THANK YOU for saying that about the exotic animals. It is honestly so disturbing to see and adds a huge negative feeling to the event for me with everything else amazing going on. We need a petition to get them to get rid of it!

I had NO idea they did that! I haven’t been but I always assumed the only animals were fiber related ones, kept in temporary pens. There’s no need to have a gator or monkey at a fiber festival.

@ yes they have these horrible trailers with cages and “exotic animals” there. It feels really inhumane and is a weird energy to have at a fiber arts festival…

I just finished my book club cardigan. I put four buttons on it, and when I tried it on thought the top most button didn’t look right. It just looked way too high buttoned and unbuttoned so I ended up removing it. Now, I just have three buttons and a secret unused button hole.😅

When the pot pourris stops smelling strong enough, you can put it in a pot of water and simmer it on the stove to get the last of the scent into your room. Rhinebeck is about the animals and the friends for me. I've gone since 1998. I think I went through 3 barns/buildings total as far as shopping goes. lol

As a person with a disability that needs to sit frequently even shopping events like Cake should have seating and is something that should be discussed for the sake of accessibility. From what I've seen the venue doesn't look very accessible and that's also disappointing

I did film a longer part on this but cut it out in the end since I wasn’t sure I was the right person to address it especially since I hadn’t talked to a person who would be affected by this and didn’t want to speak on someone else’s behalf if I hadn’t heard concrete complaints/only spent a very brief amount of time at the event you know? but I definitely wanted to mention my initial concerns without speaking for anyone or being unfair to the organizers in case I overlooked something that was there & I might have not seen. so I spoke from my own perspective. thank you for sharing your thoughts, I appreciate it 🧡

@@lifeoutnumberedjust do the fairgrounds… they have all the facilities.. admission is very reasonable ,, there are more than enuf indie dyers there ( which is what the Friday events are limited to ) .. plus it supports the farmers.

I “think “? The exotics were from a local rescue zoo? Exotic pets that people sneak into the country and then put up for adoption when they can’t handle them … I think the purpose of their zoo is to inform people that these are not pets to have in your home .. but I totally “get” what you are saying as well 👍👍
