Gotland wool is gorgeous. It has an amazing luster and a faint but definite halo. I just bought some stunning farm yarn from a Gotland flock - several skeins of an undyed very black lambs wool with a skein from an older ewe that is a very light silver grey. I’m planning to knit Caitlyn Hunter’s Kevat with it.

It's so nice to see you in that beautiful space! The color and texture of your sweater are gorgeous. I was worried about working cables without a cable needle for my snow crocus sweater. I used a light worsted held with a fuzzy lace weight yarn, and it went really well! Hope it will work for you too. You're the third person who's casting on a pink cardigan in the past week😀 including me! I'm going to make Zakkuri using Corrie confetti in vintage bloom, a dusty pink😊

Maryland alpaca and fleece is really nice. It is held at the Howard County Fairgrounds, which is the site of the Maryland sheep and Wool festival held every May. It is a much smaller version of MDSW but so much fun with all of the alpacas.

Hi Natalie Fiber tales has a podcast. I remember that Laerke (sorry if I haven’t spelt it right) had yarn from her family’s sheep spun. It was a limited release as far as I can remember. She has lots of lovely patterns. I’m sure you will find the right time to cast on the new project but I’m sure you want your Salty days as an FO so that you can enjoy wearing it as it’s beautiful.

There is a Book called The Fleece and Fiber Source book that has more then 200 fibers and there is also a smaller field guide with over 100 fibers. It will give you all the info on the breeds of sheep like Goatland that you could possibly know including what is the best things to make with the breed. Lots of info and if you start spinning yourself will be incredibly helpful.

Pee-can, lol. Mallow is a herb/weed, probably where they got Marshmallows from. I think they grew/grow in marshy areas. Untreated does mean non-superwash, you were correct.

Instead of reverse sc try twisted sc. It gives pretty much the same look but is not as annoying to do as reverse sc. it’s actually a little fun and easy to get into a rhythm with it.

Knitty Natty I HIGHLY Recommend getting the Fleece & Fiber Sourcebook by Deborah Robson & Carol Ekarius and the Field Guide to Fleece by the same Authors because according to the Fleece & Fiber Book, Gotland wool resemblings a fine Mohair or an Enlgish Luster Longwool. I do have Longwool in my stash and I do have Gotland both made yarn and homespund that I spun from the lock. I got both the Longwool and Gotland in my Home State. Also Kent should have add a Picture of a Gotland or any Sheep Breeds Mention.

I'm guessing the halo is coming from how it was Spun. If it's woolen Spun vs. Worsted spun, it will produce a more fuzzy yarn. Gotland is great for woolen Spun yarn.

Man this is one of the most frustrating things about fiber crafts imo. They reuse the same terms for multiple different things (worsted weight vs worsted spun) so much!

I still struggle with the whole size inclusive criteria. Seems strange to me that there is such a focus on insisting that designers always make such a broad range of sizes (gone are days of encouraging healthy sizes) as opposed to there being at least the option for designers to not have to fear being cancelled or not promoted. Will there ever be a day when there is “criteria” for “price inclusivity”? I mean, if a 60in bust is the range, imagine how much yarn would cost. Perhaps dyers should sell their yarn at a third of the cost for those knitting for a 60 in bust. BTW, I am at an unhealthy BMI and while I appreciate the ability to knit my size I just think it’s absurd to expect designers to scale or else not be promoted.

Size inclusive? You don't look to have a 60 inch bust so why would only buy a 60 inch pattern? US knitters...and those patterns cost so much more and so many pages. Its ok if you are gifted patterns

Size inclusive purchasing encourages size inclusive designing. Plus, she has a podcast and spends many episodes on projects and probably doesn’t want to do multiple podcasts on a project some people in her audience can’t knit.

Ah I mean a pattern that goes up to a 60-inch bust. It also includes my size! I haven't noticed a cost difference with inclusive patterns, though I'm happy to pay a couple more bucks if that means that more people can make the pattern too.
