So, let me tell you a little story. A few years ago I came across this kid, (I'm 54 now, so this was a kid to me), I loved his music. I told my then 12 yr old daughter about him. Well, I'm mom so she shrugged me off. Fast forward a couple years and this kid had a new song. I wasn't shocked, but I was surprised how powerful it hit. This little song was "Hi Ren". I sat my daughter down, had her watch it. All of a sudden I knew what I was talking about, I was almost cool. I sent the link to nieces and nephew. They then sent it on to their friends, and so on. So, thank you Ren for making this old lady almost cool for a moment in my daughters mind. Just know I'm holding the KCMO area down for you, and for you too Knox! Love you both!

More so for anyone that has dealt with poor health and mental health... I no longer feel alone - I love this beautiful soul for giving his all, his heart and soul into helping others even at the cost of his own personal space ❤ I am so grateful ❤

Hi…I don’t see that it will eliminate a chance to see him. He’s said touring will be difficult as he’s always going to be in some form of recovery. For now he needs to be close to his Drs in Calgary so basing himself in America makes sense, and whilst there he has an opportunity to network with the people he needs/wants to for creative reasons plus I think him and Sam discussed wanting to do a Netflix series. He’s too loyal to his fan base and who knows who’ll get to see him first but for me he’s just a guy catching up on all the things he’s missed out on, gap years travel 😊 time for just him and America is big enough to allow him to have his cloak of invisibility….for now. Much can be learned from Ren and people like him. They are few and far between but I feel a shift occurring. I feel a good shift in people yet I also feel an evil shift amongst the controllers. Ren mentioned the reincarnated Ren and the old Ren and to some it might not make sense but I resinate with him as I was dealing with my mom with Alzheimer’s and read a poem called My Two Moms in which it talked about the mom that she grew up with the living and caring mom and now her new mom who doesn’t even know her name or remember who she is. That concept hit home and when I went to visit my mom as my new mom I was more joyful to visit my mom and get to know my new mom and still cherish my old mom. Once I separated the two my emotional roller coaster smoothed out and I was ready to spend her final days with a smile, comfort and support instead of tears and anger as to why this happened to my mom at such a young age. Now I can say I Love both of my moms!

This comment hit me hard. I lost my mom to Alzheimer's on the eighth of January (the day before my birthday) this year. I took care of her for almost an entire decade. She had an aid during the day; but at night it was me caring for her. I watched the decline from the very beginning; which was actually the hardest part. (When she thought that she could still do things that she actually couldn't anymore.) It's the hardest thing I've ever done in my entire life and I wouldn't wish it on anyone. My mom was a great mom. Only people like us know what it's like to miss someone who's right in front of you. I'm glad you managed to have a brighter outlook about it than me

Hi from Saskatchewan Canada. I just found your music and I want to tell you I’ve really connected with it in a few different ways. I was just diagnosed with autoimmune after about 12 yrs of doctors telling me it was all in my head and feeling like I was going crazy. The other reasons are regarding my children my daughter is 16 yrs old and has always had complex medical issues but this last year everything has progressed and get really bad and nobody knows why. This time last year she was running around and riding a bike and now she’s in a wheelchair most of the time and is only awake for 4 hours in a 24 hour period. On her 16th birthday (July 2023) she could only manage to sleep and was heart broken. Also my two boys have struggled with mental health issues and I’ve had 2 sisters who have committed suicide. To me your music touches on so many of the battles my kids and I experience in our brains and our emotions, with our bodies, regarding medications and the pros and cons, doctors, the trauma, trying to explain it to others, fighting desperately to remain hopeful . Thank you for putting into words what I’ve been experiencing for many many years with my health and with watching my children go through the same. To be honest I’ve really been struggling this last couple of months and your music has reminded me that I’m not a quitter

@@optimistinmyprime thank you- the hardest thing any parent can experience is watching their child deteriorate and be in pain and not being able to do anything and so far none of the doctors can figure out why it’s happening. The cherry on the sundae is my daughter is going through so much physically, emotionally, and medically and understandably is struggling with her mental health saying her life sucks because she’s always in pain and or sleeping and my son is struggling mentally with having to watch his sister go through all of this and he’s stressed so bad his auditory hallucinations are returning and the doctors are refusing both of them mental health help. Both of them begging for therapy/counselling. They’ll put them on pills but won’t offer counselling or any other kind of talk therapy because they are autistic and delayed. The doctor straight out said she refuses to refer them because she doesn’t think they are capable and it would be a waste of time. I’ve been mentally, emotionally, and physically overwhelmed and heartbroken and felt like I was sinking. One night while I was up all night watching my daughters seizures, tremors, heart rate, and breathing I discovered Ren and watched Hi Ren, Sick Boi, and Chalk Outlines over and over all night long bawling because those three songs resonated so much I felt it in my soul. That night renewed my strength and stubbornness and I became a Ren fan

You both are so incredibly talented and authentic and it would be a great disappointment if you weren't your authentic selves. Stay true to you. Those of us who love you l, know that the culture of the music is alot of boasting...but it's the nature of the genre. Have fun! Be creative! Continue to inspire! BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY, stay true! ❤

Great interview. What ren was saying about comedy and people taking themselves too seriously and being offended by a joke or something said jokingly, but still acknowledging that some things need to be called out. That's exactly the way I've come to look at it. Ren has the right attitude, the right outlook, and he is a very intelligent person. And l love his music and lyrics and his diversity with music. I'm pulling for ren.

I'm into the cutting edge of music and have been listening to Ren since people were making Tik Toks of him busking. When I heard Hi Ren blasting downstairs from my wife I knew he had made it.

It took about five years for me to finally be diagnosed with two autoimmune diseases. I understand the complete uncertainty in trying to find out what’s wrong and then trying to figure out how to treat it. People don’t realize how much just having an emotional response to something will effect your body and put you down for the count for days. It’s a terrible struggle.

The energy and outlook of Ren… I’d actually call it forward thinking is just wow… And let me say this about Knox Hill. For one his interviewing skills are just WoW. Also he single handily made me listen to music differently.. listen is the wrong word… I HEAR all music and appreciate music all music differently now!

I can listen to.ren tAlk endlessly , he is so articulate, thoughtful, funny, introspective, and the accent & cadence lull me to a happy place! Lol. Not that U knox are not as captivating, because I can listen to you breaking down bars & beefs and being a goofy smarta$$ or should I say "cheeky bugger"?! lol. Love you both 2 bits& pieces guyz.😘

Being sick, physically and psychologically for half your life is something very few people understand. I do. I am 38 and have been sick since I was a young teen, so over 20 years of talk therapy, cbt, dbt, electroconvulsive therapy twice. I connect with your journey. Stay strong hot stuff ❤

Same I'm almost 36 I had a stroke at 33 though and my entire life and body has changed drastically n not for the best I feel so much older than I actually am even before my health issues I have been depressed my entire life pretty much and then just adding stroke & violent seizures in me as well it's just too much but Ren is a voice for us suffering in silence 🙏 he truly is I can't wait for everyone to know and love him and his beautiful art❗he's a genius Long Live Ren 💪

It must be great to be able to just park one thing and go back to it after something else exciting was happening. No signed artist would be able to do this without massive pressure from the industry. So glad Ren has stayed independent and is doing well enough from his music financially to not have to lose his soul to the vile, manipulative music industry. It's joyous to watch this, honesty and integrity with no f@cks given and no one censoring the conversation.

This man is absolutely exceptional. In every way, I am at a loss for words by how awed I am by him. His talent is hard to comprehend, but it’s so inspirational to keep learning more about him. He’s an even better human than artist, and if you sit with that, it’s just exceptional. It’s impossible to not love this man. Ren is an absolute gift to humanity, music, artistry and the pinnacle of perseverance. Ugh. My words don’t seem big enough.

"This Ren doesn't belong to the old Ren; he's a reincarnation" ... jfc, I was just describing this about myself to my therapist like 3hrs ago. It's essential to how I'm able to process my cPTSD and move forward.

Smart move for Ren to relocate to the US. Once he hits in the US his career is going to explode even more. And close to the Dr in Calgary is great.

Ren is the best man I had only recently found him but I was instantly hooked. The sheer talent, the musicianship, his flow and even his singing voice is all top tier. His guitar playing is some of the best I’ve heard and then what he does on top of that is just wild. He truly understands mental health issues and it makes you feel like you’re not alone at least that’s how I interpret it and it really helps. When I get depressed or get cravings I usually go to rens music and it truly helps more than most things

I feel for Ren I struggled with mental health illness and there’s days where you have to take time off days to do the inner healing and as frustrating as that can be cause I am constantly on the go i have to listen to my body if not I end up crashing!
