I feel the same about sock knitting with DPNs 😩😂 When I learnt to knit my first pair of socks, I got so fed up, I bought some 9” circulars in the same size as my DPNs and transferred over to those. I haven’t looked back since, and now I can’t stop knitting socks (it’s becoming a problem 🤣)

One recommendation for you with socks and mittens and similarly small tube-like knits... if you'd decide to do colourwork, do not do them in DPNs! Use magic loop or sock needles, colourwork on DPNs is a nightmare 😱

Usually beanie patterns have you do a single short row turn so that when you fold the brim of the hat up, both the brim and the rest of the hat have the right sides showing. Hopefully I explained that in a way that makes sense 😅
