Lots of good stuff on the table today! Re. the Becker BK40 - while D2 is a nice steel it's the handle that's caught my eye. The original handle scales had a sheen that (to me) really made them look cheap so I didn't look further. However, the grey you've chosen (to me) has a more matt finish and now I'm interested. The Becker is designed to be a hard working camp/field/utility and with D2 becomes good value. Also, Acta Non Verba have really hit the market with great designs - definitely on the list. Thanks heaps.

@@FancyPrimate I've been saying that in my Knifecenter comments to, my thought is that keeping it D2 and g10 and just adding the new lock will help keep costs down the first year or so and then if they sell well enough maybe Knifecenter could request an upgraded blade steel and use that as a pilot to roll out a new steel to the lineup. I know of a custom manufacturer that is offering m390 blades for the rat so the market is out there, just imagine this: micarta scales, crossbar lock, and maybe s30v for 75$. How great would that be? I'm telling you guys it'd fly off the shelves even in the best of times

DAC I took your advice about the Gerber Prodigy and got one. I then found a Strongarm for a great price from what I was told a great dealer. After getting the Strongarm I was watching KZbin videos about the Strongarm (about six) and how good a knife it is. I was pretty happy about getting one for a great price. Then a video popped up on how to tell if your Strongarm is a fake. I watched the video 5-6 times paused it went and got my brand new Strongarm. Everything in the video showed me I bought a fake. I contacted the seller he even said that it was a fake and what could I do about. He gave me back $40 and I got to keep the fake one. Needless to say I will be ordering one from the Knife Center. I just wanted to let people know that there is no good cheap deal and only use a good dealer.

There are a lot of fake Gerber Strongarms, so always buy from a reputable dealer. Amazon is not a reputable dealer, as anyone can claim to be EX company, also they mix stock together so fakes get mixed in with genuine products
