist.. Just do some home massage... She has had trouble for a long time, but recently (8 months ago) we were hit from behind in a car accident and I think it's aggravated things. From what I can tell, the main discomfort and highest pain level is coming from the C1 area. So I was hoping for advise on massaging the Peeiformis, Sacrotuberous ligament, Gemellus Inferior/Superior and Obstruct or Intermus areas... These are all pinned to the main pain area... I am hoping that we can work on them and hopefully start to relieve the tightness and pain. She also has shoulder issues and we are starting to work on these areas too... She works as a TA in school, with reception year, so always bending down. She had a right clavical repair from a ski accident about 28 years ago... Many thanks for replying, I really love your channel and appreciate your extensive knowledge. I am a total novice, just wanting to help. We can't afford to go and see physio as it's very expensive and we don't have much money. So I am trying to learn and help if I can.

@@jstenniscoaching579 for a novice you know quite a lot! Thanks for providing more info. The accident makes sense & the bending over at school all day. You’re actually describing very close to the Sacroiliac joint which is the only joint in the lower body that joins the Axial & Appendicular skeleton. You are correct to want to massage the piriformis which originates on the sacrum and all the deep hip rotators too. I have 2 videos where I draw the muscles & show how to work the “deep hip rotators” and lesson 8. They might help you be more specific on working that area. It also sounds like her fascia is tight or even some scar tissue has formed to limit movements. Weak abdominal muscles contribute to low back pain too so maybe she can start incorporating some stretching & light exercises to strengthen her abs. You mention C1 which is the first vertebrae on the neck did you mean L1? I can totally understand your financial situation and you’re a great guy wanting to help your wife! She’s a lucky woman. I don’t think you’ll do any damage as long as you don’t force any movement or pop or crack her back. Just stay on the muscles and massage them. That alone will relief some of the pain. Best of wishes for you and your lucky wife ❤️🤗
