Hi, as someone from Indonesian descent, I love that you're using this theme as there are multiple "indonesian" architectural styles that can be inspiring. That being said, I hope you get inspired by other styles besides just "Bali". It's a common Western misconception that Bali=Indonesia, but there is alot of diversity in Indonesian architecture and Balinese is different from other regions too. So it'll be really cool to see you getting inspired by other Indonesian styles. Thank you and really looking forward for more!

@ilyxr5 жыл бұрын
@@oscarbavi7886 Yup, it's worth it - if you factor in the sidewalk is a simple rectangle that has very simple levels of detail as you zoom away from it, and the fact that it's very spread out - it isn't gonna affect performance. That slate style paving he did really helps to sell the scale of the whole entrance - something that wasn't achievable with default methods.

Yes, it's necessary and yes it brings something to the park: It brings the idea in his head to life. :) If you came here expecting to see someone *play* Planet Zoo, this isn't that kind of series. A history lesson with a build in the introduction for the new video is a great opening! Especially since your introducing the area's architecture, even if it varies a little away from the true architecture. Never apologize for going over history of another country if you know it, especially when your introducing something from that country. It helps broaden people's knowledge.

I love that your channel has finally gotten me looking at architecture... I am a biology nerd at heart but you describe the interweaving development of styles so well, I find myself wondering at it.... Unfortunately living in Brisbane suburbs, the style of architecture is not very grand, the oldest buildings are often degrading, the climate is very harsh on the wooden structures and in the city it is very eclectic and dissonant. I visited Ede as a teenager and remember how beautiful it was with all the stone and brick buildings, so old, so much history everywhere, and I was privileged to visit the efteling during a very snowy period. I didn't appreciate the architecture as much as I appreciated the sculpture, I have an artists bias towards that, but now I wish I could have seen it through more knowledgeable eyes. For my own sake I really hope you creative folks end up exploring Cape Town and South Africa as a creative source, it is absolutely exploding with botanical and architectural and cultural crossways and some very unique geography, but either way... Loving your work!

As an Indonesian, I feel proud that you’re taking Indonesian architecture and incorporating it in this project. Indonesian architecture is incredibly diverse - Balinese is one of them, but Indonesia’s history also include Hindu and Buddhist kingdoms, with large religious compounds and temples (The Sriwijaya Kingdom is one of them, with Candi Borobudur being one of its most famous religious structure), a history with Chinese immigrants (who brought their architecture along as the ride as well - also found in neighbouring countries like Singapore and Malaysia - called Peranakan, or Chinese-Malay Fusion, and the city I’m from (Medan) has an interesting Peranakan mansion called Tjong A Fie Mansion which is now a museum), and as you mentioned, our colonial history. Overall, you’ve captured the feel very well and I can’t wait to see more and what DeLadySigner, Mike and Rudi have to offer. Keep up the good work! Edit: I forgot to mention Indonesia has a huge Muslim community (it is currently the country with the most Muslims in the world) and Islamic architecture plays an important role in Indonesia as well!
