The spline section is very useful when combined with the displace modifier to create splines from a jpg image. A logo for example.

@@7Mruvek Create a plane> increase subdivision> apply an black and white image> add Displace modifier> add the image to the modifier (and select Use Existing Mapping) > create a section spline and move to the middle of the extrusion (press Create Shape). To smooth your shape/spline use Spline Relax and Optimize Spline modifier.

I knew section spline was a thing. But as i never used it in my project. I forgot about it. There is also a cool script called "contours" to make contours of your object. I think it's based on "section spline" itself. It would be cool if section spline had ability to render spline by itself on the fly.. instead of just creating a section. Could array it over an object and make some cool animation of splines

i recently discovered a way to switch to modify tab from create tab quickly. I was frustrated about going to the command panel, clicking on the modify panel, then going to modify parameters.. i just wanted a key to switch tabs and go straight to modify values.. So, I found that you can press number 1 through 5 and it switches to modify tab.. Or if you use X to type in a modifier, it will switch to modify tab when it adds the modifier.
