@@indigova No, but I feel that it's worth noting the fact that an icepick grip was used on a HEMA channel. If every single time reverse grip is mentioned, even in contexts where it is objectively better than a saber grip, it is said to be worse, then people start to believe that it is always bad. Obviously the consequences of this aren't dire, but historicity is important in HEMA; I mean, it's in the name. It is the responsibility, I feel, of those with knowledge to avoid spreading misinformation. It is, first and foremost, a fun little entertainment channel, but I think accurate information is very important coming from professionals and practitioners of the art, as to prevent people drawing incorrect conclusions. Depends what you aim for and if you can take a dip without getting hit i mean most people would give up when you stab them in the eyes and if you hit the head,throat or heart with a rambo the other guy isnt able to do anything. And i mean its pretty sure if you stab most people in the stomach they stop fighting Back although they could go a little bit more so if you are good at what you do or only fight unarmed people it can work pretty well

@5TailFox
@5TailFox 8 ай бұрын
@scientistmilorad9735 Spoken like someone who's never even been in so much as a playground scrap, let alone a knife fight. Look, Dude, nobody's treating knives like some unbeatable super weapon, we've just been around the block enough to know the realistic damage a knife can cause in a fight, and why it should be respected. 2 people can get into a fistfight, and if one is faster, stronger, or simply more skilled, they can pretty much come out of that unscathed. If 2 people get into a sword fight, one of them can, again, come out unscathed. 2 people can pull guns on each other, have a shootout, and hit everybody BUT the person they were actually aiming at. But no one, and I mean NO ONE, comes out unscathed in a knife fight. Especially if both combatants know what they're doing. There's loads of documented cases where someone quote/unquote "wins" a knife fight, only to bleed out and die from the injuries they got in said fight, on their way to get medical attention. So no, you don't "win" a knife fight...You *survive* a knife fight.
@scientistmilorad9735
@scientistmilorad9735 8 ай бұрын
@@5TailFox I don't wan't to argue with you. And no, I never been in a knife fight neither did I ever said I have been. If a person who trained Kali for 30 years is in a knife fight, he would absolutely demolish his oponent if the oponent is less experienced and trained than him. If one person knows what he is doing and maybe has some protection on his body he can easily win. And knife fight (just like any fight) doesn't have to be limited to knives. If you can you should pick a rock from the ground and throw it at oponent. And in a knife fight, one person can still come out unscathed if (I repeat) he know what he's doing and is skilled. And let me ask you, why you can *win* a gunfight but can't *win* the knife fight? Like what's the difference if guns are in some ways more dangerous that knives? There are also examples of person kïlling other person in a gunfight only to bleed out later. Same thing with swords and fists and everything.
