I instantly knew that was Teddy Ruxpin as soon as I saw the colors. The year they came out my dad bought the last one on the shelf at our toy store, but it was broken. He sent it back to the company and they shipped him a brand new one just in time for Christmas. The following Christmas I got Teddy's pal Grubby. He was like this worm character that you plugged into Teddy so they would interact together. I like how your hat turned out!!! And Mr. Bingle is this huge Christmas icon in New Orleans. My aunt has so many Mr. Bingle items.

One of the many things I love about your vlogmas is it shows such an equal relationship. I had recently binge watched your previous vlogmas just before this started and was amazed by how much you were doing. Congratulations to you and Kent for what you’re doing now. Some vlogmas I stopped watching as the husband became such a large presence and that’s not why I watch knitting podcasts. In yours Kent makes a guest appearance, is a nice calm presence and doesn’t attempt to take over, how lovely and refreshing. Keep up the great work, always fun to watch. 👏🏻🥰

My youngest had a glow worm - it lights up when you squeeze it. Kids didn't get a Teddy Ruxpin so that was a little tougher. Really enjoying this segment as it is a bit of memory lane for me with my kids. I do remember when I was a kid, the catalogue companies would send out Christmas editions and we would all sit on the couch and look through the pages for hours and days. It was magical.

I am screaming Teddy Ruxpin, even when I saw the yarn! I remember when they came out with these. My husband said his little brother had one. He thought it was creepy, but his brother, of course, loves it. 😂🤣

I put my advent in a basket so at the beginning of December it’s a basket of packages. At the end it’s a beautiful basket of yarn. Takes the same amount of space and it slowly blooms into a basket of color!

I didn't get Teddy Ruxpin until really close to the end of the guessing game haha. It's not a toy I ever had as a kid. This is a such a fun theme for an advent, and I love watching the guessing game! This one has been easier for me than when you did the Pokemon one, although those were super cute!

I would lay the yarn on the bag for the day and rearrange them on the bags and then rebag them in the right days so you pull out the yarn you want for that day instead the yarn that come in that days bag

color pooling when it does a spiral is really not my favorite either...i found a website through a ravelry group called Planned Pooling. ( I think it only really works if your skein is dyed in color segments as opposed to crazy variation and speckle and changes throughout the entire skein) you log the color repeat as it shows in your swatch/gauge/project and it can show you a predicted color pooling and you can change the stitch count in the program to see how different number can change the pooling from a spiral to a crisis cross to short blips and more!

One child policy is not fiction. It was the law in China from 1985 to 2015. Its intent was to limit a rapidly rising population. Because most of the people wanted a male child, many female fetuses were aborted. The end result is a reduced population. But left China with more old people than young people and that was unsustainable, so it was abolished in 2015.

I gave my daughter a Teddy Ruxpin. I have suggestion for your flares. Use the technique used in the sea glass tee. That uses a main color and lots of small amounts of yarn.

My guess as you first brought it out of the packet was a Mogwai but I've only ever heard about Teddy Ruxpin in tv shoes or movies, I don't think they made it to Australia and if they did they didn't make it to any of my students over the years as none have every mentioned it. so this might be a more American toy than all the others so far?

Hi Natalie. I have a question about your ball winder, especially since you wound multiple cakes during this video. Does this style of crank tire your hand/arm? I really want to get one but I’m also older with arthritis so I don’t want to make the investment if it won’t be practical for me (I realize you can only give YOUR opinion). Currently I have the Knitpicks winder which is adequate but I’d like something more sturdy.

I grew up in a family of 6 with one and half baths, so I like to think it prepared me for this, lol. I shower at night so I'm not competing in the mornings and then wake up earlier than everyone else to get ready first!

I have a question about daily contacts. Can you not reuse them? I always assumed it was to make it so you didn’t have to clean them. But is there any other reason you can’t clean it and wear again?

I don't find that I can, but some people say they do! When I've put mine in contact solution they seem to change in texture and feel uncomfortable to put them back in my eyes.
