I’m glad you’re at the show covering new knives DCA. BHQ is uploading their videos fast and furiously. But the bad camera work and the “dude bro” theme is off putting. It’s good to see you doing actual interviews and have a camera operator that knows how to shoot the interview and how to show off the knives.

This. Really nice to see clear shots, decent B-roll inserted in, & useful conversation about technical stuff instead of "whoooah this is SWEET, I'm so stoked to meet you, I LOVE all the things you've got here". And Dallas mentioning being a cop or in the navy could be a drinking game at this point 😛 The only downside to all you guys is you've all got damned larger-than-average hands, so us Shabazz-like LBH guys haven't got much reference for scale 😂

This might be an unpopular opinion but I'm relieved to see there's not like 50 new models, I feel like the availability of their current lines is already pretty bad and I know it's a common story in the last two years but I'm VERY ready to be able to buy any production model I feel like without having to obsessively refresh vendors or carefully track instagram posts. Hopefully there's work going on to resolve this as well as making some cool new stuff for people who can keep up with that sort of schedule!
@mfreeman3132 жыл бұрын
Looks like that's actually a pretty popular opinion. Currently I've got two knives on pre-order. One was introduced at the beginning of the year, another there's been no new supplies for quite a bit longer than that. (Only one is a Spyderco.) I get it about the pandemic and supply lines but even before that it seemed you often had limited runs and long waits for new stock. Sometimes if something looks interesting I like to wait and see if I stay interested, and this peekaboo stuff is frustrating.
@NeilTheKnifeGuy2 жыл бұрын
Honestly can't imagine the amount of repositioning Spyderco and Eric had to do with just getting materials to make their knives with all the supplying issues. Keep up the good work and keep in mind Spyderco is doing what they can , and unfortunately not what they initially wanted to do because of everything! Im Honestly happy there still pushing forward.

I'm glad they finally are releasing that new sharpener, the Webfoot, that's a companion to the Golden Stone. (It's not mentioned in this video, but one of the others.) I rode with a friend a few years ago to visit Spyderco in Boulder. It was epic. During our visit we aske if Sal or Eric were around to say Howdy. Sal was not there, but Eric was , and he took time out to come say hello, take a few pics, and talk about knives. I was so impressed. They gave us a tour of factory, no cameras, and were so nice. It’s best company, not jus knives, I’ve visited. And I’m and old fart. As a knife collector I would recommend a PM2 or 3 in maxamet of S90V if you can afford it. It will serve you and your future generations no doubt. Their customer service is a 10/10…..No bs here just facts. Thank you Spyderco. Knife center, blade hq, and dlc trading are best vendors as of 2022 in my opinion. DLC still does not charge tax so might save you some significant coin on these premium knives.

It's good to see Spyderco offering kitchen knives. I love the Stovepipe but I've stopped buying folders. I get entranced by the exotic materials, design and craftmanship however once it's in my hands it gets opened and closed a few times and then ends up in a drawer. Living in a high rise I just don't have a use for such a knife. A well designed kitchen knife made with quality materials gets displayed on a magnetic strip and gets used every day. My current favorite and most used is a Zwillling Kramer Carbon paring knife that's shows a decent amount of patina.
