I just started trying to teach myself how to knit and I think I've lost my mind cause I've become OBSESSED! I just want to knit all the time. I found your channel on You Tube and LOVE LOVE LOVE your tutorials - so perfect for a beginner! Thanks so much!!!

What a fantastic idea! I have a massive pile of tulle leftover from sewing dance costumes. Now I can put it to good use. I know my mum will love these too. I've only just discovered your tutorials, and I have to say that I am super impressed with your teaching style. You are a natural.

I just want to say, that I have been knitting for a few years, but still at a beginer stage. I have spent a lot of money on knitting classes from time to time, and my instructor has not been very patient, so it has been hard for me to learn since I don't knit all the time. I have learned more by your tutorials then I ever have in my classes. Your instuctions are great and easy to follow. I have made your dish cloths and love them. Thank you for your website and tutorials!

As a quilter, I'd use a rotary cutter to cut the netting. It goes so much faster and you can be pretty accurate. A rotary cutter, with mat and ruler, are great tools for any crafter to have. Thanks for the heads up on the sparkly stuff! Bullet dodged.

I've purchased the 6 inch spools and just took a sharpened kitchen knife and cut it into thirds! Worked perfectly!!
@verypinkknits11 жыл бұрын
Yes - it's totally your choice whether you want to knit back-and-forth, or cut the yarn each row. Cutting the yarn at the end of each row gives you a fringe at the edges that looks pretty cool...but it's totally your choice. I've knit them both ways.

You could easily adapt this for a bath cloth or a pouch for a bar of soap. If you wanted a softer mesh that will hold up to bath use, a bath / shower pouf yields a lot of mesh.....I took one apart (simply untie the wrist strap knot) once by accident ( playing with it after folding towels and watching TV instead of putting up the towels =~}). It depends on the brand but, most are tube mesh. So it would be thicker. Poufs are normally 99¢ for a couple of yards of mesh. --Ane

I used this to upcycle a couple defunct shower poofs. I undid the poofs (they were already halfway there) and put them through the washer. I wasn't too particular when making my strips, but found than 2 to 2 1/2 inches worked better. Probably not as pretty, but it was free materials and less in the landfill.

I made one of these yesterday; had a terrible time cutting the tulle into 1" strips; then a really hard time knitting it. The end product was just incredibly ugly, I hated it. Then today I needed to scrub my pressure cooker insert. Ha! Ugly or not I absolutely LOVE it!

Continued.... long bladed X-acto knife, dug in and cut all around. Then I put the cut roll on one of those vertical paper towel roll holders that have the dowels, and started rolling it up on a plastic empty spool with a shaft about 3" long. Boy, was that easy! Just did now another spool at 2" ! Just thought I'd share!

I love your tutorials. I always go to Very Pink Knits when looking for instructions. I recently viewed How to knit a scrubbie. I used the spools of netting. Instead of cutting many strips, I divided the spool into 6 equal parts and cut through all layers of netting to the core with a razor blade. (Although,I think a craft knife or utility knife would be much safer.) Which created 6 strips. Using size 9 dpns, each strip created a scrubbie about 4 X 6" Then I only had 2 ends to weave in (I hate waving in ends) and had very little waste .

Wow. I had bought the Spool Tulle from Joanne's a couple of months ago, but didn't get to work on it until last night. I began by trying to cut the tulle off the roll using my 1" square cutting board, but the board is off-white (it's old) and I had chosen a buttercream color tulle. So I was having a hard time seeing it and cutting it straight using either scissors or my Fiskars round cutter. So, I took a ruler and marked off 1" on one end of the spool all around, then used a long bladed

I use the rolls they usually called Tulle roll to crochet scubby which is only three rows round. I don’t cut the Tulle it works fine to knit and crochet straight from the roll. 👍 I made dishcloths from white pure cotton STRING out of an hardware store! I crochet and knit scrubby with the six inch Tulle as is which came out great. I then bunched 3 rolled up dishcloths tied them in a gift bunch with brown string popping a scrubby on top before I fasten the brown string. Everyone just loved these gifts and started asking how to knit them. 😉

Thank you for your video. I bought a roll of Tulle, actually I bought 5 rolls at Walmart but took back 4 of them. I watched a video on FB for crocheted scrubbies. I looked very confusing to me. I'll admit I'm not the world's greatest crocheter or knitter, but yours looked I lot easier than the other one. I decided not to cut my Tulle but leave it the 6" so it is a little thicker and I cast on 24 stitches. I'll let you know how it turned out when I'm all finished.

@ It technically worked, but since then, Lion Brand came out with a really nice affordable scrub yarn called “Stitch Soak Scrub”. I see them sold between $2-5. So I’d recommend bypassing the loofah method.
